Hellwalker [Berserk FF]

[Which of you wish to choose first?]

The mechanical system screen appeared before Marick's vision along with the two other human souls next to him.

"I will." He answered in a hurry.

"I choose the Berserk doc." He answered again quickly.

[Option chosen.]

[Good luck, remnant human.] The system replied mechanically, before he was encapsulated in a small white box in order to make his choices and spend the 1,000 CP (Choice points) he had available to him.

Before he disappeared into the box, he managed to catch glimpses of utter horror and panic in the eyes of the two remaining human souls who were next to him.

"I choose the Warhammer Tyranid doc." a second person shouted quickly.

'It seems one of them finally caught on.' Marick thought grimly to himself.

The box closed around him completely and prevented him from hearing the rest of the soul's responses.

In front of him, another system screen formed which would let him make his choices. He navigated through it quickly, focusing specifically on a survivability and adaptability build.

He chose to be human once again. Because anything else didn't feel right.

He chose the Transmigrate Origin of Random for 0CP.

The Perk of [Do As You Will] for the half price of 300CP, gave him an intrinsic ability to be unscryable and unaffected by future predictions.

The Perk of [Keen Eye] for free, letting him have some inherent talent in deduction and inference.

The Perk of [Awe-Inspiring Form] from the Inhuman origin for 100CP. Letting him shape his form to a better design for his future. It was a cheap and easy way to design his body to be large and strong.

The Perk of [Forged By Fire] from the Inhuman origin for the full price of 600 CP, breaking the human limiter. However, the effort to advance beyond the human limit gets exponentially more difficult as he improves.

The Item of [Behelit] gave him a Behelit intended for himself and would always find a way back to him for a discounted 100CP. Who knew if one day he would need it?

Finally, he bought an option for 'standard equipment' with 100 CP of some simple armor, a long sword, pants, a shirt, various clothing, and a thick black cloak to deal with cold winds.

He took a single drawback called [Wanted ] for +200 CP. But this was already his limit. These drawbacks would not be eliminated after a 'jump' ended. He was only using this document run by an automated system to orient himself into a material world. He couldn't and didn't want to test the uncertainty that certain drawbacks would affect him permanently.

Being wanted was manageable, so long as he didn't get caught.

Marick quickly envisioned what his new Inhuman form would look like at the age of 25 and adjusted the details. He envisioned a tall 6'10 man with thick brown hair down to his shoulders. His new body looked imposing and serious, like a goliath ready for war.

He confirmed his choices quickly, as he saw the small timer at the corner of the system screen had run down to less than 30 seconds remaining.

He breathed a sigh of relief that he finished.

Since he had arrived here in the void, the natural corrosion on his soul would have killed him within a few seconds. He didn't know how he or the other two souls had ended up here, but that automated system rescued them within only a few moments of excruciating pain. Any place was better than the void, even a world as terrifying as Berserk. If he refused the offer from this automated system or ran out of time, he was certain that it would just abandon him here.

And he would certainly corrode into nothing the moment it did.

[Choices selected. Lost Soul reentry protocol launched. Good Luck, remnant human.] The system's message appeared and the next moment Marick's vision faded.

The next moment Marick's vision found him, he was standing before gigantic horrendous beings that towered over him. There were 4 of them, sitting on a gigantic pillar-like throne that towered in the sky. All around him, there were demonic creatures and evil things which he could have never dreamed of. And, immediately in front of him, was a young boy strapped to an altar, crying tears of pure terror as unspeakable bugs and things crawled over him.

Confused and disoriented, Marick stumbled forward slightly. His consciousness was muddy and he was in a half-asleep state caused by the merging of this old body's conscience and memories. 

"Finish the sacrifice of your younger brother, and all your dreams of the future will come true." One of the four of the god hand spoke.

Still disoriented, Marick forced himself to look at the young boy in front of him and down at the small dagger in his hands. The boy looked at him terrified and with a look of complete betrayal in his eyes.

"Brother, please... I-" the young boy stammered.

Marick managed to organize his thoughts enough to at least know what was happening around him.

'HOW IS THIS A RANDOM transmigration!' He screamed in his mind.

He had selected a random 'background' for his trip here. He did this in order to get certain discounts from the jump document and the person he would replace would have had their own life up to the point he arrived, replacing them as they died. But somehow, he had ended up replacing this 'Marick' version of himself who had his own 'Behelit' fate, to sacrifice his beloved younger brother in exchange for the power to achieve his dreams. 

But there was one problem, he was now fateless and his body would change soon to match his perks. He can only attempt to follow what the original 'Marick' would have done based on his memories in order to not attract attention from the four in front of me.

Marick stood in silence for a long time, clenching the dagger.

"Marick, do you not want to follow what you've always dreamed of? Why do you hesitate?" One of the god hand commented.

In response, Marick looked up and took a gamble based on the memories in his mind. He held the dagger out in front of him and dropped it to the ground.

*Clang* *Clang*

*Clang*

The air in the surroundings changed as all the unspeakably ugly creatures paused and then began to laugh funnily.

*Hehehe*

*Ho* *Ho*

*Haha Ha*

"Foolish Marick, despite our attempts to change your fate, you still refused our help." One of the god hands commented sadly.

"It's to be expected. It was his fate." Another commented from the side.

"Though, it was a bit different than what I had first predicted." One of the others commented curiously.

"Foolish Marick, the Behelit is a great gift for the fated. And you have wasted it. But yet a sacrifice must still be accepted and since you will not provide the one you love, it will be you." A godhand member spoke solemnly.

*Crack* *Crack*

A crevice appeared underneath Marick's body and arms of countless grotesque creatures began to pull him down into it.

"Agh! I- NO!" Marick screamed as the monstrous creatures in the pits of astral hell began tearing bites out of his body as he passed through them.

"Goodbye, foolish Marick." The god hand member waved pathetically to him before the fissure closed above him.
