For a week, Hiroki only did was heading to an infested area, kill zombies, help survivors, saving people whenever he can or kill those which he felt evil in his eyes.
Sometimes people would accuse him for not saving more, sometimes he would get betrayed but Hiroki smiles and ignores them since he did what he could, not caring if they were butthurt or just jerks to him.
Right now, he was talking to a depressed survivor who was crying while losing his family.
"I...i couldn't save them. Why did I live in this hellish world?"
"..."
Hiroki listen to the man's grievance, telling how he was supposed to celebrate with his family about getting a promotion but it all ended when the apocalypse started.
He watched his wife being eaten alive while her daughter was killed when he was betrayed by some survivors, seeing that there was nothing left for him, he decided to commit suicide when Hiroki showed up and started talking to him.
It was funny to see a young man trying to console him for his loss and couldn't believe that the kid was more mature than him in this situation.
While in this crazy world, he still manage to help others despite not being helped by them. He still continues to do good deeds even with the darkness of this cruel world and delivers swift justice to those that deserve it.
He couldn't believe that still exist in this world, like he was made to be....a hero.
But still...
'It doesn't bring them back.' Grief kept knawing at his mind, the losses and mental scars he saw was too much for him to bear.
H-he didn't want to live anymore...
"Sometimes life is unfair but it is the challenges of a human should always face. You can never escape the cruel joke of the world but you don't need to mope around and stop. Just continue and persevere and maybe you might find something that will motivate you to continue on."
"Continue and persevere. Thats how humanity evolve."
Hiroki patted the man's back and left some supplies before walking away.
He doesn't understand why Hiroki was being nice to him. He didn't gain any benefits nor appreciation from him. Yet, he still helped him without asking for anything as the next day...
"T-tsukiyo?! Kaori?"
"Dear!"
"Daddy!"
He thought he was dreaming.
He saw his family die.
Yet, he never expected to see them come back alive as he was greeted warmly by the two people who he had lost, smiling like grateful man who saw a miracle in real life.
But as he peek from his eye, he saw the same kid from yesterday, staring at him from afar. He only waved to the man before disappearing from the corner as tears welled up from having a miracle to have them again.
"Daddy? Why are you crying?" His daughter asked while suddenly curious as to why his father was crying.
"Well...Daddy just met an angel and gave me a miracle..." The man replied to his daughter, just happy to be reunited with them again.
In the corner, Hiroki wiped the blood on his face as behind him were zombie corpses had piled up right beside him while listening to the happy family having reunited once again.
"If I had a father like you, would I turn out like this?"
Hiroki sighed and just shook his head, walking to a direction where more zombies were gathering...
...
"Did you think you were a hero? You almost killed someone, you little s***!" A man glares and punches a kid, sending him backward as other kids and a woman can only stand there, afraid as the man picked up the beaten kid and continues to beat him up until he was nearly dead on the ground.
"Get out! I don't need a son like you." The man then tosses the kid outside their home as the kid held on to the excruciating pain in his body while tears streaming down on his eyes.
Hungry and in pain, Hiroki held his stomach as he didn't want to face another beating and decided to walk to a corner from outside his home and sat down while crying himself alone.
"I thought I was a hero. I save someone from a bad guy but no one believe me."
"Am I really useless?"
".....I-i don't want to live anymore..."
.....
"Herobrine, looking at the things I did, why did you pick me as your avatar?"
Floating in space, Hiroki once again meet Herobrine while viewing Hiroki's past life as he only held a sad smile, seeing the malnourished and pitiful him, trying to struggle the reality of life.
Seeing himself from a third perspective, he greatly underestimate himself about how he carried his life, despite the near death experiences, bad lucks, horrible environment and constant mental breakdowns, he still carried himself despite that.
He saw him getting hit twice by a truck, how the constant failures of life and how people had been mocking him, tortured by that yandere girl for 5 days while believing that help would come yet it was only him who had save himself and his friend...
He even saw how he once tried to grab a knife to kill himself, only to injure him and sent to a hospital, basically death didn't want him to die.
Hiroki just watch as Herobrine saw this and was shocked at Hiroki had lived like this and turned out to be a kind person despite all the setbacks in life.
It was like...he was basically made to be a protagonist that was made to save lives.
It was weird, Herobrine thought as he saw Hiroki just staring blankly, basically having no will on his own.
He said he had desires, aspirations and dreams but...he never put any of them like they are non-existent to him.
Hiroki had a soul but it was almost empty, like a husk granted a life for itself...
Sure Hiroki suffered, mentally tortured even having his worldview being broken many times. But why does he act like this was just a progress in life.
It was as if, Hiroki was basically made to just exist....
Herobrine frowned, not knowing what to do but believes that Hiroki might solve this out by himself in the future.
But he has some worries about another thing.
"Hiroki, have you encountered any strange Divine beings in your past life?"
"Hmn....? Thats a weird question to ask me but my answer would be...Maybe? Well, its hard to explain." He scratches his head, unable to answer Herobrine as he felt like he encountered some supernatural events but he did imagine them either in his dream or ideas he wanted to write a story about.
"There was one time I was sent into some dimension by some Time God or Warden, to capture a crazy girl who was trying to ruin timelines by recuiting them into an idol group or something."
"Another was trying to seduce some Evil God because it was the only way to save the world when I was summoned in that world."
"There was an even crazy dream I had when I encounter Eldrich beings and them being girls and I had to make them happy whil suffering from some mental corruption at some point."
...
Hiroki kept talking about his crazy dreams since he believes that there wasn't any supernatural things that happened in his world and he thought that those memories in those dreams were more and more vivid even though he was known to forget things.
As his avatar, he wanted to say more but he decided that he didn't want his Patreon to get mad and stop. Though he was curious to ask why he wanted to know about his world.
"Hmn...A simple question. What is your old name?" It seem that there was some secret behind this simple human he picked up. First, the world he's in suddenly collapsed the moment he died. Next, all sorts of divine beings suddenly panicked tge moment he was missing. Finally, the curiousity of this empty yet mysterious human.
"Ah, I guess I never told you my name when we met. My name was N#%&@%# P&%#@& but I prefer the name of Hiroki since that is now my new name." He replied normally, as if it was simple for him to do.
Yet, Herobrine frowned.
He was unable to know his old name, as if that name was blocked from his head or was banned from being spoken. Some sort of Divine Censor was in play in this situation as Hiroki might not be ordinary at all.
But that was enough for now as he didn't want to bother too much with his Avatar and he needs to look more since he wanted to grow strong as well.
"Thats enough for now. Let us meet when the time comes....Also, watch out for these people called 'Yanderes', they seem to be looking for you."
"Yes, Lord Herobrine...."
Hiroki nodded in respect for the patreon who gave him a new life as he was returning back to his body....
"Wait, Yanderes...?"
