Chapter 413/57: Dungeon Experience II

[Dungeon]

"Good work everyone! Nice teamwork!"

Those were the first words that Gus had blurted out as he congratulate everyone about a successful subjugation against the chimera. naturally everyone were elated to the fact that they were able to kill a monster of such caliber, however not everyone were happy to the fact that Kaido himself just stood on the sidelines and never helped in the subjugation.

"Well that's all and good if it weren't for someone who just sits it out and waited for everyone to carry the fight" said by the mage who directed his gaze towards Kaido

Hearing the male mage words, the priest together with the swordswoman then commented towards Kaido's non-participation in the subjugation.

"True! He didn't even lift a single finger, how shameless can you be?"

"Is this perhaps your first time encountering a chimera? if it is, then you being frozen in place is acceptable, but if not then what you just did is unacceptable"

After hearing what they said, Kaido simply stayed silent as he completely ignored the two and looked out towards the farthest depths of the pathway. Even thought Kaido isn't troubled by their words, Lilia on the other hand felt bitter as she quickly defended his case.

"Sorry about that everyone! He's with me and this is his first time going into a dungeon" apologized by Lilia

When they heard her own explanation, Gus the leader of the group then came forward as he asked Kaido for confirmation.

"Is what she said true? is this your first dive into a dungeon?"

"Exactly what she said" replied Kaido

"Is that so? then it cant be helped, next time try to help us a bit when defeating an opponent ok? after all participation is the number one key to survival in this place" said Gus with a smile

"Understood" said Kaido

Upon hearing his answer Gus was then satisfied with his words as he consoled everyone before going deeper into the pathway. As the whole group moved from that place after picking up the drop from the chimera, Shelly then quietly scoot behind the group as she then came beside Lilia and spoke to her about the recent situation

"I've never thought that you would be so overprotective towards someone, are you perhaps smitten to this guy named Kaido?" asks Shelly in a teasing tone

"Me? Liking him? that's a huge misinterpretation, I'm just preventing everyone from fighting" said Lilia

"From what? getting your new friend hurt? Caring that much for someone is another term of being in love my dear" said Shelly

"Him getting hurt? hahahaha... that's impossible, you have no idea just how strong he is, in fact i can say that the situation might get reversed" said Lilia

"Really?" asks Shelly

hearing her question, Lilia simply nodded.

As the whole group then moved deeper into the pathway, they soon discovered an opening around at the end of the hallway which leads to an open circular area. When they entered such an area, the pathway that they had gone through then suddenly crumbled down as it completely blocked the entrance with heavy stones.

The only other way that they could escape this circular open area is the closed door at the other side opposite direction from the entrance where they came from. Since it is closed, they could then leave the room the moment they managed to open the door.

With that fact everyone then came before the gigantic door as each and every person in the group except for Kaido tried to open the door with brute strength, unfortunately the door itself never moved. They even tried blasting the door open but to no avail it was all useless.

After failing to open the door, Gus and the rest then begun their deep contemplation about the situation as they try to figure out a way to open the door

"What shall we do? neither magic nor physical strength could open the door, not even our little tricks" asks by the priest

"We even tried searching for any trigger that may open the door around the room" added by the saint

"Are we gonna be stuck here?" asks by the brawler

"Hope not! i got a tight schedule tomorrow" said by the swordswoman

"Well i got a date tomorrow, I'm just doing this dungeon today to earn a little bit of cash before the date" said by the mage

As everyone stated their opinion, Gus then brought up his own deduction about the situation

"Everyone quiet down! Lets think about this for a moment... If the door cannot be opened by any means, doesn't that mean that we must do something here first, before it opens?"

Hearing his opinion the brawler then asked

"Like what? there's nothing here at all, aside from this circular area, the ceiling on the other hand is so high up, to the point that darkness encroach the top, we cant even find any means to climb it"

"Now can we do something to climb it" said by Shelly

"Then doesn't that mean we are left with one option left?" asks by the mage, causing everyone to suddenly turn his way

"Since there are only us in the room, then that could only mean the task to open the door is by either killing everyone in this room aside from myself" said by the mage as his eyes grew crazy due to pressure and held up his staff towards everyone

Seeing his state, Gus then quickly tried to calm him down as he reasoned with the mage.

"Hey! your making a hasty decision! Just calm down!"

In response to his concerned voice, the mage then hastily retreated back as he said.

"No my assumptions is right! It cant be a mistake! I've seen, watched, and read this kind scenario in different books and shows, and the only way to open a locked door is by eliminating  everyone that is inside the room"

"But that's just a fiction!" said Gus

"Bullshit! this dungeon itself is a fiction, yet its still real, anything can happen" said by the mage as his eyes turned bloodshot due to the pressure building up

Upon seeing his resolve and will to do the deed, the rest of the group couldn't help but be swayed by the pressure as they all started distancing from each other and held up their respective weapons.

