Chapter 100: Fish's Christmas Gifts (Edited)

Although he was very reluctant to write greeting cards, Fish entertained himself and spent his free time writing 214 cards at Professor McGonagall's side.

At Professor McGonagall's suggestion, he also put a cat paw print on each card.

By the time Fish had finished writing the greeting cards, the Christmas vacations at Hogwarts had begun, and the school had become a little less crowded, leaving just him, Scarhead and Redhead No. 4 in Fish's dormitory.

But this isn't important to Fish, what's important is....

He didn't have to do his homework over the vacations!

"I love Christmas again, meow!" ?(●ΦωΦ●)?

Fish jumped and danced excitedly in the common room after learning that there would be no class and no homework for a long time.

And because of the vacations, Professor McGonagall had relaxed her restrictions on Fish, so she could go to the Forbidden Forest every day during the Christmas vacations, where he had only been allowed to go on weekends.

It's just that because the weather is too cold, Fish didn't run to the Forbidden Forest every day. He still stayed in the warm Common Room most of the time, either sleeping or playing games like Snap Explosives with Harry and the others who stayed at school.

Other than that, he would wander around the castle like he used to, have a snack with the teachers and school staff, or go to the Menagerie and rip cat toys, or go to the owl hut to find an owl to take him flying.

Occasionally, when a new idea occurred to him, he would go to Fluffy's house and try to see if he could get past him to get in through the trap door, but unfortunately he failed every time.

With this leisurely pace, it was soon time for December 25.

"Oh, my God!"

Early on Christmas Day morning, Ron's exaggerated screams echoed through the bedroom.

Awakened, Fish poked his little head under the covers and startled.

"Meow!" ∑(=ΦДΦΦ=)

The bedroom, which had been somewhat empty since Neville and the others had left, was now filled with boxes of gifts, large and small.

The area around Fish's bed was the most affected, with gift boxes stacked around his bed, and when he got out of it, he was greeted by an avalanche of boxes.

There was a rumble as Ron's head burst through the boxes, "Merry Christmas, Fish!" After a nod, he added with a look of envy, "As expected of you, receiving so many Christmas presents."

The stunned Fish came to his senses, it was Christmas, and these were all Christmas presents from others.

"It's time to open presents, meow!" (●?ω?●)?

Fish jumped out of his bunk, transformed into his cat-man form, and jumped onto the pile of presents.

There were so many presents that Ron and Harry went over to help Fish open them, setting their own presents aside first.

"Another snack, a chocolate frog from Hannah Abbott."

Ron, who had already unwrapped several snacks, deftly placed the card in the box on Fish's bed, then slipped the chocolate frog into a magic bag that had already been opened.

"I have a snack too," Harry said as he did the same as Ron, "It's a Bubble Gum."

"This finally isn't edible," Ron unwrapped another, "Oh, it's from Seamus, a box of Snap Explosives...and it's a limited edition."

"Professor Dumbledore sent... er... a big box of cockroach cones."

"Hagrid sent... ee.... a whole entire rock crust pie."

After unpacking several more food items, Harry made another discovery.

"I also found a gift that wasn't food..... tsk! It's a gift from young master Big Brain..."

Surely it was some kind of bad luck that he had opened a gift from Malfoy.

Harry looked at him in disgust and grimaced, "The statue of a golden cat really suits his pompous style."

"Meow?"

Hearing that it was a cat, Fish stopped what he was doing, reached out to grab the statue Harry handed him, looked it up and down and found two words written in very fancy letters on the base.

"Fat Cat?" Fish, who read the words smoothly, looked puzzled, "This cat is not fat."

As Fish wondered, the golden cat statue in his hand suddenly came to life, its smooth metallic surface turning into a furry texture.

The golden cat first licked Fish's fingers with its cool tongue, then arched its head against his palm and let out a soft meow.

But the meow made no sense to Fish. If I had to say it, it was a bit like the sound of a kitten calling to a big cat, but there were some differences in tone.

Fish lifted the meowing golden kitten up to his face and brought his nose close to it..... It smelled like a golden galleon.

He instantly lost interest in the golden kitten.

"It was made by transfiguration, no fun meow."

Tossing the golden kitten onto the bunk, Fish continued to unwrap the other presents, while the golden kitten fidgeted in the bunk itself for a while, before turning back into a motionless statue.

After opening a few more presents, the door to their bedroom burst open and Fred and George, dressed in blue sweaters, burst in.

"Merry Christmas!"

After the two finished shouting, they saw the pile of Christmas presents in Fish's room.

"Oh...that's really...," Fred said.

"An incredible sight." George continued.

"But it's understandable." Fred continued.

"After all, it's Fish." George continued.

Said the twins, before joining in to help open the presents, and shortly after Percy came over as well.

The six of them worked hard with the presents, grabbing a bit of food from the pile as they got hungry, and it took them most of the morning to finish opening all of Fish's Christmas presents.

Most of the gifts Fish received were assorted foods, and it was clear that everyone knew Fish was a snacker.

Some of the food was something Fish ate regularly, and some he had never seen before; the novelties were usually from Muggle society, some of which Harry had seen Dudley eat, but the Weasley brothers had never seen, and Fish generously gave them some.

But even after dividing it up, there was still too much food left, and even the bag with the extension charm Dumbledore had given Fish was too small to fit, so the excess had to be piled aside for the time being.

Other than food, the toys Fish received the most were from both the magical world and the Muggle side, which Fish looked at and set aside for the moment.

Most of them were not as interesting as the Snitch, he will continue to play when he has free time in the future. As for how long he can play with the toys, it depends on when Fish breaks or loses the toys.

The third most common gift was an assortment of plants, mostly from Hufflepuffs, probably because they had seen how Fish liked the potted plants in their Common Room, so several Hufflepuffs had sent a plant, including their dean, Professor Sprout.

Of all the gifts, there were a few that Fish liked or was interested in.

The first was a child's version of a flying broom given to her by Minerva, which Fish had already lost his taste for, but it was from Minerva, so he liked it.

Then there was Professor Greasehead's special candy, the same one he'd gotten for Halloween.

And the short-haired professor gave him a complete set of quidditch balls, and a silver whistle that controlled their movement.

There was also a magical climbing frame for cats from Professor Little (Flitwick), which, like the Hogwarts magic ladder, changed its structure every so often, making it a new experience each time.

In addition to gifts from some of the professors, there were some gifts from the students that Fish liked.

Among them was a book sent by Rat Teeth, "The Illustrated Guide to Cats of the World," which contained many species Fish had never seen before.

There were also a couple of boxes of music from the Muggle world, all of them from wizards born purely in the Muggle world, and although the boxes were not much fun, the music they contained was very appealing to Fish.

Finally, there was a gift from the twins, George and Fred, who had made their own magical headless hats, which made their heads disappear along with the hats, which Fish found very interesting.
