Life In Avater...

(A.N there will be a lot of time skips in this chapter)

[Badger mole home -not far from the beifong estate]

In a dark hollowed out cavern the sound of giggles could be heard, a bare foot girl playing with these creatures that called this place home, sliding your feet across the ground. After spending so much time with them and learning from them, using these teachings to help her learn Earth bending. They were the first earth benders, Who could be a better teacher.

Even though she couldn't see the world, these creatures helped her to develop. Learning to see with her bending, sensing the vibrations with in the earth. Continuing with this training she could feel peoples heartbeats, being able too tell if people were lying or not. One day after the training and playing, She wandered throughout the cave surprisingly she sensed a heartbeat. Not loudly thumping like the badger moles, no more rhythmic and steady. Making her way to the steady heartbeat she came across a mother mole. Using feet too see the outline of a child, finally finding the culprit. Walking up to the boy as the badger mole mother licked the boys face.

" hey what are you doing here?" Toph spoke out loud to the boy, getting no response.

" hey are you listening to me!" she spoke again, move her feet shifting the ground under the boy.

"Uhhhh *yawning, i'm sorry I didn't think anyone would be here" The boy spoke, rubbing his eyes as he lifted his body.

"so you were sleeping, well can you answer my question?" Toph said back to the boy shifting her feet, her eyes looking elsewhere.

"oh wow, your eyes are so pretty" The boy says, looking at her grayish white eyes.

"Uhhh?, what are you talking about?" Blushing a small amount, surprised someone actually said something about her eyes, without a hint of pity. Soon composing herself, reeling in her childish attitude. Stomping her foot has a small cylinder shaped piece of earth protruding from the ground attending the launch the boy.

"That's not very nice, did i say something wrong?, they are pretty" The boy said, moving faster then the girl could feel.

"Tch, keep the cutesy stuff to yourself, now tell me why you're here?" Crossing her arms as she said.

"nothing special just like it better than outside, with them I can be myself" he said, leaning back on the mother Mole again.

"I know the feeling" she said, thinking of her mother and father who treated her like she was so fragile.

"you don't mind do you?, I won't bother you" he said seeing your face, that was in the deep thought.

"No it's fine they don't seem to mind" she spoke, while moving forward, Petting the mole mother's soft fur.

"thanks, can I ask your name." The boy said, asking a straightforward question.

The girl remain silent for a while, thinking about what she should tell him.

"You don't have too tell me it's fin...." The boy tried to say, getting interrupted.

"It's fine, I'm Toph, what's yours" finally speaking, thinking it was ok too say this much.

"Nice too meet you toph, I'm obito" the boy said while he smiled.

"Obito?, if you do anything too hurt them or this place.." she tried to say, getting interrupted.

"I would never" he said, giving her a questioning look, but soon smiled.

"Good" she said, finally smiling, reading his heart beat.

Soon the two spent more time together, laughing,playing and sharing with each other, learning that the boy was a orphan. Toph told the boy about her family. They grew close over time, she was surprised to hear he was a non-bender, when she questioned him about how he sees in this dark place. He told her he could see similar to her, training too feel the littlest changes that happened around him. Over time they fought, he let her win everytime. She told him about her being born blind being treated like some doll. He told her he was glad because his face was ugly. This made her sad, they both had something that people saw as a disability, after feeling his face, this lead too him teasing her about it. One day after fighting he flickered her forehead, telling her she won't be able too see but it's better then black and white. Helping her seeing the world in color in a way. Teaching her too react faster, continuously sending out vibrations with out pause,for times when she needed too be alert. Years they spent together, the boy living among the moles, toph visited him everyday, even bringing clothes and food.

"Obito will you, *taking a deep breath, will you ever leave this place" she said, they both laid on the mother mole, she looked up finding the courage.

"Yeah, well one day I will have too, I can't stay in this place forever" the boy said, turning his head too her.

"Oh" she said, turning her head too hide her tears, she did not want to lose her first friend, someone she cared about most.

"But it won't be for a while toph, so please don't cry" he said pulling her chin, wiping away her tears as he smiled.

"Really?, maybe by then I can try too ask my parents about helping you" she said, finding hope that there was a way to stay together.

