Why is life cruel

(Edythe POV)

T'was a day like any other, me and ed were sitting around conversing via our minds about how sad this cursed life is when Alice suddenly got a vision.

As we all rush to her side, worried for her wellbeing, she gets up and hugs Ed in joy, reading her mind had bore fruit on the matter at hand.

Eds is going to find his love, companion, mate, or whatever you call it, which I find highly unlikely as both of us had said we want someone whose mind we cannot read.

We know the curse of knowing what everyone thinks at all times, each of their deep dark thoughs, and both come to accept it's impossible for us to find anyone.

But while I was contemplating the matter, Alice drops like a sack of potatoes once more, this time being caught by Jasper.

Up again, it seems it's my turn to be hugged by the dancing fairy. Usually, I would push away, but the vision she just had stunned me silent.

A boy and I were walking home in a hurry. Both of us seemed to be happy, our hands interlocked.

I don't know how to feel about this.

Ed has met his singer. Looking at his thoughts, it was easy to see he held a particular attraction to the girl and the fact we can't see her thoughts proves in my mind she's the one for him.

I couldn't help but agree with his reluctance to give her our curse. No one should suffer what we have, let alone the one we love.

Several days passed as Ed, and I skipped school, but finally, the weather was fine for us to go again. Alice and Rosalie still went to school to 'scout' Eds future partner.

It's silly, I think. Why would they waste their time looking at some girl and risk being exposed to the sun? It wasn't like they could hide it with how bad Alice was at acting.

It was the end of the school day, and snow and ice littered the car park floors. It was an accident waiting to happen, I thought, and it seemed I was proven right as a van headed towards the Bella girl and...

Damn. even seeing it in Alice's vision hadn't prepared me enough. He definitely ticks most my list. Tall, handsome I just need to know if I can read his mind. I hope not.

While I was amazed by him, the van had gotten closer, yet he showed no outward reaction as if it wasn't him in trouble but the vehicle.

I rushed over quickly and stood before him as the van slammed into me and got pushed in the direction of Ed.

'Weird, why is it that some lass had appeared before me in this instant and tanked the hit? I had thought I would be alright, but it seemed someone doubted my strength.'

What? it seemed I could read his mind. A pity I had thought he was the one.

"Are you alright?" I asked in a concerned tone.

'You already slighted my honor by saving me, but you wish to continue by vocalizing your doubts, heretic, I say off with her head!' What is he on about?

"Why hath thee come to my aid?" He questioned,

"What?" I asked, what was wrong with him? Shouldn't he be grateful that I saved his life?

'It seems my mere presence has stunned her into silence.'

"No, it hasn't," I involuntarily replied. I'm usually more composed, but something about him seemed to spur me on.

'Gru! Nalkroro have lat breached ul tok ro my hugi?' What. The. Fuck? is he mentally well? Ed gets some ordinary girl, and my future partner is some mentally insane dude. Fuck, why is life so cruel.

Watching as he goes berates the driver reinforces my idea that he's an insane person. His mind is such a mess of thoughts that it's almost impossible to read

Ed and Rosalie are fighting again, this time about our saving of the other two. Speak of the devil's, they head towards us after leaving their dad.

Bella seemed focused on Ed as if he's the only one in the world that matters while Bob is... looking out the window and talking about some trap?

'Shoot, I forgot that they could breach the hallowed walls of my mind palace and lay claim to my most prized thoughts. Quick, sir, Bobby thinks of something.'

This might be bad. While it's unlikely anyone will believe him the Volturi would use it as a way to start a war against us finally should he tell anyone.

'Nyan nyan ny....' Nevermind, I don't think anyone will believe him.

"Are you alright?" I asked, concerned if he had hit his head as a child or recently.

'Nyan nyan nya...' I think he had hit his head.

"You're not hurt, are you?" Mentally that is, how can some think of nothing but cat sounds? It just doesn't make sense.