"No! he maybe right! I'm sorry everyone! but if this is the answer then i couldn't let my guard down" said by the brawler as he glared at every person in the room

"I can't die here, so everyone of you should die instead" said by the priest

"Is this really the only way?" asks by the saint as she was scared to being killed first, after all she literally got near to zero fighting capability

"This isn't looking good" said by the swordswoman as she pulled out her sword

Seeing everyone in their stance, Gus then hurriedly moved in between all of them as he tried to stop them from killing each other.

"Everybody calm down! Don't let the pressure get to your head! Calm down!"

ON the other hand Shelly together with Lilia and Kaido seemed to have kept their cool, nevertheless both Shelly and Lilia herself are worried for their situation upon seeing eveyrone being wary against each other.

"This is not good!" said Shelly

"If this continues everyone will kill each other, Kaido! What shall we do? we couldn't find any form of exit at all" asks Lilia as she turned her attention towards Kaido who was looking upwards

Upon noticing Kaido's weird stance, she then moved near him as she asked.

"Hey! What's wrong with you? why are you looking up?"

But Kaido himself answered back with one word as his red eyes focused entirely towards the ceiling as if it can see through it.

"... Spider"

Following the direction of his gaze above them, Lilia couldn't help but see nothing at the empty space above the group. But the more she thought about it, a sudden chill then suddenly ran down her spine as she suddenly thought up of an assumption of their whole group in a dangerous situation.

In that moment she shouted at Shelly.

"Shelly!!! the enemies are invisible! throw a mana disruption at the empty space above! quickly!"

Hearing her words, Shelly eyes suddenly constricted into alertness as she quickly sensed danger and hurriedly searched for a mana disruption tool within her system bag, but before she could find it, Kaido suddenly pulled out a Knife on Lilia's knife pocket and threw it towards shelly, causing her to suddenly react and dodge the attack

Naturally such an act was seen by the other members of the group and somehow came to the assumption of an attempted murder.

"What the hell!!!" said by the brawler

"Why did you do that?!?!" shouted by the Saint

"I knew it! hahaha..."

But before the rest could shout out their words, an incredibly fast thrust of an insect leg suddenly came out of nowhere from above and landed at the previous spot where Shelly was located. Upon seeing such an attack. Due to that everyone was then silenced as they saw the insect leg retracting itself from the darkness above, even Shelly herself was stunned speechless upon realizing just how close to death she was. Nevertheless Gus immediately reacted as he follow up Lilia's call.

"Mana disruption! Now!"

Hearing Gus words, Shelly quickly snapped out of her daze as she pulled out a mana disruption from her system space and threw it up into the air.

The moment she threw the mana disruption tool, it then immediately activated the moment it reaches the highest point of altitude and quickly dismantled the presence invisibility spell that was laid in the ceiling above.

When the tool did its job, a huge black spider suddenly appeared on the ceiling which is so big that can easily cover up the whole area above. As if that wasn't the whole place suddenly transformed as the once clean area suddenly turned into a bone chilling area filled with web, dead creature bones and spider eggs all around the vicinity.

Witnessing such a transformation, everyone immediately felt the dread of the situation as they grew fearful of the spider above. Luckily this is where Gus came in to take command.

"Stand your ground! Its just one enemy! as long as we work together we can defeat that thing!"

"Your right! If we can defeat that thing, we will then be able to open the door" said by the brawler

"Lets do this!"

"Yeah!!!"

Hearing their enthusiasm and seeing their morale rising, Gus then to0ok a step forwards as he addressed his plan.

"I'll take its attention... Long rangers, attack the spider using your ranged attacks, close rangers find a way to deal damage unto the spider and get close to it... if you found a way to get close to it, immediately contact the rest of us and disclose the information"

"Roger that! said by everyone except Kaido, Lilia, and Shelly

Under Gus leadership, the person himself then immediately took a step forwards as he activated his guardian skill which completely took aggro of the huge black spider's attention.

"Roar of challenge!!!"

As Gus got its attention, the huge black spider crawled out from its hiding spot for a bit as it thrusted its two sharp limb's towards the guardian below, causing Gus to suddenly smile at the situation as he raised up his shield and cleanly block off the two strikes.

But the huge black spider was relentless as it screeched loudly and drilled his two sharp limbs towards Gus in quick succession, causing the wind around them to suddenly swirl all around due to the speed in which the black spider rapidly drilled its sharp limbs. Of course Gus wouldn't let himself be done in as he implanted his foot on the ground to withstand the attacks and activated another guardian skill to increase his own defenses

"Iron Physique!!!!"

As his toughness increased, the black spider on the ceiling soon found it quite taxing for it to continue its own attack, thus with a quick sudden change of pace, it then sent its right limb to the side and it deliver a below the belt swipe completely blowing off Gus from his feet and crash to the wall of the circular area on the right.

"Urk!"

Naturally Gus sucked in a cold breath from just that one attack as he felt the pain vibrate throughout his whole body as he crashed at the wall on the side.

When Gus got blown away, the the saint of the group quickly ran up to him and casted her spell to heal his wounds

"Holy Heal!"

While he was getting healed, the mage, together with Shelly who quickly took out a bow and the priest of the group then started their own attack towards the spider above.

"Lightning Bolt!!!"

"Wild Arrow!"

"Luminous Impale Storm!"

