Chapter 64
The boy carefully left his room, knowing that if his parents saw him with all of these most important things that they would be concerned. He snuck down the stairs slowly, and out the front door, carrying the bag in one hand, and the watch in the other.
When he reached the ocean, the boy kicked off his summer shoes and ran to the water. As he approached it, he could tell that the water was choppy and rough, but he did not mind, because he loved the ocean all the time, when it was turbulent, and when it was calm.
“I will be fine,” the boy said to himself. “I have swum in water like this before and never been harmed, and I am older and wiser than I was yesterday.”
The boy waded into the water, surprised at how quickly it became deep on this day, and how soon it wet him, splashing against him, higher and faster than he could ever recall. Still, the boy laughed, and continued to move into the water because he loved the ocean, when it was turbulent, and when it was calm.
