Punishment

Luther didn't consider today's fight a victory as alot of his friends were injured and so he wanted to quickly fall asleep and hopefully forget about the situation, hopefully that would solve this horrible feeling he was having.

Sitting in the dark Henry couldn't sleep so he decided to cultivate.

Richard decided to keep quiet and didn't say anything, despite his unwillingness he eventually fell asleep after awhile.

Morning came and the day started in silence for most of the boys. The usually rowdy bathroom was less lively, sure they were those enjoying themselves but most of them had a hint of depression written on their faces.

Just as the first class was about to start a very old woman with wrinkles on her pale skin and wearing armor was standing at the front of the class.

"To the boys whom are in dorm D, you know what you did. Your expected to do these things until Friday. If not for the event coming next week I'd personally beat the crap out of each and everyone of you" The old lady said as she slammed her walking stick down. She handed letters with punishment on them to the culprits. When she heard what happened, she decided to deal with the matter herself.

This was the head of discipline at the academy, everyone knew her as the symbol of justice. She stopped at nothing to get the truth and punish whoever was wrong regardless of status. She'd go out of her way to help those in need but was extremely cruel to those who were bad.

"Ms Hendricks, what event might you be talking about" Sitting by his desk teacher Samuel asked curiously. He didn't get along with most of the teachers or staff at the academy but this old lady was an exception as they both shared similar views.

"Samual you should try attending the meetings. It has gotten better with the new kid being principal. As for the event, it's too decide which one amongst the first years will be taken for the dungeons. The higher ups think it's better for them to experience it first hand and get a feel for what's to come." the old lady spoke, the angry stern look from earlier changed to a calm one, it seemed like she was explaining something to her son.

" *sigh* fine I'll give it a try. Wait isn't that held at the end of the year, and is it gonna be the same as last year's?" Samual asked.

"Yes it will be. Apparently this will happen every two weeks. *Sigh* Honestly I don't know what those guys up there are thinking. Hopefully I will see you at the meeting" Ms Hendricks said as she turned and left.

The day continued on like usual and Henry learnt during lunch that the others from their dorm also got a visit from the old lady. Everything went on like normal until they arrived at their dorm.

They were immediately greeted by Ms Hendricks who handed them a clean tooth brush and told them to start scrubbing the building floors. "I want this place so clean that I can see my reflection off of it" she said.

They took a toothbrush and joined another group of boys who were scrubbing on the third floor. Along the way they saw all the boys from their dorm working themselves to the bone, even Brody and his group were there. They could see the unwillingness and and regret in their eyes as they passed by.

"Did she get you guys too? Or did you willingly joined the party" Trevor whispered as he dipped his toothbrush in a nearby bucket.

"What do you mean, and why are you whispering?" Luther asked in confusion but Trevor ignored him and got back to work. The other boys who were slacking immediately got back to scrubbing and this time they were vigorous.

"Ouch"

As soon as he asked, Luther cried out as a walking stick hit him on the head, he turned around and saw the old lady staring at him. He was confused since he was sure that she didn't follow them.

"I could die of old age if I waited for you to finish, less chatting and more scrubbing" Ms Hendricks said staring at the boys. She soon disappeared after the boys got back to work. Soon after the boys heard her shouting from the second floor.

"Now do you guys understand, as soon as I saw what was happening I tried to run away but a person dressed in black grabbed me before I could turn around and brought me here, turns out this place is currently crowling with them"

"This is the punishment, I guess. I don't know why she wants to see here reflection on the floors anyways" Trevor whispered softly and he scrubbed in frustration. Although he whispered everyone in the hall could hear him.

"Which dumbass puts a hall in a dorm building much less the third floor." Trevor kept whispering complains. They were currently in a hall with about eleven other boys scrubbing like crazy, most of them were tired and agreed with Trevors complains.

4 hours later...

Sitting by a chair near the corner, Ms Hendricks with a stern expression sat there sipping tea.

"Finally done" After a while a boy said in joy. He was covered in sweat and looked visibly tired, he laid there panting hard.

"You lot are really lazy, back in my day, we would work for the whole day and sometime not even sleep." She got up and poked the boy who was resting on the floor with her waking cane. "Go and take a shower and get some sleep."

"Thank you" Another boy got up and bowed towards her in respect.

"Don't think I'm doing this cause I hate, I want you guys to learn that this world doesn't have favorites, those who have the power will bully you and get away with it. That is why you guys need discipline do you hear me, discipline is key" Ms Hendricks said with a stern expression and a bit of emotion in her voice. The boys wondered what happened to her in the past but didn't dare ask.

They respectfully thanked her and left, after what she said they saw her in a new light. They went to the showers and even though they met Brody there, they were all too tired to fight and just took their showers in piece before going to their rooms.

"I'm guessing he's planning something against me or he might swing that way" Henry shivered as he thought about earlier. Brody kept glancing at him every now and than. He decided o meditate to clear his mind.

They woke up sleepy and got ready for the day, the day went on like usual and like a bad joke that didn't need to be repeated Ms Hendricks was waiting for them, this time they had to clean their rooms which didn't take long.

On the third day she had them scrub the outside walls and windows. Some of them tried to hid but were quickly found by a person dressed in black and dragged to their dorm building.

Friday afternoon, dorm building D

The hall on the third floor was full, the boys all looked exhausted as they layed on the floors, the hall didn't have any chairs and looked more like a gym with no equipment. Today they had been tasked with cutting grass around their building and other areas to a certain length which wouldn't have been a problem if not for the fact that they were using uncomfortablely small scissors.

"I hope you guys have learnt your lesson, if not for this event I wouldn't have been so kind. If I have to come back again because of something like this, I promise you lot, your gonna regret it" Ms Hendricks said as she looked around.

Although she didn't raise her voice, the boys felt fear from her words. Maybe it was the constant "discipline" to their heads but the boys all feared this old lady.

"Anyways I hope we don't meet again under such circumstances and good luck on the test" Ms Hendricks said as she disappeared.

The tension in the room instantly disappear as the atmosphere got lighter, everyone sighed in unison as they thought back to the hellish week they had.

As for the event she was talking about. This morning their teachers announced that they would all be participating in an event of some sorts that would benefit them. They didn't give much information on the matter and just encourage them to do their best.
