Life for a Fantasy: The Transmigrant's Survival Challenge

A philosopher once said "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. You get from the world what you give to the world." A line that manages to explain well the choices we make throughout our lives, be they good or bad and to Jacob's misfortune, his action had a terrible consequence, something cost him dearly.... After writing an unfair review detonating the book because there was a harem, the author of the book who happened to be a god, decided to give Jacob a punishment... The punishment would be to live the rest of his life inside the book that he hated so much and so he did. Being thrown into a mortal world where you have little information, what choices would you make? How would you survive? Would you depend on luck or decide your own fate? See how Jacob will do, in this new fantasy world... ________________________________ Author's note (^-^) Hi guys, I have to make a few things clear before you embark on the journey: The story is in third person, so if you don't like or are not used to that type, I recommend you rethink whether you should read it. English is not my first language, so there may be some mistakes in the writing, I ask you to help me if you find any. That's all, happy reading (^-^)

The Blair Forest (4)

"Get up, we have work to do." Jacob spoke as he poked Grace's cheeks.

"Wake up."

"Hmmm, five more minutes..." Grace replied as she allowed herself to be plunged into the mattress.

"If you don't get up, I'm going to do what I did to you in the dungeon."

"You don't have the guts."

"Oh? I don't have the guts?"

Suddenly Grace instantly stood up and said hurriedly:

"I was kidding! Look at that, I'm already up!"

"Pfff, Anyway, go get ready, I'll wait for you downstairs." After he finished speaking, Jacob started walking towards the door, but stopped walking when he heard Grace speak:

"Are you still having those internal bleeding? I remember when we were in the Dungeon, you ended up throwing up gallons of blood and I had to take care of you for 5 days."

"I'm fine..."

"Really? Are you drinking that medicine I gave you?"

"No, it tastes like piss."

"What? Do you have any idea how expensive that medicine was? You have to drink it all to heal these wounds!

"Sigh... I'll start drinking that medicine tomorrow.

"Today!"

"Okay, I'll start drinking it today..."

Satisfied with Jacob's answer, Grace asked something else to change the air:

"Did you hear about Raphael? It seems that he and his group are going to participate in the tournament that is going to take place in the dwarven kingdom."

"Yes, I did hear that news..."

"Hm, aren't you worried that he will win the tournament and get the dagger you are looking for?"

"No, because the dagger is useless to him."

"Ahhhh that's right! You don't have mana, I forget that sometimes.... Okay, let me stretch."

Jacob stared at her as if hypnotized, but he kept a calm, solid gaze.

"Hm, now that I remember, I still have to sing for you, don't I?"

"Yes, but you can do that later."

"No! I want to know a secret from you, so I'll sing now."

"You're going to sing in your nightgown?"

"I will! Any problems with my professional singer's dress?"

Jacob smiled and walked over to a chair and sat down as he answered:

"No problem with your professional singing dress, so.... What are you going to sing?"

"Let's see... What kind of music do you like?"

"Hm, A Calm song."

"Calm..." Grace was thoughtful about which song to choose, but after a while, a song came to her mind and he said:

"Okay, I'll sing, but you have to promise not to laugh."

After Grace said that, for some unknown reason, Jacob let out an unintentional laugh and that simple laugh, caused Grace to start laughing too.

"Pffff, damn it, if you keep laughing I won't be able to concentrate."

"Sorry, I promise I won't laugh anymore."

"Apology accepted... Now I'm going to sing the song Portugal."

"Portugal? It seems to be a song of remembrance."

"Yes, but it's also of love. Do you like love?"

Jacob was thoughtful for a few moments, but answered quickly:

"Yes."

"Okay... But be careful you don't end up falling in love."

Jacob didn't answer her, he was completely immersed in that atmosphere, so seeing his silence, grace started singing

"Uoh oh oh oh oh

Uoh oh oh oh oh

Uoh oh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh."

"To be with you is nice

If I'm with you it's phenomenal

But if there's a feeling it's lethal

But if it's real it's sensational

Come here baby, come here

Me, you and nobody else

The world is ours

I came to ask if you're coming

"I thought of us in Portugal

It even seemed a little surreal

Crazy in style, couple a thousand degrees

Everything is in its own time, I hope

In an artificial paradise

Candlelight dinner, special

Two glasses of wine, the essentials

On second thought I want".

.

.

.

As Grace sang, Jacob stared into her eyes as he listened to that song. For Jacob, that moment was easily the most special of all, because that particular moment made him detach from all of life's problems and be in a feeling of peace. Jacob felt that there was only him and Grace in this whole world, it was a bizarre feeling, but somehow healthy and a little romantic...