"Yeah that sounds nice, just know this toph when you need me I'll be there, enough of the sad talks didn't you want too tell me something?" He said, leaning up, turning his body too her, he sat crossed legged.

"Yeah!, I entered the unground earth bending matches too test my skills, I beat everyone I've fought so far!" She said, excited, standing and moving her arms and feet like she does in the arena.

"That's amazing toph, I knew you could do it, blind beauty" he said teasing her.

"What did I say about the names, ring face" she said, laughing.

"Oh come on toph, that was low" laughing with her.

Over time she started too visit only a few days after being in matches, her parents becoming more strict. This did not stop her from coming every chance she could, one day he spoke of more bending, saying, isn't metal apart of earth, refined. This made toph think hard about it, giving up not thinking she could bend it or needed too. One day coming back and telling him how she had a tie in the ring, that a strange boy who was light on his feet had done it, that it was with the help of obito that she managed too make it a draw. She felt obito heart beat change, asking him what was wrong but he laughed it off, soon she left. Going home she found the 3 kids who had been with the boy at the arena. They asked her too teach aang earth bending, toph refused. With no other choice the party of 3 came too her home too ask her parents, getting cut off at ever chance when they tried too expose her secret. After the dinner her and aang spoke about her journeying with them seeing the outside world. This immediately peeked toph interest, thinking her and obito could leave this place. After asking the others if her friend could come with them, which they agreed to, she was going to set off to get obito but the 3 were kidnapped by the very earth benders she beat in the ring. Beating them and saving the 3 she brought them too the cave.

"It's dark in here twinkle toes, so be careful" toph said while they entered the cave.

"didn't you say he's a non bender, how does he see in a place like this toph?" Katara spoke, following.

"He is special, like me" toph said, hiding her smile.

"He must be, even with out bending he can move in this place" aang said, placing his hand on tophs shoulder.

"I can't see anything!" Sokka said, trying too grab his sisters shoulder.

"Obito!, where are you?, I have great news!" Toph yelled out, making it too his favorite spot, he had made a hole in the caves ceiling so moon light could come in.

"Finally light!, huh?, what's this" sokka said, coming into the moon light, stopping when he saw a chest.

"It's the chest i brought him clothes in" toph said feeling with her feet.

"There's a letter on top of the clothes" katara said, moving to the chest, opening it.

"Would he go out for anything?" Aang said, questioning toph.

"He does sometimes but it's late he should be here" tooth said worried, she had a bad feeling.

*gasp

"What Is it Katara" Sokka said, coming behind her while she read the letter.

Soon aang and sokka read the letter, understand why katara let out the noise.

"Come on what is it!" Toph said, not understanding.

"I'm sorry toph, I think you need too read this" katara said, sadness in her voice.

"I can't, blind remember?" Toph said, feeling there heart beats, the bad feeling rising in her heart.

"Yeah, I'll read in too you" katara said, walking in front of her.

"Dear Toph, we have spent so much time together in this place, I thought what place would be better for us too part, I couldn't face you, I knew tho would try too stop me, it's time I leave this cave too see the world with my own too eyes, I'm guessing you'll be taking your own journey, I still remember the times we spent here, the day the rain storm happened we almost didn't make it, I could see how happy you were rolling around In the mud, your parents were so mad you didn't come see me for a week, telling me they made you wash 5 times a day, so many memories. It's time for us too make our own ways, I know you will be angry because I said we'd go together I am sorry but you what you must do and what I seek to protect are too different things. I made you a promise toph, when you need me I'll always be there, when I meet you again maybe you'll be able too do that bending we talked about, greatest earth bender in the world, well too me you'll always be the blind beauty" katara spoke these words, watching as toph froze, laughed and ultimately cried, looking up at the moon light.

"So he just left?" Sokka said, getting blasted by wind.

"Not now Sokka" aang said, dragging Sokka out of the moon lit cave.

"So he really left with out me" toph said, trying too wipe tears that kept falling.

"Toph I don't know your guys history, from what he said he left for a reason, I believe you will meet again" katara spoke, coming up too hug toph, who didn't shy away.

