Legendary Mercenary

In Los Angeles, There's a famous Convenient store which was widely known for it's Great customer service. A Store which sells alot of stuffs and has risen to the top and had successfully removed itself from the list of your average convenient stores.

The store was called 24/7.

Amidst of all the Convenient stores in the City, 24/7 was widely known as the best among the best.

Great customer service, Everything you need is also there, Every food you crave, Every drink you're eager to sip is always found and available in that very store.

The Owner, Who runs the Store greatly was James.

A Warm and kind hearted guy who's happily married with his Wife Jenna, And properly raising their seven year old daughter Jasmine.

James had black medium-length hair with slight wavy ends. He had this handsome face which made his age unknowable.

Whether he was within his mid twenties or not, Many were confused due to his Young looks and his well built figure.

Trucks started gathering slowly beside the road, Infront of the 24/7 Store which James own.

An old woman which was at her forties and a man which was at his fifties was seen standing at the other side of the road.

"Trucks are piling again at the road."

"Well, James usually restocks his supplies daily. So it's no surprise that Trucks are seen everyday like this."

"His store just never runs out of things to sell, Haha."

"I guess it's cause he's a great owner who doesn't forget his responsibilities, Unlike to a certain someone." As the woman sneered with disappointment at the man he was talking to.

"Hehe, We're not running some convenient store here darling. We own a restaurant."

"So what? We always run out of Ingredients and meat due to your irresponsible behaviour."

The man sighed, I wish my wife was more like Jenna. He thought as the woman continued to complain about trivial things.

"Sir james, We have finished restocking the supplies you've requested." As the Stock agent said.

James wiped off his sweat, "Thanks, Here's the payment." As he handed the money towards the stock agent.

"Many thanks Sir james, We'll be coming back again tomorrow." Then the Agent slowly took off and went outside along with his co-workers who carried the supplies to the store.

After they left, A woman suddenly appeared.

She had blonde hair which brightened her pale skin, She had well shaped eyebrows and plump lips and had a good figure, Well anyone who saw her might doubt her real age when she's already in her late twenties.

"Honey, I brought you your lunch. You forgot to bring it with you."

James turned and noticed, "Oh dear, I'm sorry I forgot."

"You should always remember, I know you're really committed to managing the store properly, But you shouldn't forget your food." As she pouted.

"Come on dear." As James held the lunchbox and hugged Jenna softly.

The two hugged happily like newly weds, While the Part-time Cashier looked away with blushing noticable cheeks as he whistled bluntly.

"By the way dear, Did you already drop Jasmine at her school?" James asked.

"Yeah, After I dropped her at her school, I immediately went here to give you your lunch."

"Thank you for always looking out for me, Hehe. I'll make sure to go home early." He said and smiled gently.

"Okay dear, I'll be going home now." Jenna replied and gave James a kiss on the lips.

Then Jenna went out of the Store and Drove her car slowly. While James continued managing the Store along with his employee.

While James was doing some arrangements, He was pretty visible from the outside due to the glass windows.

Then from the other side of the road outside of his store, Four women was having coffee in a restaurant.

"Hey, Isn't Mr. James hot?"

"Yeah, Look at him. He looks like he just turned twenty."

"Lucky Jenna, She sure got it sweet."

"Meanwhile we could only stare at him from the other side of the road."

The four of them chattered, Admiring James while being envious of Jenna.

The cashier of the restaurant, The woman who was at her forties, Heard everything the four women were talking about.

"Hey honey, Everytime a group of women comes to our restaurant, All the chattering I could hear are about the Store owner of the Convenient store from the front."

Steam was vividly covering up the area inside the kitchen, While a small open box-like window was seen connecting through the Cashier's booth.

"Well, James is really popular. With his looks and his personality, I'm sure he could get a hold of every woman he wishes. Keke" As the man in his fifties giggled slightly.

"You really are one hell of a guy, Thomas." The woman sneered in disappointment.

"So are you Glenda, Why do you always compare me to James?" Thomas said with a disappointed expression.

"Enough, Let's continue to work."