"And there, tell me that if it would

Let's get out of the theory

You are my calmness

Want to be a part of my life

Peace won't be utopia

Love, come with me, trust

"I made a request to the shooting star

Come with me and you won't regret it

Let go of this silly fear that holds you back

Our romance Kim Kardashian and Kanye

"Uoh oh oh oh oh

Whooh oh oh oh

Oh oh oh oh..."

Then Grace stopped singing and looked at jacob afraid that he didn't like it, but seeing jacob's normal expression, she was confused and asked:

"What did you think?"

"Hm, it wasn't that bad. I thought you would break all the glass in the establishment."

"What?"

"Haha, I'm kidding.... It was good, I liked it."

"Really?"

"It's serious, you can try to read my mind if you want."

"I don't need to read your mind, I believe you. Then as agreed, I want to hear a secret from you."

"A secret? I have many."

After listening to Jacob, Grace was left wondering which secret to hear. She had several doubts about Jacob, but she also had something called respect. Why she didn't need a bet to know his secrets, she believed that the truths would come with time... So she asked:

"I want to know if you have ever loved anyone before."

"Wow, you want to know about that?"

"What? If you want me to ask about something else, I will, how about I ask about your hometown?"

"No! I am content to answer that wonderful question of yours and quench your curiosity."

"So, have you ever loved anyone?"

"Yes..."

"Oh? And can I hear the short story?"

"It's nothing abnormal, it was just a passing infatuation. After I saw the girl's character, I instantly came to hate her."

"Hm, was she that bad?"

"Bad? No, she was a good person... You know those noblemen who have a harem full of girls? She was the type who liked being part of a harem, so I didn't like that."

"Ah, really harem is disgusting. I understand you."

Suddenly, they heard knocking on the door "knock, knock" along with Angela's voice:

"Jacob! I need to talk about the new job!"

Hearing a girl's voice, grace was confused and looked at jacob while waiting for answers. But as expected, he did not answer her and walked to the door and opened it. As he opened the door, jacob looked at Angela and asked:

"What do you want?"

Without even answering Jacob or asking his permission, Angela walked inside the room and sat down in the same chair where Jacob was sitting.

Grace was even more confused to see a demi-human and asked jacob:

"What's going on?"

"Sigh..." Jacob sighed tiredly and closed the door. Just then he walked over to another chair and sat down in front of Angela and asked:

"What do you want?"

"I want to know if there is any way you can get me into the illegal services and get john out of there."

"No, there isn't."

"Why? As far as I know, you need people who are good at killing, don't you? So I'm perfect for that."

"The illegal services won't just be assassinations, there are other areas where john will be active, like espionage and unfortunately, demi-humans usually get a lot of attention."

"Tsk, I want 20 gold coins a week then."

"Twenty a week? Don't you think you're being too greedy? An ordinary worker earns one silver coin a week."

"I know, but I'm not someone ordinary, am I?"

"No, you're not someone ordinary, that's exactly why you're going to keep getting 10 gold coins a week."

"Tsk... I want you to make me a promise then."

Jacob was a bit surprised by that unusual request, but he asked without sketching any reaction:

"What promise?"

"I have a daughter and I want john to see her grow up, so promise me that nothing will happen to him."

"Don't worry about his safety and well being, I guarantee he will live to die a natural death someday."

"Okay, I'll take your word for it.... But now that I'm working for you, where do I start?"

"Good question. I want you and your family, to go to a village located between the Dwarven Kingdom and the Human Kingdom. Since you are a demi-human, you should have no problem locating that village."

"Hm, it won't be difficult, but will your famous empire be born there? In a small village?"

"Yes... In the squalor of a village, I will raise an army."

Angela stared at Jacob trying to see if he was some kind of lunatic, but Jacob's easy expression never changed, he simply never sketched any reaction. This eventually made Angela angry, but since jacob was her boss, she couldn't complain.

"Ok, but will the inhabitants of this village welcome me? Or will they attack me?"

"They will attack everyone who comes near, but don't worry, just say my name out loud and you will be a guest of honor."

"Hm, okay... But then what do I do?"

"I want you to command the Village until my return. Ask John to help you, since he will be out of jobs."

"Uhum, but before I do all that, I need the payment up front."

Jacob sighed as if he had already imagined this and said to grace:

"Give her 50 gold coins."

"Hi? 50 gold coins? Does she work as a royal guard or a prostitute?" Grace asked shocked, but the word "prostitute," ended up making Angela extremely angry.

"Prostitute?! What's it like?"

"Sigh... Give her the gold." Jacob was already regretting hiring Angela, but he was putting up with all her nagging because she would be useful in the future.

Grace took a bag with 50 gold coins and gave it to angela and said coldly:

"Okay, now get out of here."

Seeing the gold in her hand, angela's eyes sparkled with happiness and she quickly left the room, lest they change their minds and end up taking the gold back.

"Okay, now that she's gone... Can you explain to me what's going on?"
