A long day

The single battle ended just as the skies started to dim and the two shining moons appeared up the violet-colored skies filled with twinkling stars.

Luna saw the Advanced Mages lighting up their magic staffs as well as the vice-leader. Then, they signaled her and Blair to walk near the vice-leaders' set-up golden throne near the stage. A magic circle shone brightly beneath them the moment they walked up to the mages.

Another mage went to them and quietly asked for their names before the vice-leader announced the winners.

"Everyone, new and old students, they are the year's single battle champion and the 2nd place! Lady Luna Noir sien Mendelevinn is our champion while Blair Rosenheim made it to the 2nd place!" he said.

The audience sitting around the arena cheered up in delight. Luna smiled in happiness.

'It seems like we've shown them a good fight,' Luna thought.

"As everyone knew, there will also be a team battle that will be taking place tomorrow morning. May the new students continue to show their talents filled with potentials. Furthermore, the winner for today's single battle will not be able to join tomorrow's event to give way to others. That's all, enjoy your evening," the vice-leader said.

Luna somehow planned to also join the team battle but she would not be able to. It was really ironic. Someone from the healer class joined a single battle and be the winner while not being able to join the team battle where a few healers joining wasn't uncommon.

'At the very least, I will be able to have rest,' Luna said.

They walked down the arena as the event already ended. She looked for her three roommates around the sea of people. Although there were some small oil lamps to light up the open place, it was still hard to find them.

Furthermore, Blair continued to follow her around. At first, she thought that it was a coincidence that he's going the same way but she's been going around in a circle for a few minutes already.

Luna turned around and face him with her awkward smile.

"Uhm, Blair don't you have something to do? Why are you following me around?" Luna asked.

The man eyed him innocently and shook his head.

"I don't have something to do today. As your dearest friend, I will just accompany you," Blair said.

Luna scratched her cheeks lightly and didn't know what to do. He's the same as Ryle though to a different degree.

"Well, you can just rest. I'm just finding for my roommates and will also rest afterward," Luna said.

"Then I'll accompany you till they show up," he said.

Luna nodded and let him be. During their walk, some people continued to gaze at them even outside the arena though not one attempted to approach them. It was either they were cautious of her as the student of the Honorable Master Mage or it was about Blair's crazy fighting style.

They waited for her roommates outside the arena. Luna didn't know if they stayed the whole time during the event but they seemed not the type to leave Luna as they sincerely showed their excitement earlier about her powers.

Her guess was proven right when Luna saw the three familiar senior students walking around the exit of the arena with their heads busily looking around the passing people.

Luna walked near them and wave her hands.

"Luna!" Ashley said.

"We've finally found you," Sylvette followed.

"Finally. Congratulations to our winner," Lisha said.

The three of them tightly hugged her in delight and release her after. Luna who wasn't used to this kind of thing just smiled at them awkwardly.

"I'm right, you will fit just right into our Sapphire section," Sylvette said.

Then Ashley looked at her with twinkling eyes and held both her hand.

"Now I knew why our Honorable Master Mage accepted you. When I saw your fire magic element, at first sight, I can feel its overwhelming power like him!" Ashley said.

'Yeah, but that's not the main reason I become his student though it will always be just a secret,' Luna thought.

Lisha smiled at Luna. "Get used to Ashley. He is her idol ever since she saw our Honorable Master Mage's display of power in his teens," she said.

"It's okay," Luna uttered.

It looked like she would continue to learn more about Akiro during her stay here in the Academy. It wasn't that important but she couldn't help but get overly curious.

Meanwhile, the three of them looked at her back almost at the same time. Ashley was the one to approach Blair who stayed quiet this whole time.

"Oh my, if it isn't the 2nd placer! Your strong-willed heart while fighting is amazing for starters! Also, I wish I have ashen hair instead of ashen eyes. Some people almost mistook me for being blind!" she said.

Although Lisha went towards her with menacing eyes as Blair felt uncomfortable upon her sudden talks.

"Ashhhleyyyy," Lisha whispered.

The latter immediately laughed nervously and stopped her chatters.

"It's a pleasure to meet Lady Luna's roommates. I'm Blair Rosenheim from a small merchant's family in the East Village," Blair introduced.

"Nice to meet you. Just call me Lisha, and this is Lady Ashley from a Knight's family and Lady Sylvette from a Marquis' family," Lisha said.

All of them continued to talk while walking to the huge gray castle. There were still several castles around the Magic Academy but this one was the chosen castle for this year's new students.

The four of them said goodbyes to Blair as his room could be found on the third floor.

Meanwhile, Luna felt relaxed upon sitting on the soft and comfortable couch inside the room.

'It's been a long day!' Luna thought.

"I have moved your luggage inside your room. Your bedroom is on this door without a nameplate. You can place one later if you like," Sylvette said.

They were the ones left in the living room as Lisha and Ashley went inside their rooms to do something.

"Thank you. I think I'll place one," Luna said.

"You know, I'm still surprised that I see you here in the academy. I've been thinking that you came from a faraway place and is likely to leave Magus Nation in a few weeks. Though it's just an assumption," Sylvette said.

Luna could feel her fast-beating heart. Sylvette was the one who clearly remembered her face while wearing her previous clothes on Earth. Nothing was dug up though it's best to be wary.

"You're somehow wrong in some aspects though I really can't explain it in detail. Let's just say we have our own secrets to hide," Luna said.

Sylvette didn't go any further as she understands it very well speaking from experience. Although, someone would not be able to avoid being curious as Luna was heavily linked to the Honorary Master Mage.

"You're right though I advise that you avoid staying alone in some areas," she said.

"I'll keep that in mind," Luna said.

She wasn't that scared. Cowardice would do nothing in her improvement. They could trouble her as long as they like but she would not be held responsible for the consequences.

Sylvette failed to see gleam through Luna's eyes as she went back to her room.
