Fanfic about Karna. Not from anime, but from Mahābhārat. I may take some creative liberties. Even those who knows nothing about Mahābhārat can read it. I'll try to make sure to the best of my capabilities. For Sanskrut words, I've used IAST alphabets system.

I remembered.
I remembered my whole life.
They say that when your life is about to end, your whole life passes through your eyes.
The same thing happened to me, but in reverse order.
Maybe that is because my life got worse and worse as time passed on.
To be honest, my life isn't as harsh as others. There were obviously some moments when I felt like I can live like this, I can enjoy a bit.
But that made me lazy, turning my whole life for the worse.
That's why, even now, I look at those memories not with fondness but bitterness.
Truthfully, it is just me who is weak. Someone couldn't just go through with life and society.
I didn't have the courage or the will to face this world.
It was me who was weak.
And yet, I couldn't help but curse at the world and the people.
Maybe it was my wish to go to a simpler time or maybe it was because of how much of an idol that character is, that at the end of my 'flashback'.
The time when I was obsessed with the television show and a particular character in that.
I used to get into an argument with my cousin, who would pose as that character's rival.
We would play imaginary battles like those guys and argue who is stronger.
At the end of the moment, I remembered him.
I wish... I was like him.
I wish... I could be him.
That's why.
After the arduous penance, when the God was pleased and asked for a wish, I could only say,
"I wish to be Karna."