'Nyan nyan nya..."

"WILL YOU STOP THAT!" both I and Ed yelled. It seemed it distracted him from his talk with Bella, but I couldn't help but agree with him.

"What did he do?" the crazy boy's sister asked, surprised at our sudden yelling.

"You shouldn't worry about me, emo lass. It would take more than that to lay a scratch upon my skin," he said as he spun on his heel and walked away, leaving me to contemplate why being around him gave me such warmth.

Am I doomed to spend the rest of my immortal existence with someone whose thoughts you can never tell? I had wished for it, but reality is often disappointing. Feeling Ed give me a silent pat on the back I sighed and entered dad's office.

Traversing upstream, it wasn't long until I came to a lake. I set up my fishing gear while turning on the lyrical masterpiece of Something about you girl by IceJJFish, indeed a once-in-a-lifetime banger.

Ah, peace and quiet tis such a splendid thing, just me, the small fishys, and my hunting rifle loaded with incendiary rounds. It doesn't get better than this.

Unfortunately, someone pale fuck has been stalking me since I left my abode, following me up the stream and watching as I set up my fishing camp.

"Show yourself!" I yelled into the quiet forest, my rifle loaded to my side.

Watching as a middle-aged scrub steps out onto the muddy shores of the lake. A deathly white complexion and vivid crimson eyes stare at me.

"State your intention, heathen," I command, locking eyes with them but they seemed content in ignoring me with a smug smirk.

Courting Death! Raising my rifle towards the pale prick, ready to fire.

"Oh, I love this part," the man states as if my weapon was but a mere water pistol—What a fool.

*Bang*

"Ahhhhhh!!!!" serves him right for disturbing my peaceful fishing trip, but man did the bastard go up like a torch. It almost makes me feel bad.

*Bang*

"Ahhhhhh!" Almost. I think as I shoot another shot into his face, this time hitting his exposed eye.

"Will you shut up!" I yelled at the Human torch. I mean, who told him to get shot? He shouldn't be such a baby about it, grow a pair mate.

*Whoosh*

*Whoosh*

Hm? looks like I have more visitors. facing towards the new arrivals, one a massive black wolf, as you do, while the other is Dr cold body.

"Sup?" I asked as if the screaming man on fire wasn't anything to do with me. This seems to catch Dr ded and Wolfy by surprise, I wonder why?

"Mr. Swan, what is going on here?" Dr. Pale asked as three more of his brood arrived at the lake the tank, the Fairy and the emo boy, sounds like a shit children's book, but they all seemed quite shocked at my newly made campfire.

The plump wolf was probably upset for being ignored and howled to call for backup, to which three more of its own arrive. Things are lighting up it seems, or is that just the guy on fire?

"Well, Dr., what's your face? ye boi was enjoying a peaceful fishing trip with the fishys when some pale fucker appeared out of nowhere intent on getting shot," I responded to him with the cold hard truth, but can he handle the tru tru?

"Then why is he on fire," Doc asked. Hm? Looking over to the freshly made ashy remains, I couldn't help but worry for his patients if his eyesight was this poor.

"He's not on fire tho?" I asked, confused. His question only doubled the idea of his lack of brain wrinkles.

"Why WAS he on fire then" Good, at least he knows past and present tense.

"No idea mate, he might have needed to get gud..." I trailed off at the end as I wondered about the prospects of teabagging the ashes. Looking at the pale group again, Emo seemed to go even paler and on the verge of puking.

Welp, now my lovely fishing trip has been ruined by some Human torch wannabe. I think it's time for me to head back to Basecamp. With that thought in mind, I packed my gear away before heading downstream.

I would have been stopped if it weren't for the good doggos who growled at the pale gang when they tried to stop me. Such good boys; maybe I should get them a treat?

Sup ye fools, tis ye boio again ready to lay down the big tru tru... but first leave ye stones and write a review else ye get slapped by my magnam dong.
