If it weren't for being at David's parents' house and the great respect for them, perhaps Petra would have tried to stay out of the sight of Lyon, who had locked her down mercilessly. 

Instead, Petra prepared to resign and asked Lyon to speak to David's parents as a representative for CoMet inc. Inhaling the faint perfume of Lyon's clothes mixed with sweat. It's not something easy for Lyon to do all the work that Paul is supposed to do. 

Because Paul would rather deal with the mess that David and Jeri made at Metropol than having to go to prison in Laynahui or meet David's parents, who couldn't have been surprised by the actions of David, the son they were always proud of.
