The Battle Of Gods (III)

Oh this was bad. This was very very very bad. I gulped, holding my bat like it would somehow save me from whatever it was I was about to be put through. Watching patiently, I waited for him to make some kind of move. Did he not know where I was? No, that shouldn't matter. He can move through the shit he manipulates, that much was clear. So, did he wanna toy with me first? If that was the case, could I hold out until Mika finished the other part of the plan? Doubt started springing to my mind. I didn't really have a choice. I just had to hold out, just for a little bit. It couldn't possibly take too long for a god to reattach a leg. Finally released from my own thoughts, I noticed that he'd been staring right at me once again. I bit my lip. My eyes moved down to his hands. Subtly, one of his fingers made an up motion. I moved in time to dodge a spike of granite coming up from the ground, just to get kicked in the face and roll into the wall.

"Well, maybe I was too hasty thinking you were clever. You really are just an idiot, aren't you? I guess I could have assumed that when you just ate up everything I told you in your kitchen. You're quite the stupid fuck, huh?! Ahahaha!" He tried to kick me again, but I forced myself to move out of the way, aiming to crack my bat against his head again, and I did, making a satisfying sound. "GAH, YOU LITTLE SHIT, I'M GONNA SHOVE THAT FUCKING BAT UP YOUR ASS!" With his enraged scream, I could feel that his desire to play with me had dissipated, leaving me only one choice. I had to keep up the attack, or else he'd actually manage to crush me in here. I could feel the ground under me shaking as the walls started moving. I move to hit him in the knee, canceling his move as he falls over. With the opening I move to slam my bat into his arm.

It was then that I felt something slam up the inside of my leg. He'd summoned a spike to flow into my leg, though he probably meant it to go somewhere else. I bit my tongue to fight the excruciating pain as I slammed my bat against the left side of his face, causing a couple teeth to fall out. It hurt, it hurt a god damn lot, but I still refused to let myself die here. Mika was relying on me. Mika, Mika, I won't die here! I WON'T DIE BEFORE I KISS THAT GIRL WITH THE HOT THIGHS! The deranged state of my thoughts seemed to alleviate my pain as I began going to town on him, not giving him a second to think. If my bat arm was too slow, I'd knee him then smack him with the bat. It went on and on like this until the walls around us finally fell, and, with excruciating pain, I pulled my leg off the granite spike and rolled away from Sweatpants.

My bleeding, mutilated leg screamed with pain as I did my best to focus on getting up. With the help of a streetlamp I was back up, watching Sweatpants as he stood up, blood pouring from his mouth.

"Heh…hehehe…hehehehehe-" He kept on laughing as he raised his face. "You…are vicious. Perhaps you're worth my while after all." Sweatpants raised his arms at his sides. "Marcus, I, Joshua Vicors, god of the atomic design, challenge you! Come and inscribe your name on my soul, you fucking animal!" He laughed, his words echoing out into the world. My leg kept me from moving too much. Shit, Mika, how much longer are you gonna take?! He was too far away for me to attack, and I could hardly move. If he pulled something tricky I was done for. "WELL?! WHERE ARE YOU?! I GIVE YOU A CHALLENGE AND YOU DISRESPECT ME?!" He placed both his hands on the ground and I watched, in terror, as he caused the road we were both standing on to become a granite sinkhole. I grabbed tight to the building I was next to, doing my best not to get dragged in as he laughed on and on like a true bastard.

Oh god, I was really gonna die. No…no, I refused to even think like that. I thought desperately for anything I could do. I desperately flipped myself around, grabbing onto the doorframe of the house I was holding onto for dear life, and began attempting a shimmy over to the other road not caught in the sinkhole. I made my way almost halfway from the doorframe to my destination when I felt what my hands were touching melting and swimming away, the whole area becoming further engulfed by this man's sinkhole. I felt my body slide in, unwillingly beginning my tumble towards a death of violent suffocation. My eyes focus on the spot in the very middle, surrounded by the circle of granite falling into the earth. The circle he was on. As long as I could get to him, I could stop this. I just have to…somehow.

With a nervous energy, I begin working my one leg so it's ready for kick off when the moment comes while I attempt to maneuver myself into a better position for launch. My hands dug into the tornadoing gravel, getting cut up but keeping my position stable. I watched him, slowly growing closer and closer. Closer…closer…now! With my one well working leg I leapt over the circle of granite and, with the force of a mighty angel, slammed my bat so hard into the back of his head I could hear a piece of his skull shatter. The sinkhole gradually rebuilt itself into the road and sidewalk as me and the currently passed out sweatpants rose back up to street level. I felt my heart beating hard in my chest as I laid down on my back, looking up at the sky.

I heard a voice. Sitting up, I saw Mika, my Professor just behind her. I tried and failed to get back up. I really had fucked up my leg with that spike earlier, huh? Thank god the pain was still numbed from the adrenaline. With a breath, I smiled. "Things went right to plan, huh?" I spoke with the utmost sarcasm when…something felt off. I tried to move my lips, but it was like everything had become immovable. Imperceivable. I tried to breathe. I couldn't. My sight, focused on Mika and her expression of growing horror, was turning sideways and…moving downwards.

I noticed at that moment the granite sword that had risen from the ground, just in my periphery.

My head hit the ground, and I saw the face of Joshua. A face of pure contentment.

"Thanks for the fight. I'll be sure to remember you, invisible one."
