Troublesome Life

After Kai found himself lying on the floor of his room, his body still reeling from the effects of absorbing Zennosuke's soul, a few weeks passed. The experience at the time was difficult to accept. Still, he would sometimes blink, trying to process the flood of information and memories that had washed over him at the time. Slowly his mind began to clear, he realized that he had not only gained knowledge of Zennosuke's experiences but had also inherited his Shinigami training.

In the moment of panic, Kai had forced his soul back into his body that day, but the realization of his newfound abilities lingered as he kept on remembering them. He knew that he had to study and understand these powers if he wanted to control them and use them to avoid trouble. Now that his soul got stronger, a hollow could target him, and he needed to at least learn how to protect himself.

Kai sat up on his bed one of these days, taking deep breaths as he tried to focus on the information that Zennosuke's soul had imparted to him. He knew that Shinigami possessed various abilities, including the use of Kidō, the magical arts that consisted of binding spells, destruction spells, and healing spells.

As he sifted through Zennosuke's memories, Kai began to recall the names and effects of some of the lower-tier spells that the former Shinigami had learned. While Zennosuke had not been a master of Kidō, he had known the basic theory behind these spells, which would provide Kai with a starting point in his studies.

Kai decided to start with the binding spells, recalling the names of five lower-tier spells. He muttered them softly to himself, trying to commit them to memory. "Sai... Seki... Hainawa... Geki... Rikujōkōrō..."

Next, he moved on to the destruction spells, remembering the incantations for another five lower-tier spells. "Shō... Byakurai... Tsuzuri Raiden... Nijū Eishō... Hōrin..."

Finally, Kai shifted his focus to the healing spells, even though he knew that Zennosuke had not been particularly skilled in this area. Still, he recalled five basic spells that the former Shinigami had known. "Hōyoku... Kaidō... Iyashi Kaze... Seikatsu Saigen... Chiyu Shizuku..."

Kai repeated the names of the spells in his mind, determined to become proficient in their use. He knew that mastering these abilities would not only help him protect himself but also allow him to better understand the nature of the spiritual world.

As he continued his mental recitation, Kai began to feel a connection to the spiritual energy within him, the power that fueled the Kidō spells. He could sense the potential for great power, but he also understood that it would take time and practice to truly harness it.

Kai decided to try casting one of the lower-tier binding spells, focusing on the incantation for Sai. He took a deep breath and spoke the words, feeling the energy within him respond. To his surprise, a faint glow surrounded his hands, and he could feel the binding effect of the spell.

Excited by his success, Kai continued to experiment with the other spells he had learned from Zennosuke, each time feeling the spiritual energy within him grow stronger. As he practiced, he found himself growing more and more comfortable with the sensation of channeling his power into the Kidō spells.

However, as Kai delved deeper into his newfound abilities, he also realized that there was a limit to his current knowledge. Zennosuke's memories had only been able to teach him the basics of Kidō, and if he wanted to truly master these powers, he would need to seek out more advanced training.

Kai went to an empty warehouse, a location he had chosen for its seclusion and space, perfect for practicing his spells. He was determined to become proficient in the use of Kidō and had decided to focus on training with the lower-tier spells he had learned from Zennosuke's memories. He knew that mastering these abilities would be essential in helping him protect his friends and loved ones.

He began with the binding spells, or Bakudō. Taking a deep breath, Kai concentrated on the incantation for Bakudō #1, Sai. He chanted, "Within the stillness of the night, I call upon the powers of the divine. Bind and shackle the foe that stands before me. Sai!" As he spoke the words, Kai felt the spiritual energy within him surge and manifest as a binding force around an imagined enemy.

Next, he focused on Bakudō #4, Hainawa. He recited the incantation, "With the chanting of this sacred verse, I invoke the ancient magic of entwining. Let the crawling ropes ensnare my enemy. Hainawa!" As he finished, Kai visualized the ropes forming and wrapping around a target, restraining them.

Kai continued his training, moving on to Bakudō #8, Seki. He chanted, "By the power of the mystical realm, I summon forth a barrier of protection. Let no harm come to me. Seki!" Upon completing the incantation, a protective barrier formed around him, its energy radiating with power.

Growing more confident, Kai proceeded to practice Bakudō #9, Geki. He spoke the words, "The winds of fortune may shift, but the power of my spells shall not waver. With the might of the heavens, let my strike find its mark. Geki!" He felt the energy within him focusing on his target, delivering a powerful strike.

Finally, Kai moved on to Bakudō #26, Kyokko. He chanted, "With the light of the divine, I see through the veil of darkness. Let my sight guide my hand. Kyokko!" As he completed the incantation, the room seemed to brighten as if illuminated by a divine light.

Having practiced the binding spells, Kai decided to shift his focus to the destructive spells, or Hadō. He began with Hadō #1, Shō. Concentrating, he recited the incantation, "From the depths of the unknown, I call forth a force of reckoning. Let my enemies be thrust aside. Shō!" He felt the spiritual energy within him build and release, creating a powerful force that could repel his enemies.

Lastly, Kai practiced Hadō #4, Byakurai. He spoke the words, "With the power of the storm, I conjure the fury of the heavens. Let my foes be struck by the lightning of my will. Byakurai!" As he finished the incantation, a bolt of pale lightning shot from his fingertips, striking an imaginary foe.

As Kai continued his training, he began to feel a deeper connection to the spiritual energy within him. Each incantation, each spell, brought him closer to mastering his newfound abilities.
