Kaori

At the Arcane's Manor, Kaori was helping the soldiers and the citizens of Amber alike figure out exactly where they'd be staying. As far as she was concerned, anyone could take whichever rooms they wanted, but whenever she said that to any of the soldiers, they'd make a face as though Kaori had just slapped their mothers right in front of them.

"For the love of- they're going to have to stay somewhere, you know?" Kaori argued as she received one of these looks when she placed a family of six in the room where the Arcane used to sleep.

"Y-Yes, ma'am," one of them replied, bowing his head. "It's just... Jarring, is all."

"Well, get over it already," Kaori replied, trying not to get too agitated. "I get that it might feel weird, but the city is literally about to be under attack. We all need to get used to this. For now, anyway."
