Side story #2

****Third-person P.O.V.

As soon as Kal-el inserted the key in the hole made for it, the drone floated away from him.

He turned to look at the projection of his biological father to get his reaction. Jor-el was staring behind Kal-el with a complex reaction that caused him to turn around.

"Ohh Kal-el" Lara spoke with a tiny shiver," You have truly grown up into a fine young man."

It didn't take a second for Clark to find who was standing in front of him.

"Mom??" He asked with a growing smile as Laura walked up to both of them.

"Yes, Kal. It was the toughest decision of my life to let you go away from me but it looks like it was the right decision in the end." She spoke as she raised her hand to stroke his cheek but couldn't.

"Is your cousin and uncle treating you well?" She asked smiling.

"Lara...." Jor-el spoke with a sorrowful tone," It appears that Kal-el now Clark spend the entire life unknown of his origin"

"Searching for my identity," Clark added.

"You mean....?" Lara gasped in horror.

"Sadly, it is the most likely possibility," Jor-el spoke with a soft but firm tone.

"Time truly is a monster. First, it stole our home from us, and then when we took drastic measures to ensure the survival of our children, our future, it once again played its hand." Lara lamented." Kara was such a sweet and loving child. Her parents died while thinking that at least their daughter would live but... such a tragedy."

"It is better this way, at least they died with peace and hope." Jor-el before walking forward and the other two followed him.

"Let's not dwell in the past now, we should be grateful for what we were able to save. The future of krypton is not completely lost. While it is sad that kar-el and kara-zor-el were not with us right now, with Kal-el the future of krypton will live on."

"With me?" Clark asked as they entered the command room.

" Yes, Kal. You were not just the first-natural born in centuries. You are also holder of the genesis codex that holds all the Kryptonian DNA and its unlimited potential."

"With it, you can do create krypton once again if you so like too."Jor-el finished.

" You mean to say that I can be the reason our civilization can once again flourish?" Clark asked with a silly smile.

"Only if you want Kal," Lara interjected their conversation.

"Our race was not perfect even after all the advancements we did in various fields."

"I agree, Kal. It will be easy to revive our race but the problem will come after that." Jor-el once again utilized the hologram tech to display Krypton and its solar system.

"Krypton was much harsher than earth but that's not the only different thing. Our sun was a red giant on the break of collapsing."

"While it's true that we could change our civilization to some other suitable solar system, there was a reason we didn't do that."

"Kal, like how humans are the crown jewel of evolution in your planet. Kryptonians could be considered as one of the five crown jewels of evolution in the whole known universe."

"We are extremely sensitive to stellar energies, especially the kind emitted by a young yellow star or a white star."

"Im sure you already somewhat experienced it after living under a yellow sun for so many years since childhood."

Lara continued after Jor-el stopped," What your father is trying to say is that if you revive our race, you will have to deal with people that have powers as you possess yourself. It will be impossible to stop them with only yourself."

"You mean, a whole planet worth of people that can shoot lasers from their eyes, see beyond barriers, hear a million words together, and have the strength to turn a submarine upside down?" Clark asked.

"Not just that, Kal. You haven't utilized the complete potential of your genes. It was kar-el's responsibility to do that but now you have to do it yourself." Jor-el turned to look at the horizon.

"Go out and test your limits. You will find that only your mind is stopping you from reaching another threshold of power. Keep testing your limits and find out that they were just an illusion that you created yourself to bound yourself with human reality."

Clark looked at his mother who smiled encouragingly while nodding before looking at the sun on the horizon from the glass of the spaceship.

***Scene change, Lois P.O.V.

It appears that my savior just disappeared after he left me on ice visible from the helicopters.

After some searching, it became clear that all the records of that person were completely forged, and no one knew where did that man disappear.

"What is this?" I asked my boss as I put my report on his desk.

"What what? What do you want, Lois?" He turned his chair around to face me before sighing.

"You know what I mean. Why did you not publish my article?" I asked with frustration showing on my face.

He is a good boss but sometimes he just behaves like a dick.

"Are you crazy? What do you want me to publish? This garbage will make you laughing stock if I published it. The great Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter publishing this garbage in her name? I saved you from ruining your reputation. Now listen to me and get back to work."

"But it was all true, are you claiming that I'm lying?"

He took a deep breath before putting his hands on my shoulders.

"Lios, don't do this. Have some common sense. It doesn't matter at all, whether I believe in you or not. What really matters is if your report sounds credible to your readers."

He continued," A spaceship sleeping inside more than 150 feet deep ice that is older than mammoths, a mysterious handsome man that could fire lasers from his eyes. What piece of it does not look like a paragraph straight out of a sci-fi book?"

"It's the army, isn't it?" I finally spoke my guess.

"Doesn't matter." He walked back to his seat.