At the same time Lilia herself joined the attack together with the swordswoman and the brawler as they threw out their respective ranged skills. After all despite being close quarter combat type profession, they can still deal out ranged attacks from a distance.

"Sword wave!"

"Blade Volley!"

"Air Punch!!!"

As explosions rung out from here and there, the huge black spider naturally turned its attention towards the mage of the group as it planned to attack it with its full might, but before he could go and strike the mage down, Gus once more rushed up to the frontline as it quickly took back its attention.

"Roar of Challenge!!!"

With his own taunt skill, Gus was then  able to take the attention of the huge black spider, before he quickly raised up his shield and blocked the incoming limb swing from one of the forefront legs of the huge black spider. However This time Gus was actually prepared for the attack as he activated another of his skill

"Unmovable Mountain!!!"

With a loud clank sound coming from the collision of the spider limb and Gus shield, causing the latter to take a few steps back from the force of the attack. the the female saint then raised up her staff once more and quickly buffed up Gus while replenishing a portion of his stamina.

"Enhance Armor! Enhance Durability! Overgauge!"

Feeling the power and strength coarse through his veins, Gus then smiled at this incredible strength that he was feeling as he swung out his sword to deliver a ranged attack.

"Sword wave!"

While all of the members of the group were happily dealing out damage without any worry because of Gus aggro, Shelly on the other hand couldn't help but frown while throwing out some throwable explosives towards the huge black spider.

"This is not good! We need to get the spider down, or else all of us wouldn't be able to deal enough damage to actually defeat it"

"Your right! As long as its still up there, well be exhausted later on... we need to floor it" added Lilia as she showed concern on her face from evaluating the situation

In that moment her eyes darted towards Kaido's location as she somehow knew that Kaido could do something about this situation. Without any doubts in her words, she then called out.

"Kaido! We need to floor the spider down, can you do it?" asks Lilia

"Why are you asking him? he couldn't possibly floor that huge spider down can he? i mean he is still a rookie right?" asks Shelly

"Don't worry! i know he can do it" assured Lilia

Upon seeing Lilia's assured look without any doubt, Kaido couldn't help but give out an evil grin upon seeing that trusting eyes as he calmly replied.

"I couldn't believe you trust me that much!"

While having his grin plastered on his face, Kaido stretched out his hand unto the air as he instantly enveloped the huge spider with his own psychic ability and forcefully pulled it down to the ground without any effort at all. naturally everyone was shocked from the spider fall as they regarded as Gus successful attempt to pull it down.

"Nice one Gus!"

"Good job leader!"

Gus on the other hand stood dumbfounded.

"I didn't even do anything yet"

As for the people who knew that Kaido was the one to easily pluck the spider down from its height advantage among the webs, both Shelly and Lilia was then shocked from the magnitude of such an act. Since its understandable that Shelly was shocked from this feat, Lilia on the other hand only expected Kaido to simply burn the webs in order to force the huge spider to jump down, thus this feat clearly surprised her too.

"What the heck was that? what did he do?"

"Ha... hahaha... does this mean he simply held back during our fight?"

As this thoughts were in their heads, the huge black spider who was stunned  from suddenly realizing that it fell to the ground then suddenly snapped out of its daze as it tried to climb back up using the walls of the room. However before the huge black spider could even stand up properly, it then suddenly realizes that all of its limb were currently being held down from what seems like an earth mound, clearly Kaido himself was restricting the spiders movement all on his own without any effort.

Sensing that someone among the human's group was capable to restricting its movement, the huge black spider naturally tried to find the perpetrator as it tried to look around, But before it could turn its gaze around, the group then quickly took this opening from the grounded enemy to deliver an all out attack.

"Quick! Its grounded! everyone attack!" shouted by Gus

Following his order, the other members then attacked accordingly.

"Sword dance!!!" called  out by the swordswoman

"Holy cross!!!" casted by the priest

"Stone spear!!!" casted by the mage

"Dragon Fist!!!" called out by the brawler

"Downpour of Karma!!!" casted by the saint

"Huntress Critical strike!!!" called out by Shelly

"Assassinate!!!" called out by Lilia

"Heavy Strike!!!" called out by Gus

As the attacks landed everywhere on the huge black spider's body, the Black spider itself then screeched in pain as it felt its insectoid shell slowly cracking away from the attacks, as it flailed around completely broken free from Kaido's restriction and blowing away the surrounding members.

Following that out of irritation, the Huge black spider then spewed out some web from its mouth, as it caught Gus Shield and rag dolled the person himself all across the room. Hitting the wall, the ground, and other members before getting slammed  right in front of the spider.

With a loud crash, Gus then groaned from the pain of the impact, as he saw the front limb of the spider being thrusted down towards him.

In a bit of luck,  Gus rolled away from the attack as he also got healed when the saint and priest casted out their healing spells for everyone.

Upon sensing that its attack missed, the black spider then screeched loudly once more as it begun to summon a lot of spiderlings from his web above and assaulted the whole group. Upon seeing the situation, Gus then gave out an order for everyone

"Entering phase two! everyone spread out!"