After a while toph finally stopped crying, she grabbed the letter putting it in a pocket close too her heart.

"Thank you katara, knowing him we probably will see him again, too get him out of trouble, I'll give him a piece of my mind then" toph said making a rock wall protrude from the ground, coving the cave the mole mother once lived.

They soon set off, agreeing too help aang learn earth bending, running from home now that there was nothing keeping her here. Soon teaching him all kinds of things as well as some of the words obito said.

"You do not need to force it too bend, guide it, allow it to be chaotic at first, rather then force it, its more like asking, you are not fighting against the element your working with it" toph said too aang training one day.

"Ask it huh" aang said too himself, trying too do so, which helped him greatly.

On there long journey fighting and teaching, she had disagreements, leaving the group for a while meet iroh, they talked about many things even someone she has no talked about for a long time.

"On your journey, if it is fate you will meet your friend again but how will you know if you stop your journey here" iroh said drinking tea.

[time skip]

Soon toph returned too the group, saying sorry and continuing with there journey. throughout the journey they found out about the day of the black sun, appa was almost kidnapped, using her strength too hold up sinking library. When the team made there way out they headed to Ba sing se too find appa and tell the king of the day of the black sun. Stopping a drill, fighting off there enemies. One day toph and katara went on a girls day out, getting dolled up, feeling happy but being called a clown by noble girls.

"It's ok toph" katara said to her, but seeing her still smile.

"I don't care, someone told me, the blind see the world for what it is, those girls don't bother me, too that person he said I was the most beautiful" toph said giggling, remembering the past.

"Well he was right, let's go shop!" Katara, said guessing who said those things.

[time skip]

Soon fighting the dai lee beating them, finally getting the chance to meet the king, telling him about the day. The team split up too do there own thing, toph got a fact letter from her supposedly Mother, getting caught by the earth benders who were sent after her, being trapped in a metal box, being dragged back too her home.

"Let me out of here!" Toph yelled out too the two.

"Hey quiet down" the older man said.

"When I get out all kick your buts!" Toph screamed at them.

"I know you believe you are the greatest bender but even you can't bend metal" the bigger man said, smacking the side of the metal box.

Inside toph though about a conversation, her and obito had.

'Aren't they one in the same, the elements are all connected, metal is just a product of earth, refined and hardened'

Toph remembered the past hitting the walls, send of vibrations to feel the small amounts of earth with in the metal. Finally getting the hang of it, getting out and trapping the two inside.

"I'm the greatest earth bender alive, remember that!" Stomping on the roof before jumping off, making the earth sink like a title wave.

"I would say so" a familiar voice froze her in her tracks.

She turned around looking where she just jumped from, a boy sat, his left eye closed, his red eye spinning, wearing a black outfit a long cloak with a weird symbol on his back, even if she couldn't see this he knew the voice.

"O..ob..obito?!" Toph yelled at him launching herself from the ground, attempting to latch on to him.

"It's been a long time toph" hugging her, she squeeze him tight.

"Why are you here where did you go?!" Toph said letting go but holding on to his cloak.

She felt two fingers flick her forehead, remembering all the times he did this, taking a step back to yell at him but then he disappeared.

"I told you toph I'll always be here when you need me, now until we meet again" he said, his voice fading away.

"Thanks for trying to save me, I'm guessing there is still things you have too do" toph said letting out a tear, thinking there path just happened to cross, bending the earth pushing herself forward.

Heading back to Ba sing se, finding out it was taking over by azula, Mai and ty lee. Fighting them off, aang getting seriously injured. Ending up in the fire nation where toph gambled. Aang finally woke up, katara did not like toph gambling and confronted her but toph told her she was not the teams mother, feeling regret for leaving her family.

[no long later under moon light]

"I'm sorry katara, can you help me with this" toph said holding up a piece of paper.

"I'm sorry too toph, sure what is it" Katara said, taking the piece of paper.

"I want too write a letter too my mom" toph spoke with a heavy heart.

"Yeah, let's do it" katara said taking the paper.

"I never told anyone, but, I saw him again, when we were in Ba sing se" toph said, letting out a tear.

"You saw obito? What happened" katara spoke, looking at toph sad face.

