Chapter 1 - Gaurav

Only son of the owner of Kaling group of industries, Mr. Satish Chandra, Gaurav Chandra is hard working and no nonsense kind of person. In his 28 years of life and 5 years of work experience after completing his MBA from a prestigious university, he has expanded the business of Kaling industries to many new lines which have become profitable quickly. His new thought process was initially resented then grudgingly accepted by many faithful employees of his father.

After proving himself to everyone, today he is ready to present to everyone his Dream project.

"Asha Aunty, breakfast please" shouted Gaurav as soon as he rushed out of the bathroom. Today he had to reach office early .

When Gaurav reached the breakfast table, he found his mom, Mrs. Deepali Chandra was already present at the table.

"Mom, do you need to reach somewhere?" asked surprised Gaurav.

"No, my child, I need to talk to you about something" replied Deepali.

"I need to reach office really early today. I have a very important presentation. Can this wait till the evening?" exclaimed Gaurav.

" I'll just take your 5 minutes" replied Deepali patiently.

"Ok Mom, but, please only 5 minutes. If it takes more than that then can we please talk in the evening?" replied Gaurav.

Deepali smiled and said "I just want to tell you that daughter of my childhood friend Kiran will be staying with us for few months. She has got admission in Fine Arts in the prestigious Fine Arts college in the city. She is a very talented artist."

"Ok Mom but why are you telling me about it?I hope you don't expect me to babysit her. I don't have time." Exclaimed Gaurav.

" I want you to receive her on the airport at 7 pm" replied Deepali.

" But why? Can not driver or somebody else do it if you are busy?"

" no it has to be a family member. We don't want her to feel unwelcome and this is final. I will not hear any arguments."

" Ok Mom. I will receive her." replied Gaurav in a resigned tone. He knew if his Mom has decided anything then you cannot say no to her. Business was run by his father but their life was firmly in hands of his Mom and she was perfect balance of indulgent and strict.

" Excellent, I will message her Flight details and photo to you. Please don't be late"

" Sure, Mom".
