MHA: The Golden Flash

Takumi Kazuma, a boy with a decent quirk, but good skills to make up for it. Before taking the U.A. entrance exam - something that almost all of the kids in Japan seek to do as it was the school that infamous heroes like All Might, Endeavour, and Best Jeanist all went to - the boy sought to grow stronger and stronger until he was the strongest. This is the journey of the Strongest Hero What to expect from this story: - Non-Super OP Quirk: This story doesn't feature a super overpowered quirk like Time or Space Manipulation, or something that will make MC's life easy. Rather, the MC's quirk is something he has and will put blood, sweat, and tears into evolving and growing stronger. Though, it's certainly stronger than quirks like Pop Off or Naval Laser - Romance: While there will be romance, there will not be early romance (As depicted in the first chapter). However, this does not mean that MC won't have girls interested in him or girls that he talks to and is interested in, just don't expect him to get into a relationship early - Slice of Life/Action: As U.A. is set in High School, I want to take on a more slice of life approach rather than action. In terms of action and slice of life, it'll probably be about 40-60 - Mid to Slow Pacing of Plot: Admittedly, I tend to go really slow in stories and that makes me lose interest and drop stuff/put it on hiatus. With this story, I want to go for a faster approach, but not super rushed to the point the story is ruined - MC with personality: I do my best to not make my MC seem robotic and emotionless. Because of this, there are moments with MC and others that may seem goofy and/or unnecessary. But it's all for MC's character - OCs/SIs: As I don't want to follow the MHA plot exactly, there may be a few OCs/SIs for personal arcs of the MC such as his Internships - (Possibly) Movies: I'll attempt to implement 1 or 2 My Hero movies into this story to add a bit more, but only if it makes sense in the story

Chapter 5: First Day, Finally

A little more than a month had passed since the party - or gathering, since Takumi didn't really think of it as a 'party' - and school was finally beginning tomorrow

"Hoo~..." Wiping off the slight glistening of sweat from his forehead, Takumi exhaled exaggeratingly as he finally finished unpacking all his stuff, allowing him to sit his ass on the large, comfortable sofa in his new living room, "Ahh~ This's nice"

Cocking his head back, Takumi closed his eyes, allowing the softness of the couch to take him into dreamland- *Ding! DONG!* "-Nevermind." His eyes snapped open, lifting himself off of the couch with a low grunt before walking over to the door

"..." Looking through the peephole of the door, his mouth curled upwards into a small smile as he saw a familiar orange-haired girl looking stressed and worried with multiple cardboard boxes around her, mainly on the floor while she held two in her hands, "Need some help?" After unlocking the door (Which had 3 locks: nice and secure), he stepped out and allowed Itsuka to run past him into the apartment

Assisting the girl by picking up 2 cardboard boxes, he couldn't help but chuckle lightly as he heard the girl seemingly face-plant onto the couch and scream a muffled "FINALLY!" at the chance of being able to rest a little

"Come on, there's still a few boxes left-" Takumi re-entered the living room, putting down her boxes as he looked at her puppy eyes with a scary gaze, "-I'm not doing this all by myself, who do you think I am?" Grabbing the girl by her jacket's collar, he lifted her from the couch and led her to the door, while ignoring her little baby tantrum, where they could see the remaining 10-or-so boxes of her belongings

.

.

.

"This place is huge!" Itsuka exclaimed in shock. She had already seen the place a while ago, but she still couldn't fathom the size of it, "What's the rent for this place?" She asked, glancing over at Takumi who sat on his new favourite piece of furniture: The couch

"Rent? Nuh uh" Takumi looked up from his phone, his brow raised before scoffing while wagging his index finger as if he couldn't fathom what the girl had just said, "I BOUGHT this penthouse apartment - I don't rent things, sweetie"

"..." Itsuka felt a few veins on the verge of bursting at his very humble nature, but she calmed herself down before asking, with much hesitation, "H-How much did you spend, exactly...?"