"He came too save me, like he said he would, then he left, I guess he is still on his own journey" toph spoke.

"Well i think your paths are meant too cross again if he met you there of all places, you will see him again" katara said, understanding toph worry.

"Yeah, I think so too" toph said, trying too smile.

[months later]

After months the day of the black sun came, the fire benders lost there bending, the team along with people they met along there journey, storming into the fire nation. Finding out that it was a trap forced too retreat as there friends were captured. Going too the western air temple, where they met Zuko who offered too teach aang fire bending, them turning him away while toph disagreed, leaving the ground too find zuko. When she found him, she startled him, he lashed out with fire, almost burning her feet, she raised a earth wall too protect herself.

"Watch your step" hearing a voice, feeling a hand push her back closer to the wall so her feet would be ok.

"Thank you" toph said softly too the person she knew was there, feeling like zuko was a lost cause, leaving too rejoin her friends.

When she left zuko sat feeling sorry for what he had done, looking back too see a person in a dark orange swirling mask, with one eye hole, that he thought he saw spinning.

"If you would have hurt her, we would not be having this conversation, you need too get your mind in order for the journey ahead, there is no home left for you in the fire nation, right now you must correct it" obito spoke, appearing in front of zuko, his one eye spinning, reaching out his hand.

"A spirit ? Stay away" zuko said, closing his eyes, soon opening them, the spirit was gone.

Zuko thought of the spirts words soon going to meet them, helping them fighting off a attack.

Toph, zuko, katara , aang and Sokka soon left, they pushed aang too train making aang leave, looking for him they came too a camp of the order of the white Lotus. Toph fought king bumi for the title of the strongest earth bender. Soon getting serious again toph and the gang went to fight the fire nation even with out the help of aang, saying that when aang showed up, they would be there together with him. Soon going to fight taking out a bunch of fire nation ships. Aang showed up facing the fire lord, stopping him, after taking his bending, toph cheered.

"It looks like you didn't need my help" a voice said stopping all of them, they all got into a battle stance, and toph froze again.

A boy could been seen in a cloak, sitting on the railing of the ship, a orange mask with one eye showing.

"A enemy?" Sokka said.

"No it's the guy who helped drive the fire nation from my village" suki said, looking at the boy.

"No it's the waters voice who helped with my water bending, showing me there was more too water" katara said, smiling.

"No it's the master who helped me when I left, he told me there are greater things to think of then myself" aang spoke, bowing.

"No it's the spirit who gave me the last push too join you, too stop my father" zuko said.

"What?!" Sokka said, confused.

"No, your all wrong, it's just obito" toph spoke, making them all stop talking.

"Toph this is obito?" Katara spoke.

"Looks like he helped all of us in a way" suki said, hugging the confused Sokka.

"It looks like he was there with us throughout this long journey, thank you" aang said.

"Sounds like obito" toph spoke trying too come near.

The boy lifted his mask only so they could see his mouth, putting his covered hand too his lips as he smiled, a smile that could light up the world.

"Shhhhh, maybe I helped just a little, you got all grown up toph, strong and so many friends. Until we meet again, thank you for taking care of her" as he fell back off the ship. Toph rushed forward, reaching her hand down knowing he was gone.

"Toph" everyone spoke as they saw her reach out, pulling her hand back too her heart, feeling the letter that was there.

"It's ok guys, that's just who he is" turning around smiling as tears fell.

They all hugged, talking about there different stories, how obito helped them, making toph smile.

"Until we meet again" toph and the rest said, looking out too the bright sun.

[Years later]

Toph wanting too share her gift of metal bending, finding kids who had potential, calling the school her family name, but having a mark under it of obito clan no one understood but her close friends. Fighting over her school with her students, successfully passing down her metal bending.

[a year later]

Zuko during this time wanted too pull fire nation out of the earth kingdom. Waging war too pull his people out. Knowing this was wrong toph , suki and Sokka with other earth benders came too fight his army back winning.Toph during this time had not heard from obito and slowly enough became a distant memory, soon after she expanded her dojo largely, going too the industrial city there meeting Satoru, they hit it off looking too others that it was more then just a partnership.

