Chapter 56: Unleashing the Darkness

I dropped Megan's hand and pushed my hair out of my face. "Sorry. I'll keep looking on how to break our bond. Sorry, you're tied to a monster."

Before she could say anything, I rose, marching over to Jasper, Kento and Reed. "Now please, heal them."

"I told you I can't. Now while we're - "

"Try or so help me I'll see if Jenkins was telling us the truth that we'd both die if one of us does."

"Fine." She scooted over to them, then picked up a blackened stick. "I normally don't need a focal point, but maybe having something will help."

I brushed my hands down my sweatpants, then bent over and found a small stick too. "Maybe I can help too?"

She shuddered. "You want to risk trying and possibly blasting them like you did the trees here?"

"Right." I dropped the stick and wanting to loan her my magic if I could. Just bring back my men.

"Haec cura viris. Magicae nigrae, ut novis epistolis, nocere. Haec cura viris."

Silently, I mouthed the spell along with her, willing it to work.
