The Tempest of Greed

The opulent hotel suite did little to mask the simmering tension that hung in the air like a suffocating shroud. Yang Mei paced the plush carpets, her movements fueled by a fury that threatened to consume her from within, her eyes burning with unbridled rage.

Across the room, her husband, Zhao Liang, watched her with a scrutinizing gaze, his expression a mask of barely contained impatience. It had been two weeks since Tang Ziyi had been informed of the DNA test results, confirming Yang Mei as his biological mother, and yet the young man had made no effort to reach out, to forge the maternal bond that she so desperately craved.

"That insolent boy," Yang Mei spat, her words laced with venom as she whirled to face Zhao Liang. "How dare he dismiss me, his own flesh and blood, like some common beggar?"
