Sinopse

Luis Sanchez, a private detective with a mysterious past, once brought down the notorious "Inferno" mafia gang. But beneath his reputation, he guards an extraordinary secret. In his own home, he hides the daughter of the imprisoned mafia kingpin, concealed by a new identity as his cousin. She is a human, yet not quite; a creation born of science and ethereal mystery, a clone with mysteries even she can't unravel, but Luis understands. Their history goes back to Luis infiltrating the Inferno mafia, where he seduced and manipulated her, extracting information about her mafia boss father with no remorse, only to cast her aside once his mission was accomplished. Now, fate brings them together, living under one roof and getting to know the real her, Luis found himself falling helplessly in love. The tables had turned, and he longed for redemption, a love he could no longer attain. In a complex tale of love, secrets, and deception, their shared past haunts them. The mafia boss's daughter holds a revelation that could shake their world. Can love heal the wounds Luis once inflicted, or will it be their ultimate downfall in this intricate dance of destiny? -------- "You didn't actually think I was trying to get back together with you though, right? " Luis purred, his manipulation once more evident. Catherine's obsidian gaze remained locked on him with disbelief, her eyes saying things her lips were too afraid to say. Annoyance, indignation, disappointment and confusion, everything was there. A sly grin curved upon Luis's lips as he lounged back, seemingly nonchalant. His eyes, though, betrayed his inner turmoil. As they subconsciously tried to avoid looking into Catherine's, those azure eyes flickered toward the tranquil pond, where koi fish created mesmerizing ripples. "Don't you at least feel sorry for the things you did to me, Luis? " But this straightforward question of Catherine earned her his attention back. Luis had no choice but to meet her obsidian eyes again and he just stared down into them. For awhile, no words came out of his lips. Luis's stoic expression made it hard to tell what he exactly was even thinking. His azure eyes were too much for Catherine to handle. And the longer she looked into them, the more she could feel her own heart beating faster, almost making her forget what a serious question she just asked him now. She turned her head away to calm down her poor heart. "I do. " Two words finally broke the silence between them, catching Catherine by surprise. This was the answer she had expected the least to hear from this man, a master of manipulation. The next second, their eyes locked again. But just as Catherine thought she might catch a glimpse of sincerity in those eyes, Luis leaned in all closer, which freaked her out. Without a word, he gently pressed her against the bench, stirring her anxiety. Catherine's breathing now became faster as she realized how Luis's lips were so close to brushing against hers. She tried to look down, hoping this would just convince Luis to stop whatever he was trying to do to her. But Luis was unyielding. His fingers, both gentle and commanding, tilted her chin upwards, their gazes locking in a dangerous magnetic struggle. "There's not a day I haven't felt bad for manipulating you or using you. " Luis whispered, his breath warm against her ear. And as he shifted his attention from her lips to her profile, the man continued his confession. But Catherine couldn't bother to believe him anymore. She just knew this was one of his manipulations again. "But when you're this useful to me, and the benefits of exploiting you are too tempting..." ------- Please vote and comment if you like my novel ! Prologue- Anxiety is a deadly self-aware state, where a person just spirals into a self-sabotaging thought process. And the worst aspect about it- nobody knows. It is a war one fights with oneself, quietly. It cannot be seen. It must not be seen. The world must not know what chaotic thoughts wander in this head; thoughts given birth by that very world. Looking at the board in front of her, Cecily tried her best to get the words written, but all in vain. The professor went ahead with the explanation, and he did stop quite a few times to ask if anybody had doubts, but Cecily just looked around hoping that someone was as lost as she was. She was afraid to stand out, always. Even in crisis, she would rather bear the consequences than stand up for herself. She stared at the board, and the train of thoughts finally left the station. Thought? More like questions! Questions of her worthless existence, questions about her choice of career, questions about her dumb self, and questions she confessed she did not have answers to. For years, she was trying so hard to hide this side of hers. She used to sit with the questions alone and deal with them. Cecily closed her eyes, as she tried to focus on her raging breathing, and calm herself down. ‘No unwanted scene Cecily! No unwanted chaos!’, she thought to herself. But it did not work. She could still feel losing control, something she didn’t like. And then a voice messed up more. “How are you doing guys? Do you understand what prof. Ali is saying?”, the voice was close. Not right next to her, but close. And it was calm, confident, and soothing, almost urging her to give in. Not caring for the world for once, and finally, she let go! She let the world see who she is. A broken being trying so hard to look brand new! She was anything but new. With a gasp, she tapped the table, as the air left her lungs at a frightening rate. She could hear voices around her, but she could not see anything. She gave in to her thoughts, and the voices in her head took over. Threw her around like a ball, laughed, and mocked as she tried hard to do one simple thing- breathe. “Cecily are you okay?”, a voice prominent than all landed in her ears. She recognized it immediately. It was her professor. A tall man with a moustache, a scary-looking man but a humble person. “I am taking her out of here. No one follows. She needs some air!”, he said and helped Cecily out of her seat. Cecily knew it would pass. It had happened many times, enough for her to know that it would pass. An anxiety attack was not something that bothered her. The voices she was used to. They were always there, with or without attack. They were a part of her. But all Cecily could think about was- where did that voice go? Did she scare him? What is she to him now- a freak?

I'm usually not a fan of such stories but you executed it really well! The plot is expressive and engaging. Your writing is complex(in a good way) and evokes the right feelings. It's impressive, honestly. I could be wrong but, I think the readers of this app, or even the traditional books prefer a simple language. I mean you can use such creative descriptions for every three or four paragraphs but I feel like you overdid it a little? For me though, it's negligible. I feel like you did a really good job! Keep going!

this idea of story is honestly really interesting. The story development is fantastic. the writing quality is a bit of, but I guess that can be fixed. Congratulations on a good story.

Writing quality is really high, but one thing I would like more is more idea of what each person is thinking about the situation. Also the flow from one chapter to the next feels slightly off. Besides that really solid writing and story and people who are a fan of this genre can't find many complaints. I would say keep reading and writing it suits you.

I stumbled upon this gem, and it's unlike anything I've usually read before. A story about a human clone is a refreshing twist, and it had me hooked from the start! 😘This novel blends elements of romance, suspense, and moral dilemmas seamlessly. From what i've read so far to chapter 7, the story centers on Luis Sanchez, a private detective with a complicated past, and it's his inner conflicts, manipulations and redemption that really hooked me. But what makes it fascinating is Catherine, the mysterious human clone. If I'm not wrong, she doesn't even know that she's a clone yet! There's this palpable tension between her and Luis that had me totally engrossed. Their unspoken desires? Yep, you'll want to keep reading to see where it all goes! The character development here is pretty impressive, especially with Luis. But I gotta admit, I wanted more from the supporting characters you know, a bit more depth to make them pop. And yeah, there were times when things felt like they were rushing ahead. Some scenes, I thought, could use a bit more time to really soak in. But hey, this is still a real page-turner. It keeps you guessing, and that tension between Luis and Catherine? Well, that's something you'll want to dive into for sure. Give it a shot!I'm pleasantly surprised by this gem and can't wait for more updates. I'd give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars! Great job, author!💞💝