"It matters, all of it makes sense now. They don't want people to find out that an ancient ship flew above their base with them just gawking at it with mouths wide open."

"Could you deny them, God damm it. What do you think will happen if people find out that something like that happened? They will go into panic mode. Let us all forget about it for now."

Before I could say anything else, "And you are going on a vacation to reflect on your decisions and I want to back with vigor and a healthy mind. Not a word, Lois."

*** A few days later.

"What do you want?" Clark asked the young journalist that somehow find him in a few days.

"First of all, thank you for saving my life from that bot or robot whatever the hell it was." Lois showed her Reporter card," I'm Lois Lane from the daily planet."

"I know who you are, miss lane. If you have come just to say thank you then I think not searching for me would have been enough." Clark remarked as he looked at his father's grave.

"Why did you not want to show yourself to the world?" Lois asked.

"What do you think will happen when I reveal my abilities to this world? The world is not a kind place. My father died while saying that to me." Clark walked slowly toward her.

"People are discriminatory to each other based on religion or race, what do you think will happen when they learn about my gifts?"

"On the day, we were returning to our home after a trip through the highway, I wa..."Clark still remembered his father's sacrifice for him on that day.

He sighed," I wish every day that I could go back in time to stop myself from being rude to my father just before he proved himself as my father by sacrificing himself. Sadly, that power I don't possess."

"I'm sorry, I will respect your and your father's wish as long as you remain as kind as you are." Lois smiled sorrowfully before taking her to leave the area.

***Scene change

"Oh, Clark. Come in." Martha welcomed her son into the house as her dog ran into his arms to greet him.

"I was expecting you after the reporter visited me asking about you. So, what happened?"Martha asked as she walked into the kitchen to prepare some snacks.

" She will not disturb us, at least she said she wouldn't."Clark followed her.

"More importantly, mom. I want to tell you something." Clark walked up to her before giving her a warm hug.

"What is it then? Did you finally have the courage to ask a girl out and she agreed?" Martha laughed surprised by the hug.

"I find out where I'm from." Clark smiled sweetly.

Martha widened her eyes as she put her hands on both of his cheeks," Ohh, I'm so happy for you right now. Your father would have been so happy."

"Yes, mom. He would have. The projection of my birth mother wants to meet you to thank you for adopting me and treating me like your own son." Clark once again gave her a warm hug.

"What do you mean projection?" Martha asked confused.

"Ahh, it all started in the borders of Canada and the U.S. The U.S. military found something buried ins...."

****Meanwhile at another place

"You said it was likely a rock, professor." Colonel turned to look at Dr. Emil standing beside him.

"Yes, and now I'm saying it is not. Asteroids tend to travel like that in exceptional circumstances so without visual aid I thought it was a rock but the screen clearly shows a spaceship."

"Well, Dr. What are the chances of this ship being here by accident?" Colonel asked as he looked at the ship orbiting behind Moon.

"Astronomically low. It likely used a high space technique to teleport directly here. These don't happen by accident. We tried sending signals but up till now we don't have any response." Dr. Emil replied.

"Then we better wish that it disappears before media learns about this otherwise it will be a disaster before they even enter the atmosphere." Colonel narrowed his eyes at the monitor.

***Scene change

All the electronic devices worldwide started to miss behave before broadcasting the same message.

"You are not alone."

"You are not alone"

***Martha's house

"Clark, this?" Martha looked at his son with worry.

"I don't know mom," Clark said as they took a seat while observing the T.V.

"People of earth, I'm general Zod of planet krypton."

"Two of our own have been living among you for years. We want them back to us."

"You have 24 hours before we take it on our own hands to get our people. The collateral damage would be large in that case."

"Kal-El and Kara-zor-El, I know you are listening to this. Return to us as soon as possible or the consequences will be on you both too."

"Oh, Zod. Dear Zod, sorry to interrupt your speech but I couldn't help but think that you are not informed about a thing and I must be responsible to inform you about that." It looked like Zod had more to say but a teasing voice interrupted him.

" KAR-El???" Zod's voice became cold and calculating as he exclaimed.

"I think you know about this but General is not a title that would be appropriate for you now, the right one would be traitor Zod or terrorist Zod. Whatever you like more."

"I mean, planning a coup is fine and all in my books but failing to succeed in it? You should have thought more about that. *Smirk* War criminal is the least of your titles now."

Suddenly, the voice became criticizing," You sure live in a dream if you think you can just come here and threaten my nephew and niece without suffering serious consequences."

"Did you forget how you were kneeling in front of me after being defeated in minutes? Go fuck yourself in some unknown galaxy and I will forget this ever happened."

"Who is you?" Zod asked after some silence.

"Did you get amnesia too, you psycho? I thought we were clear who I am just a minute ago?" The voice asked mockingly.

"You? Kar-el? hahaHaHaHa...." Zod laughed," You almost had me if I haven't seen..

To be continued....
