Chapter 4

Amy lay peacefully on the bed, her eyes gently closed as sleep claimed her.

weep…weep…weep…

What sound is this, Amy thought.

The sound seemed to be getting clearer and drawing closer, almost as if it was enveloping her. Amy's curiosity piqued, and she slowly opened her eyes to investigate the source of the sound.

Amy gently lifted the curtains and was surprised to find that Mr. Brown's house was still brightly lit. The sound came out again and again, as if it were coming from his house.

She suddenly realized that someone was crying.

More like a child's sound.

weep… weep…

Amy thinks there's definitely something fishy going on here. She gently turns on the light, puts on her clothes, and is ready to investigate .she felt a mix of concern and curiosity. She quietly stepped out of her room and made her way towards Mr. Brown's house. The sound grew louder with each step, confirming that it was indeed coming from there.

As she approached the front porch, Amy noticed that the door was slightly ajar. She hesitated for a moment, unsure of whether to enter or not. But the persistent sound of someone crying, sounding more and more like a child, urged her to push the door open gently.

Inside, the house was dimly lit, and Amy cautiously made her way through the hallway, following the sound. This place is not as magical and beautiful as it is during the day.

On the contrary, the walls are dilapidated, the lights are still flickering slightly, and even every painting on the wall becomes fade.

Amy couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as she observed the state of Mr. Brown's house. The contrast between the bright exterior and the dilapidated interior was unsettling. Nevertheless, her determination to find the source of the crying led her deeper into the house.

As she continued down the hallway, the sound of weeping grew louder, echoing through the desolate rooms. Amy's footsteps seemed to reverberate against the decaying walls, creating an eerie atmosphere. She couldn't shake the feeling that there was something amiss about this place.

The flickering lights added to the sense of gloom, casting eerie shadows on the faded paintings hanging on the walls. Amy couldn't help but pause for a moment, inspecting one of the paintings intently. It depicted a serene landscape, but its colors had dulled over time, accentuating the feeling of neglect that permeated the house.

Shaking off the unsettling sensation, Amy pressed forward. The crying sound seemed to be coming from a room at the end of the hallway. As she approached the door, she noticed a hint of light seeping through the cracks. Taking a deep breath, she pushed the door open.

Inside the room, she discovered a scene that further deepened the mystery. The room was filled with old toys scattered haphazardly on the floor. The light streaming in from a nearby window revealed a child-sized bed in the corner, with tear-stained pillows and disheveled sheets.

Amy's heart sank as she realized that the crying sound had been coming from this abandoned child's bedroom. It was evident that someone had been here, perhaps not too long ago. But where were they now?
