"Huh?"
Startled by her words, I felt Lilith's exterior turn a solid cold as she took a seat beside me and leaned onto my shoulder.
"My Grandfather is dead. As is his wife, and everyone related to him by karma." She said. " They killed him, sene." hearing the crack in her voice towards the end, I pulled her in as she shivered.
"Good riddance," Tian Wang coldly whispered in such a faint tone I could barely make out the words.
Snapping my gaze to him, I broke my stare before he could meet my eyes. Even dead, my contract was still in effect.
Lilith's eyes were bleeding a dark light that slowly vanished, " I've found out what happened. It seems your old friend Marquess Yor'fenli, the disciple of Belphegor, saw to their deaths personally after you escaped."
"Was it quick?"
Lilith shook her head in my arms.
A long sigh rang through my lips, "We are not strong enough to go after him."
"I know." She weakly said.
"But Arsene, your family."
"Will be fine in Noctem," I said when I felt something shake my soul.
"Wait, didn't the Arbiters say that the Myriad Gods are coming?" I said, feeling a chill I'd not felt in a while trickling through the core of my being.
Lilith nudged her head.
"And the Fallen will be alert once the other name holder dies."
She nudged her head again.
Closing my eyes, I sucked in a large breath of air and stared darkly at everyone here, including fox and Mia, " none of you speak a word." I coldly commanded and looked up past the carriage ceiling towards the skies, "Zariel."
"We would like a conclusion to the Abyssal Test."
'Sene!" Lilith hurriedly cried.
"So soon?" He replied.
"The demons have made a fool of anything I could possibly do. I've seen them try to rape angels and anything that moved. Only you can see they are on a killing spree of indescribable proportion."
There was a long empty silence I took to continue, " Torment is but one of the things you've seen, then there is the command I gave Freya. I'm sure there isn't a need to show you all those innocents that died for nothing, is there? Paragons are running wild, without care."
"Only because of your reckless actions." He countered.
"And I'm a part of the Myriad Heavens, am I not?" I remarked, smiling, " Everything I do is to make chaos. But the Abyssal Fiends are only defending their land; tell me, what fiendish thing have they done? You and I both know they are the same as anyone here. So I propose a new deal that should make everyone happy."
"Arsene Snow," Lilith grimly barked, and I knew I was stepping out of line. These were her people; I'd no right to decide their fate, but sometimes we need to push back, even if it's to take a little step forward.
"Zariel, here's what I propose; we both know that the fiends are well within their right to leave, so I suggest a probationary period. Where we restrict everyone who leaves the Abyss to Noctem and based upon not just Lilith ruling but my own, they will be allowed to leave Noctem and roam the Fourth Heaven.
"Interesting. But To exist in the Fourth Heaven, the Father usually cuts the powers of anyone who enters that specific—"
"That will be up to the Father, not us, but we both know he will not. Those of the Abyss are subjected to Lilith's rule. All we can do is wait, see and measure the restraint those from the abyss hold. With the obvious exception of the fourteen generals, who acts as protectors of the Abyss Avatar, of course."
The carriage was cold. And I could see the fire in Lilith's eyes as she stared at me.
"I'll approve in two weeks. Till then, no more abyssal fiends in the Myriad Heavens. Are we clear?"
"but of course, little brother."
I hope two weeks will be enough time for End and the other Generals to kill the Mother of Demons. Zariel didn't have to give us two weeks but did anyway.
A small barrier suddenly appeared covering Lilith and me, blocking us from unwanted attention from everyone around us.
"I know you're mad, but this was the best thing we could do."
"It wasn't your place to ask,"
"Maybe," I calmly said, "But do you have any rejection of this proposal? If you do, tell Zariel. You are the deciding factor anyway. We will keep moving on with the Festival to see if we can grind a bit more out of Zariel but for now, we got something. Especially with the Myriad Gods coming. Iluthath will not be ours, but the Bed of Chaos will."
"You mean Noctem because none of my people will be leaving to explore. They'll explore Noctem but nothing else." She said, and I did nothing to agree or disagree.
But it wasn't a bad plan.
Lilith is only pissed because of Tang Fang. Any other day she would jump at the thought of me helping out. Which thinking of it now, I rarely do.
Am I a bad husband? Hmmm, meh, who cares? Where happy. Well, at least I'm happy.
Clearing my throat, I opened my arms," come on in; I know you're mad."
"I don't want hugs."
"What about hugs and kisses?"
"And Rice Ball filled with jam."
"Whatever my baby wants," I said with a kind smile.
But we needed to be ready. Myriad Gods aside, Zantar and Balor scheme, I think I'm about to figure it out.
The gathering of everyone, the demons running wild, that I'm sure will gather soon. Not to mention Lilith's army in Iliya; all of this seems like an intricate plot coming together.
Leaning her head against my chest, I felt an icy droplet fall over my chest as a whimper left her, "He's gone, and I didn't even know it. I thought they'll just go into hiding and wait this out. Asmodeus was supposed to protect them."
Resting my chin over her head, I sighed, "I know you're sad, but you need to warn End. You got to push down this sadness. Every second counts in the Higher Heavens; you've got to tell him and your people. ANd only then can you mourn the dead. The Battle Through the Myriad Heavens is coming."
