Storm. Part 3

"Amazing."

Nolamine could not help but think out loud. Son-join was running in front of him and was faster than any Olympic sprinter at that moment.

They reached where they had been fighting and only found the short boy who had a swollen dislocated jaw.

With the blood leading outside, it was apparent that the other two had left him there while they got away when they saw Nolamine going up the steps. He was still unconscious.

"I will find you later. Do not stop running until you reach your house."

Nolamine said as he turned around to face whatever was coming after them. Son-join just nodded. He did not know what was going on, only that it had gotten Nolamine worked up.

That was enough for him to get the hell out of there. He would always get out of his way when a fight was about to start so that he could not hold him back.

All the weapons were still on the floor. Nolamine took the knife and the brass knuckles and put them in his pockets. He then took the bat and it was going to be his primary weapon because of its reach.

He would have opted to have the brass knuckles on but it would make holding the bat troublesome.

There were only three cars in the parking lot. He wasted no time as he grabbed the unconscious boy who was in the middle of the lot and dragged him towards one of the cars that was close to him, trying to hide him from the monster.

Unfortunately, he could not do what he wanted to do as the was no time. The monster had reached the ground floor and was looking at him, pacing up and down as it looked like it was studying him.

Knowing that the boy had been seen and that it would attack at any moment, he left him as he was at least not in the middle of the lot anymore and right about next to the car.

He then ran with all his might to launch the first attack at something so nightmarish, Son-join would faint by just looking at it, but this was not Son-join, it was a boy who faced bullies all his life head-on, who some would call monsters.

He ran so he could fight a distance away from the unconscious boy.

"Hehehehehe..."

It laughed again as it met his challenge and ran to meet him. The laugh still sent chills to Nolamine.

"Fast!"

He said as in just seconds it had covered twice the distance he had.

He stopped, but the momentum from running made him slide on the floor. The school shoes he was wearing contributed to not having the grip to make him stop right then.

But, that was what he wanted to do as he swung his bat while he slid through the lot. It looked cool but it was a calculated move as the monster had leaped when it was at a close distance, trying to go for his neck.

He had put all his strength into the attack and when the bat met with the head of the monster, his eyes went wide because of what happened. When it struck, the monster had turned into black smoke, going around him as it did so.

His mind was at sixes and sevens at that point. He had only seen such a thing in movies and anime.

His confusion only lasted a second, the thought of knowing that the thing he was fighting wanted his life made him stay focused.

He wished he hadn't put all his strength on that attack as since he had hit nothing but smoke, the momentum made him spin around, making him lose his footing.

To his credit, he did not fall down, but to his dismay, the monster had materialized in the seconds it took him to spin around and lose his footing. It jumped at him again with its disgusting and smelly mouth open.

Nolamine pushed the bat in its mouth as he tried to block it from biting him. The bite was so strong that it almost bit through the bat in one bite. It bit on it a second time and its jaws went through the bat like it was chewing down on a biscuit.

Nolamine knew that was going to happen when he first saw how strong its first bite was and he did not panic. When it bit the second time, he let go of the bat and swiftly took out the knife.

It was taller than him when on two legs, which was how it was standing when trying to bite through the bat. Biting through it prompted it to land on its front legs as Nolamine pulled back after letting go of the bat.

A knife went in its lower jaw, through its mouth, and out its skull as it landed on the ground.

It was like it felt no pain as it backed away from him. The knife was still lodged in its mouth.

"Heheheheh..."

Now Nolamine was scared. He had managed to stab its brain but it was not dead and to make things worse, it was laughing, almost mocking him.

The one eye it had seemed dead as it was rotten, but the way it moved and its actions seemed to suggest it was intelligent to some degree.

He watched as it used its hands.... its hands.... its disturbing and horrifying hands. Hands that had no right of hanging on a monster's stomach, for they could only be described as human babies hands.

It used them to take the knife out of its head. With goosebumps running all over his body, he put on the last of the weapons he had on him, the brass knuckles.

As he did, he looked at it as it tried to hold the knife with its baby hands after it managed to pull it out, failing as the handle was bigger than them.

He did not know whether to be relieved or horrified that a monster would try to use a weapon.

It looked at him as he took a fighting stance, now wearing the brass knuckles. It opened its mouth at him, making him put his guard up.

He was shocked to see fleas, flies, and other nasty bugs together with yellowish goo being launched at him using its mouth.

He could not dodge it but something told him he did not need to as he looked straight at the incoming filth. He felt no danger as it closed in.

'What, an illusion?'

He thought as the filth disappeared right in front of him. An uppercut met with a monster's head as it appeared in front of him, right as the illusion disappeared. It was like his eyes could see right through it and he could see the monster coming.

"Damn it."

He winced in pain. He had followed his uppercut with a hook to its jaw but its skull was hard. It had taken the punches like a final boss of a dungeon and swiped at him using its left paw that was kin to a claw.

Its razor-like claws had sunk deep into his chest, making a wound like he had been cut three times. The veins around the wound bulged and turned yellowish-green. Seeing its chance, it went on the attack again.

Nolamine managed to dodge the following attacks while landing several hits, but the brass knuckles were not the right weapon for such a monster.

His wound was getting worse each second that passed, but he had managed to dodge and rolled on the ground. A move he did because the knife was at that point right next to him.

It came at him relentlessly, but this time around he could not stab it as it would turn into smoke each time he did.

Only minutes had passed as the fight raged on but Nolamine was getting weaker and tired at the same time.

Whatever was causing his veins to turn to a sickly color was spreading fast. He coughed up blood as the monster launched itself again, trying to go for his neck.

He dodged and this time around managed to stab it in its neck as he moved to the side. A claw struck his face as the same kind of wound was left on his left ear, cheek, and neck. He was in pain but it was nothing compared to what followed next.

A punch landed on his stomach as the monster was still standing on its hind legs. It had come from its baby hands and it was so powerful that it sent him flying and rolling on the ground.

At that point, Nolamine had no problem cursing babies because of this monster.

It was a shock, surprise, and everything in between. He puked out blood like an open tap and the pain was unmeasurable. He tried to breathe but could not until he puked out even more blood.

"Hehehehe..."

The sound made him look in its direction. He was by the exit and had passed the unconscious boy who was by a car a distance from the exit.

He watched as the monster laughed and ignored him, going for the helpless boy. He could not bear to see what was going to happen next as it was him who rendered the boy unconscious and unable to defend himself.

He had dropped the knife and was weak and defenseless. He tried getting up but he could not as his strength left him.

He looked around helplessly, trying to find something that could help him, only to find the pool of blood that was from him. It had some kind of black substance mixed in with it.

He looked at the monster with regret. He did not know why he did not run and leave as him doing what he did now resulted in two people being killed.

He stopped his train of thought and pointed all his anger at the monster. It was its fault for wanting to kill them, not his.

As cold and heartless as he was to his enemies, he could not leave someone behind that he had something to do with not being able to save themselves, even though they were a bully.

Taking off his brass knuckles, he threw them at the monster with each one of them landing next to it.

It put its guard up for a second, but seeing that its prey was making a pointless struggle, it continued to its free meal, wanting to eat what he was trying to protect right in front of him.

"No... cough, cough. No, no, no, no, no....."

They were the only words he could say as he coughed out some more blood and the whole of his body turned sickly.

He watched as the monster bit into the unconscious boy's neck in anguish and horror, as it would be the first time he saw someone die right before his eyes.
