Chapter 41:The Offer

A month had passed since Jason and Koala had finished scouring the last of the treasure islands. Their efforts had been highly rewarding, with Jason accumulating a staggering 18 billion beli worth of gold and acquiring two rare Devil Fruits. As Jason examined the fruits on the ship, he couldn't help but admire their potential.

The first fruit, the Kesshō Kesshō no Mi or Crystal-Crystal Fruit, was a Paramecia-type that allowed its user to create, manipulate, and become crystal. Jason knew this could provide incredible versatility in battle—impenetrable defenses, sharp, deadly weapons, and reflective surfaces that could confuse and overwhelm enemies. The beauty and hardness of the crystal only added to its strength, making it a deadly asset.

The second fruit, the Kinzoku Kinzoku no Mi or Metal-Metal Fruit, also a Paramecia-type, granted the user control over metal. Its versatility was equally impressive: the power to generate and manipulate various metals, form weapons and armor, or even transform one's own body into metal to increase durability and strength. Jason imagined an entire battlefield reshaped by walls of steel and enemies crushed under waves of molten metal.

Satisfied with their haul, Jason turned his attention to the next task at hand—recruiting Trafalgar Law. According to the map, Law's location was only a week away. Jason had been following Law's rise from a distance, knowing that his expertise in medicine, his strategic mind, and his possession of the Ope Ope no Mi would make him a valuable ally. Law had been on the run ever since his separation from the Donquixote Pirates, but Jason had something to offer that would change the young pirate's life forever.

Koala stood at the helm, guiding their ship smoothly through the waters. The sun was setting behind them, casting a golden glow on the horizon. Jason leaned against the railing, his gold eyes fixed on the map.

"Law's just a week away now," Jason said, his voice calm but filled with purpose.

Koala glanced over her shoulder. "You think he'll join us willingly? He's been on his own for a while, and with Doflamingo after him… he might be a little wary."

Jason smirked. "I have an offer he won't be able to refuse. He's smart enough to know a good opportunity when it's staring him in the face."

A week passed, and they finally reached their destination: an island shaped like a swallow, its wings spread out over the sea. As Jason stepped onto the island, he used his Observation Haki to locate Law's presence. It wasn't long before he sensed him—along with another life form that was more familiar. He began making his way through the dense trees, Koala following silently behind him.

As they emerged from the forest into a clearing, Jason's eyes locked onto a young boy with black hair, practicing with a sword. The boy looked to be around 15 years old, his expression serious as he moved through his drills with precision. Nearby, a large white bear wearing a hoodie was sitting on the ground, watching the boy intently.

Jason took a few steps forward, his white hair and golden eyes catching the fading light of the day. The boy stopped mid-swing and turned to face him, his grip tightening on the sword. The bear immediately stood up, looking cautious but ready to defend the boy.

"Who are you?" Law asked, his tone sharp. He raised his sword toward Jason, his eyes narrowing in suspicion. "Are you here to bring me back to Doflamingo?"

Jason shook his head, unfazed by the boy's defensive posture. "I'm not here for Doflamingo. Quite the opposite, actually." His voice was calm but carried a weight that made Law lower his sword slightly, though he still kept his guard up. "I'm here to recruit you into my crew, Trafalgar Law. And I have an offer you can't refuse."

Law's eyes widened slightly, but his expression remained guarded. "Your crew?" He scoffed, though there was a hint of curiosity in his voice. "Why would I join your crew? I've been on my own for a long time, and I don't need anyone's help. What makes you think you can offer me something worth considering?"

Jason smiled. "I know about you, Law. Your skills, your mind, and the fact that you're not just a doctor—you're a surgeon of death, capable of using the Ope Ope no Mi in ways no one else can. You've been running from Doflamingo for years, trying to survive in this world filled with monsters. But I'm offering you a way out. Join my crew, and not only will you be free from Doflamingo's shadow, but you'll also have the resources and protection you need to fulfill your own goals."

Law remained silent for a moment, weighing Jason's words. He had been on the run for as long as he could remember, always looking over his shoulder, always waiting for the inevitable confrontation with Doflamingo. The idea of finally having the power to fight back was tempting, but he was still skeptical.

"What's in it for you?" Law asked, his tone hard. "Why me? You seem like you have plenty of power already, so why bother with someone like me?"

Jason's smile widened. "Because you're not just any pirate, Law. You're a key player in the future of this world. I don't just recruit anyone—I recruit people with the potential to change the game. You, with your Devil Fruit and your intellect, have that potential. And together, we can achieve something far greater than either of us could alone."

Law's eyes narrowed again, but this time it wasn't out of suspicion—it was out of interest. He had always been ambitious, always dreamed of something more than just survival. And here was a man standing before him, offering him a path toward that future. But there was one more thing he needed to know.

"And what's this offer I can't refuse?" Law asked, lowering his sword entirely now but keeping his gaze locked on Jason.

Jason stepped forward, his presence commanding but not overbearing. "I can give you the resources you need to become stronger than Doflamingo ever imagined. But more than that—I'll give you the freedom to pursue your own dreams, on your own terms. Join me, and you'll have the chance to reshape the world however you see fit."

The offer hung in the air between them, and for a moment, there was only silence. Law looked down at his sword, his mind racing. The idea of finally being free of Doflamingo's grasp was almost too good to be true. But Jason didn't seem like the kind of man to lie or make empty promises. There was power in his words, a certainty that Law hadn't seen in anyone else before.

Finally, Law sheathed his sword and looked up at Jason. "Alright," he said quietly. "I'll join your crew. But know this—I'm not doing this out of loyalty to you. I have my own goals, and if you stand in the way of them, I won't hesitate to leave."

Jason nodded, unfazed. "Fair enough. Just don't forget—you'll have the chance to achieve your goals faster with us than you would on your own."

With the deal made, Jason turned to Koala. "Prepare the ship. We're leaving for the next destination soon."

Koala smiled, giving a thumbs-up before heading back to the ship.

Law, standing next to his companion, Bepo, watched as Jason walked away. He couldn't help but feel that his life had just taken a monumental turn, one that would lead him into a future he hadn't dared to imagine.

As Jason and Koala prepared to set sail, Law followed, his mind filled with both anticipation and uncertainty. He didn't know exactly what was in store for him, but one thing was clear: his days of running were over.
