I Can Talk to the Essence of Everything

Liam is a typical spoon-fed rich guy who tossed it all out the window. Well, he wasn't exactly specific as he could control the world… that is if he wanted to do that. He was more into adventure and learning. You could call him the curious cat, as his curiosity brought him a lot of trouble. He is the only person who can see and interact with the condensed forms of matter. He calls them Avatars of the World, but they call him a World Reader. It's a name they didn't come up with; instead, they knew what he was without any idea what it meant. They also felt the need to protect the child of the worlds, which brought them the Worlds Readers anger as he didn't like being protected to this extent. The trouble came searching for him, and that trouble would come at him every time… Fortunately, Liam decides to explore the trouble that one seed brought him, as it seems he has no other choice. He lands on a new planet and decides to learn more about it. Then, finally, starting to feel excited by all the strangeness and meeting some terrifying things and humans with strange kinds of social hierarchy. At least he won't be bored anymore, is what he thinks. '**' There will be a tiny mention of a system later, but that is just a small part. And that would happen after he completes an assignment he does not know about. **** Art, not mine. I don't know the artist either. Sorry. Liam was unsure if he should or not add the energy gathering info in the letter. In the end, he didn't and thought that it might be for the best or the world would become too unbalanced.

After finishing the letter to his brother, he stared at the horizon, thinking that it might be the last time he saw this view. He sighed and collected the stuff he was going to take with him. Everything else was stashed inside a tree hole that he covered with a simple branch. Simple things usually make the best hiding places. After all, many times he had searched for things that were placed right in front of him.

If people were awake, they would see a young man running. They'd also be stunned by his speed.

He, himself was silently cursing himself, but he could only blame his own curiosity. If he had just rested and not meddled in things he shouldn't have. Well, no one could blame him, after all no one knew that he shouldn't have done that.

He was late, the old man was waiting and he was thinking that the boy may have just been pulling his leg. He wasn't mad, the boy had basically given him a payment. The old man got up from his sitting position, sighed, and went to his boat, he made his preparations and untied one of the ropes. He looked toward the town to hopefully see the young man, but he could not see him. He lowered his head and hunched over to untie the second rope when it suddenly loosened by itself.

He looked at the other end of the rope to find the young man holding it. He was confused. Where had he come from? He took a closer look at him to see him panting a little.

"I apologize for being late," he said respectfully.

"It's nothing, nothing to worry about," the old man replied, relief washing over him.

"Hop over, before it drifts too far," the old man said, warning the boy but when he looked at the boy on the docks, he didn't see him.

"Thank you for the warning," the boys' voice comes from behind him. "Do I need to do something?" he asked respectfully.

"Yes, where do you need me to take you?" the old man said gruffly. He was startled by his fast movement but didn't show it on his face. Either way, the boy was acting politely, even to him, the biggest bum in this place.

Liam then rummaged in his bag pockets to pull out a map. He unfolded it and showed the man a location marked with a black marker.

"That place has many volcanos, are you sure you want to go there?" he asked putting out the biggest no-no of that place.

"Mh, yes," he smiled gently, "That's why I need to go there," he said to the old man.

"Mhm, oh, by the way, you can call me Gramps Din or Old Man Din, how should I call you?" he suddenly recalled that he didn't know the boys' name.

"Nice to meet you, Din, I'm Liam," he said, purposefully leaving out his family name. There was a reason for it. Saying the family name left a trace, especially when a family member said it.

Gramps went to steer the boat after that.

An hour and a half later, Gramps called out to Liam.

"We have arrived, what do you want to do now?" he asked Liam.

Liam put his hand on his shoulder and looked into his eyes.

"Steere this boat half an hour east, draw the mark I have carved on this boat on the water, and wait, the sea will give you a reward, do this once a week for a year and all your current troubles will be over. Know this, this will only last for a year and if you miss a week you won't be given twice the amount. Goodbye, I was never here," Liam lifted his hand and looked away from his eyes, walked to the side of the boat, and fell backward into the water.

Liam was borrowing his family members' powers. He couldn't use it naturally and had to fulfill a few conditions for the powers to work properly. Like a physical touch and eye contact. That was why he could use it.

He had put rocks inside his bag, so it would let him descend faster. In the water, he pulled out the canister with a mouthpiece that allowed him to breathe.

Above water, Gramps blinked and thought that he had somehow ended up in the wrong location and steered his boat toward the east. He remembered nothing else about the boy, even yesterday's encounter with him had been turned into some stranger.

Liam was descending fast and the Water Avatar was close by, guiding the water current in a way that took Liam closer to the strange object. The Lava Avatar had pushed the thing out just mere minutes ago. The Lava Avatar couldn't help any longer, so the Water Avatar took over. It was still inside some cave system, but the Water avatar was guiding the mysterious object and Liam toward each other.

About ten minutes later, Liam could feel his heart pounding like crazy, the next moment he laid his eyes on a white glowing object that suddenly moved on its own. Rushing toward Liam as if everything depended on it. Liam suddenly lifted his arms in front of him forming an X.

The glowing thing stopped just before it touched him.

Liam opened his eyes and looked at the thing properly, lowering his arms.

The shape of it reminded him of a seed. Then, complex symbols started to form in front of Liam. He realized then that it had a bit of sentience. The complex symbols formed into words inside his mind and he could understand what it all meant. He could understand the purpose of the seed-like thing. After a moment he realized that it was a seed.

It conveyed its purpose, which made Liam a bit surprised.
