We landed with a thud in the center of Meredith’s study. It was the room where I’d spent most of my time and had the clearest image of Meredith’s house.
I just prayed someone was here.
Despite our less-than-graceful landing, Valen didn’t make a sound. I felt my panic spike as I extricated myself from the tangle of limbs and Valen remained still.
“Meredith! Lucas!” I yelled. My senses were too skewed to determine if they were in the cabin.
Once I could sit up, I turned my attention to Valen who was lying unmoving on the floor. His eyes were closed, and he had gotten paler in the time it had taken us to reach here.
I knelt over him and shook his shoulder anxiously. “Valen? Can you hear me?”