Soon meeting her father again, finding out he was on me if Satoru business partners, her father dismissed her saying she was not his daughter. Later confronting him again telling him that she was proud of who she was, which he turned his back on her hurting toph.

[Months later]

While in a mining cave, it collapsed with her father and friends in it, forcing toph too hold it up. She had too do so for hours, her father seeing this might be her last time said sorry and that he still loved her. Leading too her telling him if he knew her, he would know she could do this for as long as she had to, her father soon sat with the others hoping too be rescued.

"Could you actually do it, blind beauty" a deep mans voice came, making toph flinch almost letting the mine fall.

Coming out of the dark a tall man stood in a cloak with red clouds, a mask with one eye showing.

"Why here of all places, you couldn't come back sooner!" Toph said, biting her lip too stop the tears from coming.

"Shhhhh, i am sorry, soon my journey will be over, now, push" he said walking too her, kissing her forehead, a strange force came from him pushing the mine in a dome like shape, toph felt the burden be lifted, the earth above opened being pushed apart.

"Now!, where have you.." toph was going too say looking over too the place he was too find him gone.

"Toph, katara, everyone let's go" aang yelled down too them.

"Let's go toph" katara said, thinking she saw the person she toph spoke too.

"Ahhh!" Toph yelled, launching herself out of the hole leaving.

"What wrong with her?" Aang said, helping katara up and looking at toph leave.

"I think obito showed up" katara said with a pained expression.

"So he came, I can see why now" aang said shaking his head. Not seeing that on top of a building a figure sat, cloak blowing before lifting his mask as a tear fell, then disappearing.

Toph angrily stomp shooting rocks all over, destroying her training ground, but her temper tantrum did not last long before a spirit attacked, her and her friends fought but toph being angry disrespected the spirit before it was purified it cursed her with life. Not understanding At first nor aang they went back to daily life.

[A year later]

Soon the world started too change, toph becoming more influential as well as her friends.The small industrial city grew large as toph and Saturo talked more, she went from a factory representative to executive partner.

Getting in all manor of battles, soon obito again became a memory.

[years later]

The world moved forward toph having 2 daughters, never forgetting obito but moving on, the small industrial city grew in size becoming Republic city, aang tasked toph with being the metal bending police force chief for Republic city. Soon aang and the others noticed, toph did not age after turning 30, thinking this must have been what the spirit said they were confused even after traveling to the spirit world the spirit could not be found by aang.

Feeling that it would be problematic, toph stepped down. Having a statue made out infront of the police station because of her work, spending time with lin and su, who even though saw there mother not age loved her, aang soon passed thinking the next avater could help there mother as the two got older.

[present time]

Toph sat in her kitchen, her two daughters having grown up, her friends living there lives, she sat thinking of what she could do now she did not want to watch her love ones pass but the avater was still unexperienced to help with spirit matters.

"Hello, blind beauty, it has be a long, long time, I see you are still as beautiful as ever" obito who had shown up, sat across the table from her looking at her head that lay on the table.

"Ahhh!" Toph yelled, lashing out as her metal lines wrapped his body, keeping him in place as she came running too him ripping his mask off feeling his face.

"I am not going anywhere this time toph" he said smiling, feeling tears hit his face.

"Why?!, why now?!, i looked for you everywhere!, why now when I have a family, now when she is all grown up, you said you would be there when i needed you where were you?!" She yelled in his face, stopping when she felt tears come from his eyes, moving her thumps below them.

"You have no idea how hard it was too leave you, not how I had too watch you love another, when I came back, your first was born, when all I wanted too do was be with you, you told me to leave" he said rubbing her cheek.

"Loved?, how when you took all the room in my heart, tell me!" Toph yelled rubbing her face on his hand.

"I can not take it back but I'm here now, I will never leave you again" lifting his head too kiss her forehead.

*bang

"Mom what's going on?!" Lin yelled, Rushing in hearing yelling, her fist in front of her.

Walking to kitchen seeing toph who had a man wrapped up, leaning over him, the man kissing her forehead, while her mother cried.

"I'm back toph" the mans deep voice was heard.

"Welcome back" leaning down and kissing his lips.

"Obito" she said, feeling his always steady heart beat.
