Somehow, after her initial shock at witnessing a man turning into a wolf had passed, Hazel was ecstatic to see the magic before her eyes. Her grey eyes gleamed with excitement, while the grey wolf in front of her tilted its head and looked at her intently.
The wolf didn't make any sudden movements, so as to not scare her and let his future Luna take her time.
At first, Hazel only looked at the wolf with fascination, but then she asked for his front leg. And after that, she squeezed a few papers she tore from the notebook on the table and created a ball, only to throw it away. She then asked Gillian, in his wolf form, to fetch it.
"Good boy," Hazel said, as she tousled his head.
She looked amazed as she ran her fingers through the wolf's soft fur, it felt surreal. She had never felt fur as soft as this.
But then, her hand moved to the wolf face and to its back, then to its belly, which made the wolf take a step back.
"Where are you going? Come here, show me your belly," Hazel said enthusiastically. She moved closer to the wolf now instead. She remembered Plumber, her friend's pet dog, loved to be scratched on its belly.
"That's enough."
A voice boomed throughout the walls, as a man walked into the library room calmly. His dark blue eyes fell on the grey wolf that had been 'harassed' by Hazel. It looked at the alpha with troubled eyes.
As if they were communicating, a second later, the wolf dashed out of the room, leaving the two of them alone there.
On the other hand, the smile on Hazel's eyes immediately vanished when she saw Micah approach her. She took a step back and all of a sudden, the tension and the silence grew very thick between them.
"Sit," Micah said to her, as he nodded to the sofa behind her. "I will not bite you."
Hazel pouted her lips, once again she forgot that this man could read her mind. "You bit before, I still can see the evidence here," she pointed at her neck. "It will take a long time for this to go away."
"I have a piece of news for you; about the mark on your neck." Micah smiled, his eyes radiating happiness and joy, which set off an alarm in Hazel's head.
"What?" she asked defensively.
"Sit down first and I will tell you what it is." Micah spent seven years knowing her, so he knew exactly how to pique her interest.
Out of instinct, Hazel touched the mark on her neck, which still felt very sore, as she took a seat on the sofa opposite to which Micah pointed out to her, just to show him that she didn't want to be told.
Yet, her little disobedience only amused him. There was nothing more interesting than a bratty little girl like her.
No. Everything about her would amuse Micah…
Hazel frowned when Micah sat beside her, because he made her nervous and oh… he smelled nice… she liked a man with a nice smell…
"Thank you," Micah chuckled.
"I thought about men in general, not just you," Hazel grumbled. Ugh. It was so embarrassing for someone to be able to read her mind.
"Don't worry, I will teach you how to mask your thoughts."
"Really?"
"Yeah, it will take a year or so to learn that." Micah lied smoothly.
The smile on Hazel's lips quickly disappeared. "It will be easier for me to stay away from you."
Micah chuckled and this made her heart flutter, as his handsome face radiated elation. He looked more handsome and attractive…
Especially when he extended his hand to touch Yara's bottom lip. "I dare you to try." His hoarse voice sounded very sexy in her ears. "You will have a better chance at having a great relationship with your father and the rest of your family rather than run away from me."
This man was possessive…
"I am. What belongs to me will always be mine."
"I am not your property." Hazel wanted to sound brave and sharp when she retorted, but the voice that came out of her mouth sounded so pitiful and meek.
"Of course, you are not, my love." Micah rubbed his thumb across her bottom lip, where there was a small wound, the result of Greg's slap to her yesterday. The sight of this injury made Micah's eyes darker a few shades. "You are mine, just as I am yours."
Hazel gulped down, as she blinked her eyes. His voice and words… made her legs so weak. It was fortunate that she was sitting right now.
"What… what about the mark?" Hazel stuttered, as she cleared her throat.
On the other hand, Micah put down his hand and leaned back, making the magical spark from their touch disappear and this caused Hazel to frown a little bit.
She liked the feeling of being touched by him…
"I don't mean that!" Hazel freaked out in her defense to express that she didn't have that kind of dirty mind, when she saw a mischievous on Micah's lips.
"I didn't say anything." Micah watched how her face turned red, but then he spared her feelings. "Come here, I will put some medicine on your lips."
Looking at the wound on her lips only made him upset and this soured his mood.
"I can do it by myself," she said quietly, but then she dreaded his reply. What if he reminded her about just now when she thought that she liked to be touched by him?
Yet, Micah didn't do that. He instead said casually and gently, "I want to do it, let me do it."
"What about the mark on my neck?" Hazel suddenly remembered what he was about to say to her before.
"Oh, you will have that mark for the rest of your eternity."
