Chapter 1: Another Great Day

Today is another great day. Yan Longwei thought in his mind as he started outside. Classes were ordinary, and the weather was best for walking. There was nothing strange.

"Have a great day, everyone." The teacher bowed his head, and the students did the same before he left. As the students got up from their seats,

"Longwei, wanna hang out today?" The person who called out to Yan Longwei was a handsome man. He was the dandy type: sweet and kind.

"...I'm good." Yan Longwei quickly shook his head.

Qi Li scoffed, "It's been a week since we hung out. And I know you don't have anything to do at this hour." Yan Longwei turned his head away. Qi Li caught him.

"And become the third wheel? Ahem, no way." Yan Longwei quickly made an x with his hand.

Qi Li coughed. A tint of red formed on his cheeks as he explained, "Relax, we won't be doing any of that today."

Yeah, right. "You guys are way too close-" Before Yan Longwei could finish his sentence, he got slapped in the head!

"So what if I'm close with my honey?" Another voice cut in. Yan Longwei turned to glare at the girl.

It was a girl. She had short bobbed hair, and her height was at least a head shorter than Yan Longwei and Qi Li's.

"Qingzhao, don't get so mad. Wrinkles are going to form." Qi Li soothed the girl. And that demonic face she showed went a 180 as she gave a bright smile,

"I want more hugs."

"I can give you all of that." Qi Li brightly smiled as he hugged Zeng Qingzhao.

"See. You guys are way too lovey-dovey." Yan Longwei snorted. Wi Li and Zeng Qingzhao were the class couple.

Zeng Qingzhao smirked, "That's because we're a perfect match." She looked up at Qi Li, "Right?"

"Mmhmm."

The two had been dating for 3 years, and it was strong. They were so in love that they didn't care about anyone around them.

"Anyways, I'm going to go home." Yan Longwei didn't want to sit there and look at this scene.

But then an arm grabbed onto his shoulders,

"Hold up!" It was Zeng Qingzhao, "Who said you could leave?"

"I did."

"We're going to eat at that cafe today. Are you sure you don't-"

"I'm in!" Without finishing the sentence, Yan Longwei agreed. And then he cursed at himself.

Damn! My sweet tooth!

Zeng Qingzhao gave an evil look while Qi Li was weary. Like that, the three of them walked to the nearby cafe.

Sipping on his milk tea,

"Alright, I'm going to leave!" Yan Longwei was going to make a run for it.

"Wait, don't go!" But Qi Li grabbed his hand.

"Don't you guys want to be extra lovey-dovey?! This is the perfect chance for you guys to do it!" This cafe was for couples! Couples! They were the only three-person group here.

"But it wouldn't be fun without you here." Qi Li said as he gave the ultimate technique; puppy dog eyes.

"..." No mortals could say no to those eyes. Yan Longwei slowly sat back down. Fine. But then he turned over to Zeng Qingzhao,

"So, what do you want from me?" He was giving that woman the stink eyes.

Zeng Qingzhao placed her hand together, "Please, oh good lord Longwei, Bless me with your homework!"

"..." I knew it! Yan Longwei turned to Qi Li, and the latter turned his head away. When Qi Li used puppy dog eyes, Yan Longwei knew it was a setup.

And it was hook, line, and sinker.

Yan Longwei sighed, "...Five parfaits."

"...One." There was no way she could pay for five parfaits!

Yan Longwei turned to Qi Li, "Qi Li, what was the homework again? Refresh my memory?"

"... Two english essays, three worksheets, and a couple of math problems." Qi Li revealed everything.

"Why is there so much?" Wasn't there a little too much?

"...Past homework."

Yan Longwei stared back, "5 parfait." There was no way he would hand in his work without getting anything back.

"Three parfaits! That's the most I can do!" Zeng Qingzhao could only pay so much.

"Fine." Yan Longwei didn't hesitate as he tossed his homework, "I'll give you one day to finish it up."

"Gotcha." Holding onto the paper, Zeng Qingzhao looked up at the sky. Her voice didn't sound good at all.

My allowance is gone. But this is all worth it.

"And a thank you. Excuse me." Yan Longwei didn't hesitate as he called for a waiter.

And a moment later, the waiter came back with a giant parfait!

"Hold up! I didn't say you could order something so big!" Zeng Qingzhao didn't think he would do something like that.

"You said three. Never said what size I can get." Yan Longwei triumphantly laughed as he started eating.

"...My allowance." Zeng Qingzhao could only cry in this situation. She could see the money in her pockets disappearing in the air.

Qi Li patted her back, "I'll pay for it."

"Honey!" Zeng Qingzhao cried out in happiness. Her saving grace was none other than her boyfriend.

"Ughh, I think I had too much sugar." Yan Longwei groaned. Just looking at the scene in front of him caused his throat to go sore. He was dying from an overdose of sugar.

Zeng Qingzhao glared, "You can only say these things because you don't have a girlfriend." She stuck out her tongue as she finished.

"If I did have a girlfriend, I wouldn't be acting so lovey-dovey every day." Yan Longwei retorted.

"We don't act like this every single day." Zeng Qingzhao's voice became lower.

"Oh, really?" Yan Longwei squinted his eyes, "What about what happened at lunch today?"

"That was normal." Zeng Qingzhao only gave Qi Li a homemade lunchbox.

"Then what about how you guys kept glancing at each other in class."

"Ugh," "We didn't do that.

"You guys did that." Yan Longwei saw it all. He sat in the back of the classroom. He had a clear view of Qi Li and Zeng Qingzhao.

"..." "..." The two had no words.

"You know you were killing the people around you." The people who sat around Qi Li and Zeng Qingzhao had cold dead fish eyes.

"I'm sorry." Both of them apologized quickly.

"Tsk. Just be mindful of what you guys were doing." Yan Longwei shook his head as he ate the parfait.

After getting lectured, there wasn't much to do after that.

"Remember two parfaits!" Yan Longwei screamed.

"I know!" Zeng Qingzhan's look was deadly. If it wasn't for the homework he gave, she would beat him to a bloody pulp!

As Yan Longwei walked home, Zeng Qingzhao's words went through his mind.

There were no thoughts about having a girlfriend. He just didn't want a girlfriend.
