Asking Out

"Hey look, I'm really sorry for walking into you man. I didn't mean it! Please don't be mad at me," Daniel explained himself.

"I called you here for business and not to snoop around," Alexander said while glaring at him.

"Hehe, I better go now, you guys have a lot to talk about," Grey said as he stood up and escaped Alexander's room. But on his way out, he heard Alexander talk, "I'll deal with you later," he said which made Grey gulp.

"Chill Alex, give the guy some space," Daniel chuckled but he just received another cold glare from Alexander.

"Why did you call me here? Need help on something?" Daniel asked.

Alexander sat on the sofa and crossed his legs, "I heard Jacob Lockwood wants to partner with the Crooks," he said.

"Yeah, he stopped by the company yesterday and offered a billion worth investment in the perfume business. Why do you ask?"

"Perfume, that's the business you're managing right?" Alexander asked.

"Yep, but why are you even asking? Do you plan to invest too?" Daniel asked in confusion. Why was his cousin suddenly interested in the Crook family business?

"I want you to do something for me," Alexander said.

"Wow, this is new. You actually asked for help? Hmm… What is it?"

"I want you to lure Jacob in. Accept his investment."

"I originally wanted to accept his offer so we can expand in Asia, but I'm having second thoughts now. What are you planning Alex? Did the man do anything to you?" Daniel questioned. He knew when his cousin is about to deal with someone and right feels exactly like that.

"He didn't do anything to me, but to Sabrina yes. I have to deal with him once and for all," Alexander answered while he reached out for the wine glass and wine bottle above his drawer.

"Uhm Sabrina who?" Daniel raised his brows on Alex. But his expression instantly changed, "Oh! The woman from the kitchen?" he asked and Alexander nodded in response.

"Why what did he do to her? Harassed her?"

"That's one," Alexander responded. When Sabrina told him that he forcefully kissed her in the fire exit, he was already readying himself to destroy Jacob.

How dare he kiss her forcefully and blame her for seducing him?

"Hmm I see… but wait! Quick question, is Sabrina your girlfriend or something?" Daniel asked.

"Yeah she is," Alexander responded.

Instantly, Daniel gasped in surprise. He covered his mouth and acted like he was hurt, "How dare you and Grey leave me all alone and single!" he said dramatically, "I thought we'll be the singles triumvirate but you guys! You traitors!" he said as he pointed at Alexander accusingly.

"Will you act serious here?" Alexander shot him a death glare and Daniel fixed himself immediately.

"As I was saying, lure the guy in. After you finish signing the papers with him, tell me immediately," Alexander said as he sipped from the wine glass he was holding.

"What do I get in return for doing this? I'm giving up the chance to open in Asia here. You can't ask me to do this for free."

"I'll invest in your company."

Instantly, Daniel's eyes twinkled, "Really! You mean that right?" he said in excitement while he bounced up and down.

"Yeah,"

Daniel had tried to persuade Alexander a bunch of times already to invest on his company, but this man refused all the time. He didn't want to associate himself with the Crooks so Daniel gave up a long time ago.

But right now it was Alexander who was offering! What a delight!

"Okay I'll go get someone to prepare the contract now. Don't you turn back on your words! " Daniel said as he stood up and headed for the door. But before he left, he turned around and looked at Alexander, "I'm glad to see you happy Alex, you deserve it," he said then walked out of the room.

"I guess I do," Alexander whispered to himself as he swirled the wine glass on his hand.

Ever since his mom died, he stripped himself of happiness. He can't bear the thought of being happy while he knew that his mother had suffered before. Although it was already a long time ago, the memory was still fresh on his mind.

Alexander was a man who didn't believe in love. After what his dad did to his mother, he never believed on it again.

If love was real, how come his dad abandoned his mom?

If love was real, why did he show nothing to Alexander?

If love was real, he wouldn't have suffered all those years.

But now right now, after Sabrina entered his life, everything had changed. His perception about love changed.

In a short span of time, Sabrina changed him in so many ways that even he, didn't notice.

Sabrina was his life's turning point. She gave him the happiness he never thought he'd ever experience. He just wished that everything will work out just fine between them. He was worried that she would suddenly run away from him.

After all, both of them only knew each other for a short amount of time and their relationship can't be considered stable yet.

Lost in his thoughts, Alexander snapped out when he suddenly heard a knock on his door.

"It's me," Sabrina spoke from outside.

"Come in," Alexander responded.

Slowly, Sabrina twisted the knob and entered the room.

"Do you need anything?" Alexander asked her.

"Erm… I was thinking, since we don't have anything to do today… maybe you want to…" Sabrina rubbed her palms together as sweat started to come out.

"Maybe what?" Alexander raised his brows on Sabrina.

"Uhm… Do you want to eat dinner outside? Just the two of us?" she asked nervously.

Sabrina thought of asking Alexander out today. She wanted to thank him for all the things he had done for her and also to make up for shouting at him the other day. She felt extremely guilty when Grey told her the story of Alex. She kept on thinking about it.

"Are you asking me out on a date Ms. Walker?" Alexander smiled.

"Maybe?"

Alexander stood up and walked to Sabrina. He wrapped his arms around Sabrina's waist and pulled her closer to him.

"How cute of my girlfriend to ask me out. How can I say no?" Alexander smiled.

Sabrina's face instantly heated up because of Alexander. She wasn't used to the word 'girlfriend' yet.

"I reserved a table at 8 at the restaurant we went before," she said while she avoided Alexander's gaze.

"Sounds good to me," Alexander said. Sabrina then, tried to free herself from Alexander, but the man won't let her.

"Let me go now Alex, I have to memorize my lines. I'm nearly recovered," Sabrina scolded him.

"I'll let you go after you give me the kiss I missed at the kitchen," he told her playfully.

"No way! You lost it already, now let me go," Sabrina said as she tried to pull away from him.

"Please?" Alexander pouted.

Wow, look at this man!

"Okay, let me go first," Sabrina glared at Alexander.

"No, you'll run away," Alexander responded.

"I won't," Sabrina instantly replied. She even raised her right hand to swear.

Alexander then, loosen his arms and let her go, "If you run away I'll get back at you," he glared at her, "Okay, now give me my kiss," he said.

"You're not so shameless aren't you Mr. Alexander?" Sabrina said sarcastically but Alexander just shrugged in response.

"My kiss," Alexander demanded.

"Close your eyes first," Sabrina said and Alexander complied immediately, "Don't open it," she said while she slowly stepped back from Alexander.

As soon as she reached the door, she turned around to open it, but a hand suddenly shut it close.

"You said you weren't going to run away," Alexander said, "How should I punish you for breaking your promise?"

Sabrina instantly gulped. She slowly turned around and looked at Alexander, "Baby, I know I'm wrong. Forgive me please?" she said as she placed her palms together.

"I don't think I can do that," Alexander said while he smiled at her meaningfully.

"Baby please?" Sabrina pleaded but Alexander grabbed her hands and pinned them on the door.

"You can't escape this baby," Alexander said. He leaned forward and moved his face closer to Sabrina.

Sabrina instantly closed her eyes when she saw Alexander move closer to her. She was already readying herself for this kissing monster, but instead of feeling his lips on hers, she felt him kiss her on the forehead.

Her eyes instantly opened and Alexander was already looking at her.

"Go memorize your lines now. You can't embarrass yourself in front of your new leading man," Alexander said as he pulled away from Sabrina.

Sabrina immediately escaped Alexander's room. She should really think twice before entering that room.

Being inside a room with only Alexander is very dangerous for her.

That man is a monster!