Then both of them silently continued working while they didn't speak a single thing in the continuation of their entire day.

James took a breathe and checked his wristwatch.

Night had finally came, It was already nearing 7:00pm, The moon was already brightly shining while the stars covered and glittered through the entirety of the sky.

He turned around and notified the Part-timer, "Daniel, I'll be heading home now. Just wait for Robert for abit, I already texted him and he said he was already getting prepared."

Daniel bowed, "Okay thanks Boss."

James smirked and waved as he went out of the Convenient store and hopped on his motorcycle and wore a jet-black all-covered helmet.

As he struck the key inside the keyhole and pressed the Engine button, A roaring sound occured as the Motorcycle engine got turned on. A frigid rough sound enveloped the streets as James rode his Dazzling red colored H-Cbr 150R.

Daniel saw James from inside the store through the window and subconsiouscly spoke , "Damn that bike is so dope."

After several minutes, James finally reached home.

Their house was a two story building in a quiet neighborhood with a small little front yard with a parking lot, While the House exterior design was abit antique yet simple and eye lavishing. While at the back of their house, They have a ten-meter sized pool with some resting benches displayed across around it.

James quietly stared at their gate as he removed his helmet, He opened the gate at the Parking lot and placed his motorcycle beside his Wife's car.

Then he slowly walked towards their front door and reached for the doorknob.

But before he could reach it, The door opened.

A bright yet beautiful young girl welcomed James with a big smile on her face, "Welcome home Papa!" She said happily.

James stared at his daughter with a happy look on his face, "I'm home sweetie." As he instantly carried her daughter and gave her a hug.

Then they closed their door and went inside the house, Followed by a greeting from his wife and they all continued to enjoy their night as a happy family.

Time passed, It was already 1:00am.

Jenna was sleeping beside James while Jasmine was fast asleep in her bedroom.

James quietly got up from the bed and wore a white plain shirt and went out of the bedroom.

As he got out of the room, A small portrait was seen infront of the wall. A vibration occured while James slowly removed the portrait.

There he saw an old flip flop phone, Vibrating, Waiting to be answered.

"Hello." James said coldly.

"How are you doing James? You've been pretty popular these days."

"I'm just being the usual, Living my happily married life to it's fullest."

"I knew you'd say that, But unfortunately you're gonna have to settle things with someone unless you don't want that 'Happily Married Life' of yours to get ruined."

"...."

"I'm just here to notify you james, No need to get angry at me."

"Okay edwardo, Bye." *Hangs up*

"Tch, That guy really hangs up on me all the time. He's the only one who's ever done that."

In the top of an extravagant tall building, Two unknown guys were seen from the Glass window.

"Edwardo, What did he say?"

"Well, He said about how he's currently enjoying his happily married life to it's fullest."

"Heh, I'm suddenly getting jealous of James."

Edwardo smirked, "Keke, James Ashburn? A Warm and Kind hearted man? A Convenient store owner? Those rumors truly surprises me."

"James Ashburn is his real name, right?"

"We also don't know if it's his real name, But we from the Association all know, That he's the one and only Doom bringer out of all the members of the Association."

"Doom bringer you say?"

"Keke, Well I can't help it if you've got doubts. Since you've never seen him before back in his prime." As Edwardo nonchalantly spoke.

"He was Among of all of the best, The greatest, The toughest, Who's a man of Commitment, Has Intense focus throughout anything he thinks about, He stands at the top of all the greatest mercenaries in the M association, That is before, When he fell in love to a woman and retired."

"He sounds badass to me Edwardo."

"Well, He's badass alright, Afterall, he was dubbed as the deadliest back in his days. He had alot of names, The Grim reaper, The doom bringer, The Devil..."

"But about what you just told him? Settling things with someone, Something like that. What was it about?"

"Well... It'll be known soon... Since he'll be receiving quite a surprise visit."

Meanwhile, James returned the flip flop phone back behind the portrait and fixed it back. He slowly walked towards the bedroom as he had a cold expression on his face, Wandering in thoughts as he sat down on the bed staring at his sleeping wife.