"Close to 500 million-" *CRACK!* Takumi could've sworn he just heard something crack, but after looking around the place and seeing nothing, he shrugged his shoulders before looking at Itsuka's darkened face, "It's fine, it's not much. Just a bit of change, honestly" He swayed his hand, unaware of Itsuka's thinking process

'5-500 million..."A BIT of CHANGE"...' At this moment, she decided: 'I hate rich people'.

.

.

.

"Tch..." With a kiss of his teeth, Takumi loosened the tight tie and undid the top button similar to how he had done with his party suit, "Much better" He smiled, feeling like he was able to breathe properly once again as he looked at his reflection in the full body mirror

His school uniform consisted of a long-sleeve, button-up white shirt (Which had the top button undone as stated), a grey blazer (which he, according to Itsuka, HAD to button up so he did) with blue-green stripes on the collar and hem of the sleeves, and a red tie (Slightly loosened), and dark blue-green pants

After appreciating his looks gifted by his family at birth for a while longer, he finally left his large room with his school-ready things and headed to his territory (The infamous couch) where he would wait for Itsuka, "Let's see how long she takes..." And so, while waiting, he decided to set a timer, 'I'm betting about 10 minutes before she comes in here'

"..."

"23 Minutes... What do you even do that takes an extra 23 minutes for you to get ready for school, huh!?" Takumi grumbled, the two of them walking down the streets of Musutafu heading for U.A. High School

"Hmph" With a flick of her ponytail, Itsuka huffed in response, "A guy like you wouldn't understand" She stated, her hands in the pockets of her blazer as she kicked a stone along the floor

"No. I don't. So, please, tell me-" "Oo, would you look at that, we're at school!" Blatantly excusing Takumi's annoyed whining, Itsuka picked up her pace and walked further ahead of him, "Come on! We've got to make a good first impression!" She exclaimed, pumping her fist passionately before dragging Takumi by his wrist

"This 'First impression' better be why you took so long to get ready to the point we're almost late! This better not be a recurring thi-" With Itsuka's warm hand over his mouth, Takumi was unable to speak

"Stop being on your man period and let's get to class already!"

'I'M NOT ON MY MAN PERIO-'

After walking through the large hallways of U.A., the two friends finally arrived at their destination, "What a big door" Takumi stated, the two of them looking up at the colossal-sized door labelled '1-B'

"Thanks Captain Obvi-" Before Itsuka could finish, she received a light smack to the back of her head from no one in particular, "You bitc-" And another one from, once again, no one in particular, "I'LL KILL YOU!" With a scream, she went for a front kick which failed miserable as she ended up on the floor after getting tripped up by a nonchalant Takumi

"What a drag..." Reaching towards the door handle, he went to open the door to enter the class with a confused Itsuka who had recovered from the fall slowly getting up, "Let's just get this over with"

'What in the woman mood swing happened to him!?' She was baffled. One moment, he was energetic, angry, and loud. The next, a.k.a. now, he was lazy, quiet, and nonchalant, 'Sometimes I wonder if we were born the correct genders' After all, she felt like she acted more like a guy and Takumi acted (and looked) more like a girl at times.

"HELLO-" As Takumi pushed the door open, Itsuka brushed past him and enthusiastically made her presence known by loudly welcoming herself into the class, "..." However, what she hadn't expected to seen as soon as she entered the class was a bodyless head with long green hair right near her feet

Needing a few seconds to compute what she was seeing, her body finally caught up and reacted, "KYAAAA!" She screamed, extremely loud, jumping towards the closest thing in order to embrace it and calm herself down: Takumi Kazuma - who knew of her weakness of horror movies, which he always found hilarious and ironic considering she always seemed like the badass girl afraid of nothing

With a blank, stone face, Takumi avoided the girl's attempt to latch onto him which caused her to comically bump into a wall, landing on the floor once more, a majority of the present students laughing at her funny demise

