Little Sydney returned the tray to Old Alma who had been waiting patiently to hear what he had discussed with the young lady.
Of course, Sydney knew what a gossip Old Alma could be, even though Lady Kaoma was new to him, already he felt he could trust her.
Sydney knew he would never betray a confidence and had already made up his mind to skim the discussion only saying what he knew would please Old Alma.
"Get on with it lad, what did the young miss say?" asked Old Alma.
"To be honest she didn't talk much about herself, she was only interested in finding out more about me," he answered politely.
He knew Old Alma would not be satisfied with his answer and would be determined to dig more out of him so rather than go on the defensive he said instead.
