Before he could come to a conclusion she had already vanished through the gate. They went back to eating silently.
After turning several corners, she noticed their remodeled car that was built with bulletproof materials and installed with several advanced pieces of equipment.
She stood aside as she let him park beside her along the road safely, he alighted as he assisted her into the car.
"Lady Marshal, where to?" He politely inquired as he sat down on the driver's seat while she sat down on the passenger seat.
"Let's go to Sarova Clubhouse.." she balanced her seat as she leaned back leisurely relaxing.
Mu Xi concentrated on driving while she closed her eyes resting.
Inside the mansion, Lai JiCheng lost his appetite, he got the table napkin and wiped his mouth before he went upstairs to his bedroom.
While the ones that were left all alone in the dining room also went to the visitors' room to rest, everyone was moody.
Driving through the highway, they were suddenly targeted by a sniper and Xie Mo caught a glimpse of that red dot.
"Turn left 20 degrees and then to the right three rolls, go down the left sub-highway." Her voice was cold as she instructed while she dangerously narrowed her eyes.
The sniper narrowly missed the target after the sudden turn of the car catching him off guard and the bullet hit Xie Mo's left shoulder on the upper chest, through the narrowed slit of the car window.
"Ssshh.." she hissed in pain as blood began trickling down from the bullet wound.
"Mu Xi, what kind of dirty dealings did you do with this car?" Her question was straight to the point as she pressed a hand onto her wound trying to stop the wound from bleeding.
Mu Xi hadn't expected the bullet to hit her, he had seen that he was targeted but he hadn't done anything wrong, his hands that were holding the staring shook in fright as he tightened them trying to calm himself down.
"Lady Marshal, I really haven't done anything with the car apart from driving you around." His shaking voice hurriedly explained as his face paled. Could she have taken the bullet for me or I'm thinking too much into it?'
" If it's the case, why are we being targeted? All right drive down that road there is a clinic in there." She instructed as he stepped on the gas and went down the sub-highway to her left side.
They knew they couldn't find the sniper so it was better to treat the wound first and then try to check the loopholes.
She alighted after he parked the car and walked into the small clinic, since it was dark into the night, very few people were coming in and out of it.
They approached the doctor, "Doctor I need you to remove this bullet and treat my wound." Her voice was raspy and cold while her right hand was pressed onto the wound.
" I'm sorry Miss, I can't treat that, you have to follow the right protocol.." He declined as he didn't know why they could have a gunshot, what if they were gangsters?
Mu Xi pulled out his handgun and pressed it against his forehead since he was sitting on his chair, while they were standing.
"You can choose what you want, either you treat her or a bullet." Mu Xi was already used to the rough way of getting things done.
The doctor shook in fright as he stood up and went into the mini-theatre and began operating, after a few minutes, the bullet was removed as he sew the wound together and applied for medicine before wrapping it.
Mu Xi assisted her as they went back into the car, "where do you want to go to?" He inquired after sitting down in the driver's seat.
"To Sarova Clubhouse.." Her hoarse voice responded, Mu Xi, drove through the highway and finally arrived at the Clubhouse.
She alighted as Mu Xi assisted her and walked into the club, she was feeling a little dizzy but still, she was able to move.
They took her usual private room and settled down, "What can I offer you, Lady Marshal?" The manager hurriedly approached them and inquired in panic, this was the first time his boss has visited the place since it was opened.
"Bring some wine and bring those girls here... I need to clean up.." she leaned back against the couch trying to relax a little.