"HAHAHAHA!" A young man with chin-length messy grey hair and black eyes lined with a very thick, jagged, tan-coloured substance bellowed in laughter, his rows of sharp, pointed teeth revealing themselves

"That was totally the best reaction today!" The head which spooked Itsuka in the first place spoke, floating in the air before latching itself onto its original body to reveal a young girl of average height with surprisingly large dusky green eyes, long lower eyelashes, and long hair a dark moss green, "Hahaha!" She laughed, also owning notably long and pointed teeth, walking over to the embarrassed Itsuka

"Sorry about that, I do that with everyone I meet for the first time..." With her arm outstretched, Itsuka grabbed the girl's hand and was pulled back up, "Though, I'm surprised you were so calm!" The girl remarked with an impressed grin, patting Takumi's shoulder with approval, "You're one of the only people to do that, so well done!" She gave him a thumbs-up

"Uh... right, haha..." Takumi chuckled awkwardly, 'It's probably best that I keep that fact that I almost pissed myself after seeing her head on the floor to myself' After seeing the head, his heart skipped a few beats which caused his mind to go blank, his conscious only regaining itself after seeing Itsuka 'attack' him from the corner of his eye, causing his body to instinctively move out of the way, 'Thank you, Sensei Kotetsu'

He would certainly keep this fact to himself, likely taking it to the grave for it to never be revealed to anyone else.

After being helped up by the detachable-head girl, Itsuka retook her place by Takumi's side as they looked at the girl in front of them, ""Nice to meetcha guys" She gave a playful salute and wink, "Setsuna Tokage's the name, what about you guys?"

She's social, that's for certain - Takumi and Itsuka agreed mentally as they introduced themselves to their new classmate, "My name's Itsuka Kendo, it's nice to meet you, Tokage-san" She gave a small bow

"Takumi Kazuma, 's a pleasure" Giving a small nod, he walked past the two girls who began chatting and began analysing the room and the people in it, '20 seats, 17 students present including me and Kendo. So there's still 3 more to come' He thought as he walked to the back of the class which, surprisingly enough, had no one seated there, 'Do people not like that back row these days?'

Not that he was complaining, because now it meant that one of the four seats were his. And so, he chose to sit at the table labelled 'No.10' before scrolling through his phone and checking the stock market to see if there was anything he should invest in to make back his money spent on purchasing the penthouse apartment.

A minute after he sat down, Itsuka walked past him and sat in the seat to his right labelled 'No.5', looking over at him with a teasing smile, "Thought you could get away from me, huh?" She whispered

"I could never leave you" He replied coolly, leaning back on his chair and resting on the wall behind him, "What, cat got your tongue?" He snickered, noticing Itsuka's silence but not looking up from his phone as he was too busy analysing the potential gain or loss of stocks if he were to invest. It's a shame, really. If he were to look up he would've seen that her cheeks were slightly tinted red

'Seriously... sometimes I feel like you're playing with my feelings on purpose' She sighed depressingly, turning her head away from Takumi while resting her chin on her hand with a sigh, 'Asshole...'

A few minutes later, two of the remaining three students arrived. One of them, a short boy with ice-blue hair and a round face who sat in seat 'No. 2'. The other, a short young man with fair skin and a blank, pale-white speech bubble as a head and neck which Takumi found weirdly cool as hell. He sat in seat 'No. 20', leaving only the seat beside Takumi, 'No. 15', remaining for the final student.

"Good morning, class" Unfortunately, the student appeared to be late as the teacher finally arrived. A very tall man of a bulky, muscular build, with lightly tanned skin, a few visible scars showing on his left cheek and the left side of his notably thick neck with short pale grey hair spiked upwards entered the class

'He looks strict' Takumi noted instantly, basing this opinion on the teacher's frown, 'Unless that's just his resting face'

The man stood in front of the class, a large chalkboard behind him and a brown pedestal in front of him, "You may know me, you may not..." He spoke, his voice strong and powerful as he picked up a piece of white chalk and faced the chalkboard, "My name is Sekijiro Kan" He wrote his name on the board, "But, I'd prefer if you referred to me by my hero name: Vlad King" He crossed out his actual name, drawing an arrow to his hero name before circling it multiple times, "Is that understood?"

