chapter 10

Eamon's POV

The day of Luka's funeral arrived, a somber and overcast sky matching the heavy hearts of the pack. We had gathered in the pack's ceremonial grounds, where a makeshift altar had been set up, adorned with flowers and candles. Isadora watched from the window of her chamber, her friend Lisa standing beside her, their eyes filled with sadness and guilt. She hadn't said much since her return; she was always locked in, and her friend Lisa did the running around for her. I could see that Luka's sacrifice weighed heavily on her, or maybe it was more, coupled up with our relationship issues and the baby on the way.

As Alpha, it was my duty to honor those who had fallen in the line of duty. Luka had given his life to protect Isadora, and he deserved a hero's farewell. It's the least I could do. People misunderstand me most times, including Isadora, but I'm just only trying to put my pack first. The pack warriors stood in formation, all dressed up in the Fire Wolf pack uniform, their heads bowed in respect as I approached the altar, a solemn hush falling over the gathering as I ascended the podium.

"Luka was a brave and loyal member of our pack," I began, my voice carrying across the crowd. "He made the ultimate sacrifice to protect one of our own, and for that, we owe him a debt that can never be repaid."

I could see the pain in the eyes of the pack members, many of whom had known Luka for years. He had been a friend, a brother, and his loss was deeply felt.

"To his family," I continued, "we offer our deepest condolences. Luka's share of the reward money will be doubled and given to them to provide for his loved ones in his absence."

There was a solemn nod from the council members, and I turned to face the pack warriors who had accompanied Isadora on the rescue mission. They had risked their lives to bring her back safely, and I owed them a debt of gratitude.

"As for the brave warriors who brought Isadora back," I said, my voice firm with resolve, "you have not only fulfilled your duty but exemplified the values of our pack. Isadora is alive today because of your courage."

I could see a mix of emotions in their eyes - relief, pride, and grief for their fallen comrade.

"In recognition of your bravery, each of you will receive a share of the reward money," I declared, my gaze sweeping across the group. "But know this, the memory of Luka will forever be etched in our hearts. We will not rest until justice is served, and Alpha Jack pays for his crime as this is unforgivable."

The warriors nodded, their determination matching my own. Justice would be served.

The ceremony concluded with a heavy atmosphere, but beneath the surface, a storm brewed. As we paid our respects to Luka, discreet intel reached my ears about Alpha Jack's mate's father throwing a grand 90th birthday party on the outskirts of the Blood Moon Pack territory. It was an unexpected opportunity - a surprise attack that would catch Alpha Jack off guard.

I leaned over to Victor, my voice low and filled with deadly intent. "Prepare a strike team. We're crashing that party."

Victor nodded, his eyes reflecting the same determination that coursed through me. We couldn't let Alpha Jack's brutal actions go unanswered. Justice would be served, and it would be served with fire and fury.

As the funeral came to a close, I discreetly gathered with the strike team. These were individuals who had proven their loyalty time and time again, and now, they would be instrumental in our retaliation against Alpha Jack.

Under the cover of darkness, we moved with stealth and precision towards the location of the birthday party. The distant sound of music and laughter filled the air, a stark contrast to the grim purpose that had brought us here.

We reached the outskirts of the party grounds, hidden in the shadows, our eyes focused on the large mansion where the celebration was taking place. I could feel the bloodlust coursing through my veins, a primal urge for vengeance that threatened to consume me.

"Remember, we strike fast and without mercy," I reminded my warriors. "Alpha Jack will know that we are here, and he will not hesitate to defend his pack. But we will not be deterred, stay active and mount your guard at all times."

With that, we stormed the party, our presence like a sudden storm on a clear night. Chaos erupted as we attacked, the element of surprise working in our favor. Screams filled the air as my warriors clashed with Alpha Jack's pack members.

I spotted Alpha Jack's mate's father, a frail old wolf, sitting at the head of a long table.

"Just how I like them, scared and fragile, like a little baby."

Without hesitation, I lunged at him, silver dagger in hand. He barely had time to register my presence before I drove the dagger into his chest, cutting it open.

His eyes widened in shock, his feeble attempts to fight back futile. With a swift, brutal motion, I cut his heart out, the silver dagger gleaming in the torchlight. It was a gruesome sight, but it sent a clear message.

"Blood for blood," I whispered, my voice filled with a cold, ruthless determination.

The party was in chaos, and Alpha Jack's pack members were in disarray. We had struck a decisive blow, and I knew that this would not go unanswered. But I was ready for whatever retaliation Alpha Jack had in store. We would not back down.

I found a wooden table in the center of the carnage, a gruesome tableau of fallen bodies and spilled blood.

I placed Alpha Jack's mate's father's heart, now preserved in a bucket of ice, at the center of the table. It was a grotesque sight, a chilling testament to our ruthlessness. Beside it, I laid a letter, the words carefully chosen to mock everything Alpha Jack represented. It read:

"Revenge is a dish best served cold and from the heart. With love, yours faithfully, Alpha Eamon."

Each word dripping with icy contempt, like the venom of a poisonous snake.

It was a clear message, a warning that we were not to be trifled with, and that we would stop at nothing to protect our own. With the message in place, I nodded to my pack warriors, and we made our swift exit from the scene, leaving behind a party filled with the lifeless bodies of the Blood Moon pack members.

The night was far from over, and the battle was just beginning. Alpha Jack would undoubtedly seek vengeance for what had transpired, but he would do so with the knowledge that we were a force to be feared. We had struck a blow that could not be ignored, and the scales of justice had been tipped in our favor
