Teacher Ron looked at the clock. "Oh, time passed so fast." He clapped his hand. "Come on guys, it's action time. Let's move to the gaming hall."

"Fck," the boss said, standing up first and throwing all the papers in his hand. He looked at his side toward his vice leader. "Yusif, you memorize everything, right?"

The vice leader shook his head. "Nah."

The boss turned to the other goons. "What about you guys?"

Most of the older goons shook their heads.

Ron shouted, "Come on, get up! You don't want to be left out."

Boss clicked his tongue and asked, "Is there anyone who memorizes even a bit of that list?"

One of the recruits puffed his chest. "Boss, I memorized the first 10 combinations."

One older member patted his back. "I knew you had something special in you."

Boss also smiled at the guy and was about to call him when other recruits started spilling what they knew. "I remember the first 20."

"Ah, I learned the last 10."

"I remember every combination of humans."

"I know this."

Even a few expandables also joined in. It was clear to older members that these bastards were trying to earn favor.

All the shouting woke Jules. He looked around with a blank face full of confusion, then he remembered where he was.

He turned to the clock; there were only 10 minutes left until midnight. Not caring about others, he walked to Ron and asked in a low tone, "Sir, how can we enter the planet?"

Ron squinted at him. "What you were... ah, forget it." Ron tore the corner of a page and wrote the 8-digit planet coordinates on it. "Here, I just said this on the planet search panel. Now stop wasting time and go join the game."

He snatched the paper and followed others to the mini-hall. Like the last time, other members selected all the starting pods. He walked to the right corner of the hall to get his chunky gaming pod.

It was the same low-range model as in his last life. Still, it was really impressive that the gang was willing to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on each of these gaming pods.

The problem with low pods was that they only had a 90% synchronization rate. He knew that by entering with fewer clothes on his body, he could increase the synchronization rate to 92–93%.

This increase in synchronization rate could make a vast difference. He looked around. None of the gang members were removing their clothes. It was clear that Ron had not mentioned that to them.

For a moment, he thought about not removing clothes for today and doing it when they gave him the tablets. He could use seeing on the internet as an excuse, but then today was the most important trial day.

He thought for a moment and entered the pod first. Many others followed him and entered the pod, but then he opened the gate, walked out of the pod, and started removing his clothes.

This attracted multiple gazes. Even teacher Ron, standing at the front of the hall, squinted at him.

He casually pointed to massive blue marks on his chest and around his body. "I feel itchy with clothes on."

As he pointed to his body, multiple old members stopped caring about him, while Ron and the recruits just stared at him with wide eyes. Though Jules felt two eyes blazing at him, even without looking, he knew it was boss Bruno. He ignored everyone and entered the gaming pod only in his underwear with a wide smile on his face.

He tapped on the massive start button, and the plastic lid of the pod closed.

A mechanical voice entered his head. [Scanning for the biometric.]

A red laser scanned him from head to toe. The next second, a mechanical voice informed him, [New user registered].

Darkness enveloped everything around him as if he had lost all his senses.

He only found himself floating in this darkness.

After some time, a blue panel appeared in front of him.

[Welcome to Universal Online.]

[Information fetching in the process. 1% 5%....80%]

He waited for the progress bar to fill up. It was a simple process where AI fetched all your biometrics along with your life signal. This was to make sure that each player could only have one account and no one else, but the player could log in to their account.

Soon the progress bar reached 100%, and a big ass logo appeared in the darkness.

An animation of a vast universe with DNA moving around continued for a second, and then a sweet voice came from the depths of the darkness.

[Welcome ruler in the universe of civilization. Dear Ruler, this being your first time, do you want to know more about the universe you are about to dive into?]

"Skip," He had already seen this intro hundreds of times. It was some random bullshit about how great the universe was and some other random self-praises on why this universe was superior to everything.

After his choice, the logo disappeared in front of him, and he found himself in a completely white room with no control over himself.

He did not even have sensations over his body, just fixed, straight vision.

Suddenly, a small, dark ball appeared in front of him. It floated around him for a moment, then a blue screen popped in front of him.

[Character creation is in progress.]

A massive mirror appeared out of thin air, and he saw the younger version of himself with dull brown hair, black eyes, and wheat skin.

He froze for a moment, as this was the first time he saw his face after coming back.

Even with sunken cheeks, the 16-year-old of him still looked far better than his past-life version. He shook his head and focused back on character creation.

He knew that Universal Online only allowed superficial changes, so he just changed his hair color to black and submitted.

The moment he submitted, a mechanical voice came from the dark ball: "Dear Ruler, what's your name?"

He thought for a moment and said, "Glitch."