"Yes!/Yes Sensei!/Understood, Sensei!" The students had many different variations of responding to the teacher, causing him to click his tongue repeatedly before slamming the chalk on the pedestal, his arms crossed as he puffed his muscular chest out and shouted, "INCORRECT! RESPOND WITH 'YES, SENSEI VLAD', IS THAT UNDERSTOOD?!"

"YES, VLAD SENSEI/Yes, Vlad Sensei..." The majority of the class consisted of quiet, reserved students who spoke quietly, so their response was much less enthusiastic than the likes of Setsuna Tokage and the sharp-toothed grey-haired guy

"MORE PASSION! IS THAT UNDERSTOOD!?" Vlad King shouted

"YES, VLAD SENSEI!" The students shouted in response, their larynx's (Voice Boxes) on the threshold of breaking as they internally wondered, 'Is this a hero school, or military school?!'

"Good job, class" As if he was controlled by a voice setting, his tone went from 100 down to 30 as he carried on with homeroom class, "Now, I'll be frank" He placed his hands on the pedestal, leaning over it as he looked down at the class which intimidated many, "Forget about the entrance ceremony, guidance sessions, any of those! As you're part of the hero course, you don't need to attend any of those.

Rather, you should be currently participating in a 'Quirk Apprehension Test'" He revealed, the students of 1-B curious as they wondered what they may do for this 'Test' which sounded fun almost, "However, Class 1-A are doing theirs currently, which means we must wait until they're done using the field before going ourselves. Because of this sad fact... we'll be doing an icebreaker to get to know each other better" He announced, "2 Truths and 1 Lie, to be exact... but before we do THAT, I need to take the register"

Walking over to his desk, Vlad King sat down in his chair and began calling out the names of the students one by one, "Yosetsu Awase... Kojiro Bondo... Manga Fukidashi" The three students responded with "Here" [Images]

"Karin Fuyuki" Vlad King called out, an energetic "Here!" surprising the entirety of the class, particularly Takumi who turned to his left to find the supposed 'empty' seat 'No. 15' was in fact not empty

Rather, sitting beside him was a stunning young woman with dark skin, pretty green eyes and long white hair tied up into a high-ponytail with many long strands of her in front of her face, "...!" The two made eye contact, Karin giving him a charming smile and small wave which he unconsciously returned in kind [Images]

'W-When did she enter the class... and how didn't I notice her?!' He wondered, his eyes wide as his gaze lingered onto the girl for quite a while until he turned away to not seem like a creep, 'And... I'm not the only one it seems' He concluded as he saw the students share the same facial expression and lingering thoughts as him

"Juzo Honenuki... Togaru Kamakiri..." [Images], "Takumi Kazuma"

Hearing his name being called out, Takumi raised his finger up lazily, "Here..." Vlad King looked at him, or rather, his chair, "Refrain from swinging on your chairs in class, please. Both I and the school would rather NOT deal with a complaining parent crying to us about their child getting hurt after THEY swung on their chair" He groaned, causing Takumi to stop swinging on his chair, "Itsuka Kendo..." She responded to her name

"Yui Kodai... Kinoko Komori... Shihai Kuroiro... Neito Monoma... Ibara Shiozaki... Jurota Shishida... Nirengeki Shoda... Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu... Setsuna Tokage... Kosei Tsuburaba... Pony Tsunotori... Reiko Yanagi..." [Many images, how fun]

"20 out of 20, perfect attendance, well done, class 1-B!" He congratulated before throwing the register away, literally, and pulling out a stack of post-it notes, "Yanagi-san, could you use your quirk to hand out 3 of these to every student, please?" Vlad King asked the dead-looking female student who quietly nodded before the post-it notes flew it groups of 3 and was delivered to each student

'A telekinesis-type quirk, huh?' Takumi was quick to note the girl's quirk in his head, 'Definitely a super useful quirk, a potential teammate' And was already planning out any potential candidates for hero teammates/connections in the future.

