"Good morning, doctors," Bruce greeted the four people in white lab coats politely.

"Morning Bruce, working late, are we?" one of them friendrily asked.

"It's your fault for skipping around the building," Bruce joked, making the man laugh. He then turned and continued following his friends, especially the woman. Once they were out of sight, Bruce's expression changed to serious.

"So that's future Dr Manhattan. He's only a normal human now so he's not dangerous," he said as he put his mop down. He looked around, made sure he was the only one left in the entire laboratory before heading to the machine that would give birth to the most powerful Mary Sue in history.

"There you are, my magnificent little angel," he lovingly said, caressing the door into the chamber.

"Intrinsic fields, I don't know what you are but you will be my ticket up," he said before looking at the calendar on the wall. It said it was August 3, 1959. This was the year and month Jon Ostermann would be transformed into Dr Manhattan. Bruce had been waiting for this moment for a very long time, it was the reason he had turned into one of the best janitors in the entire country for that was the only way he could think of entering this project.

"Let's start my ascension to power," he smiled looking at the testing chamber before going back to cleaning.

The following day, work started as normal. The scientists were busy doing their sciency stuff and Bruce was watching them like a hawk. He had mastered each of their schedules to the dot. During lunch time, he knew the scientists would settle down for a small break before they would test stuff inside the test chamber It was the perfect moment to do whatever he was planning to do.

He walked towards the test chamber, making sure he walked with purpose. The base was monitored heavily due to Russian spies all over the country. Former allies now enemies, United States of America would soon start a Cold War with Russia and the Russians were having a head start in spying on the Americans.

"Afternoon Bruce," someone greeted him and he replied with a nod, not losing focus on the container filled with water he was pushing with a mop. Reaching the testing chamber, be hid out of sight with his tools of work and waited.

'Just in time,' he rejoiced as he saw three scientists walk out of the chamber. 'My chance is now!'

With a mental roar, he ran towards the closing doors and managed to get inside in a hair's breadth. He sighed in relief before looking around the chamber. The entire thing was white as if it was offering him condolences. He nodded to himself before sitting down and waiting for the chamber to be switched on.

'This will hurt like a son of a bitch. Good thing I have one 'get out of jail free card' wish I had asked the ROB to give me. This will help me actually succeed here,' he thought.

'But it is going to hurt, like really hurt. Having to be pulled apart atom from apart should be excruciating painful, especially for a sapient cellular orgasm like me! Shit, here I am talking like a scientist, have hang around the nerds for too long,'

When he was having the mental conversation with himself, a low hum was heard around him. With the hum, the room got brighter and Bruce felt the hairs all over his body rise. This was a response most animals with fur or feathers have when something really dangerous is about to happen to them.

'This is it,' he told himself as the lights got brighter. 'This is the moment I become a powerhouse on my own right!'

Suddenly, searing pain spread all over his body, making him scream. He tried to move but his nerves were not listening to him at all! The pain he was feeling was his instrinsic field being torn apart while he had consciousness, it was truly the most painful thong he had ever experienced. Slowly, he started to disintegrate, making him wish for an even faster death. Soon, nothing of him was left behind, not even his ashes!