"Thank you, Yanagi-san" Vlad King sincerely thanked the girl, who simply nodded without saying anything, "As you can hopefully see, all of you now have 3 post-it notes on your desk. I want you to pull out a pen or pencil, which you SHOULD have, and write 2 truths on 2 separate post-it notes, and 1 lie on the third. After that's done, I'll explain how everything else will go"

It took 5 minutes for all the students to be done and ready, "Yosetsu Awase, come up to the front" The headband-wearing student in Seat 'No. 1' got out of his seat and stood in front of the chalkboard, awaiting Vlad King's instructions, "Now, I want you to read out your post-it notes one by one in a loud and clear voice! Once you read it out, stick it onto the chalkboard behind you. IS THAT UNDERSTOOD!?"

"Yes, Vlad Sensei!" The boy cleared his throat, and began to read his first note, "I'm a big fan of mobile games..." He then stuck it up on the chalkboard, "I share my birthday with Snipe..." And finally, "The reason I wear a headband is to hide a childhood insecurity of mine" After sticking his final post-it note, he looked to Vlad King, who turned to the class

"RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU THINK THE FIRST ONE IS THE LIE!" Only 3 raised their hands, "1 VOTE!" He wrote the number '3' underneath the post-it note, "RAISE YOUR HAND IF YOU THINK THE SECOND ONE IS THE LIE!" 6 raised their hands, which meant 10 people voted the childhood insecurity as the lie, Takumi and Itsuka included, "Which one was the lie, Awase-san?"

"It was the headband" He announced, a few incorrect students letting out dejected "Ahhh"s and groans, whilst the correct students cheered.

After Kojiro Bondo and Manga Fukidashi had their go's (Register order), Vlad King called up Karin to the front who walked over with a skip in her step, "First one: I'm related to a top 10 hero..." She stuck it up, "I'm a super fan of games and anime..." and finally, "I'm Half Japanese and Half European" Karin then turned to face the class with a big smile, her arms behind her back

Vlad King asked the class what they thought was the lie with the following vote: 10 for the first one (Including Takumi), 5 for the second (Mainly consisted of the weebs who don't believe that a girl could be interested in the same thing as them), and then 4 for the final one (Itsuka voted for this one)

"The lie was..." After a dramatic pause and drumroll, Karin swiped the third post-it note, "I'm not Half Japanese and European!" She stuck her tongue out, "I'm actually Half Japanese, and a Quarter European and Quarter Hispanic"

'Related to a top 10 hero... another one with good potential' Takumi nodded, watching as Karin returned to her seat with a calm gaze.

After 2 other students, it was Takumi Kazuma's turn and he went up to the front, "So... I'm a black belt in 5 different Martial Arts" He stuck it up, "I'm also a multi-millionaire" and finally, "My birthday's on May 8th"

The votes were pretty unsurprising: 5 Voted for the black belt option, 12 voted for the multi-millionaire, and Itsuka and Karin voted for the Birthday option, "My birthday's on the 9th, not 8th" He headed back to his seat, ignoring the envious and curious stares of his classmates.

"..." Vlad King's body jolted slightly due to his phone's vibration, "...That's the end of the game, class... Let's go; Change into your sport uniforms and head out to the field for the Quirk Apprehension Test"

-----

A/N: Expect quite a lot of 'Filler'/Slice of Life Chapters like this, but not too many frequent ones as it will just make the story slow and drag on which I don't want.

P.S. Just to clear up, I know I said no early romance, but it doesn't mean I won't set up potential interests (Hence why you can expect a bit of flirting or blushing/crushes, etc, but no actual dating for a bit)

Thanks for Reading
