Sinopse

*This novel has been dropped Zeph has been a worker at a haunted house for 8 years now. One day, Zeph was hiding in his usual hiding spot where he would jump out and spook people. As he heard steps coming towards him, he got ready to jump out with his scary clown mask and fake chainsaw, but something made him hesitate. The appearance of the approaching group was really sketchy. With scars and tattoos covering every inch of their body, they were obviously not normal people. 'Well, what's the worst that can happen?' Nevertheless, he decided to jump out and scare the gangsters, but this was a decision he would come to regret. After he jumped out of his corner, a tragic incident followed and Zeph found himself in an unknown field surrounded by a lush forest. He was missing his physical body, but could still see, smell and hear. He thought that this was the afterlife and he could finally rest for all eternity, until something rudely interrupted him. [Ghost God System Installation 100%] 'W-what? Ghost God?' [The host can grow stronger by making other organisms feel fear] This is where the story of Zeph, the new God of Ghosts, begins. ------------------------------------------- Author Note: This is my first time writing a novel, so don't expect a masterpiece.. Ghost God System is meant to be practice for me to improve my writing skills, so constructive criticism is heavily appreciated. Chapter Length: ∼1500 Words Update Schedule: Don't expect consistent updates. Like I said, this book is just practice for me to improve my writing skills and could be dropped at any moment. Regardless of all that. I still hope you enjoy reading this little side project of mine. ------------------------------------------- Cover Art made by Nora Potwora, @norapotwora. -------------------------------------------

Till I Breathe My Last

My name is Morgan Nocte, Captain of the Luna Deia, an Incendia Class single crew Battleship with a fully sentient, super-intelligent A.I. named Artemis. She is the first and most likely last of her kind. Together we serve in the Imperial Terran Navy as a role-model pairing for the peoples of the Terran Empire. However, this is not as glorious as it seems, for the Empire angered a foe far more powerful than we dared imagine. The Orthane. A race similar in many ways to the goblins of myth, mixed with ants, a bloodthirsty, extremely warlike,, yet oddly honorable race. They stand at roughly 2.3 meters for their basic warriors, 2.6 meters for their captains, and oddly enough 1.75 meters for their generals. Do not be fooled however, an Orthanian general is capable of taking a direct hit from a 35mm armor-piercing fletchette rifle at nearly point-blank range and laughing while moving nearly Mach 2 with unenhanced armor. Now, the reason I say oddly honorable, is that the Orthane despite being one of the most prolific species, as well as one of the more powerful in our part of the galaxy did not attack us as they do not attack those weaker than themselves, we in our ignorance attacked a lesser colony of theirs and so have wrought our doom upon ourselves. The reason for this is the Orthane believe in honorable combat and will gladly kill each other all day long, unless they are angered that is. The Empire, believing the colony to be the only one of its kind ordered an overwhelming attack that wiped the Orthane off the face of a planet we deemed should belong to us. In our hubris, we touched upon the ultimate Orthanian taboo, the murder of a Youngling Queen. To the Orthane, death in battle is the most glorious and sought after end. However that end is meant only for those capable of bearing arms, not the young and weak, nor the old and infirm. To kill royalty is fine, as long as they bore weapons and fought. To kill a Youngling Queen that was not capable of fighting, only speech because, as she stated "as long as I live the fight can continue". A standard Orthanian greeting to a powerful foe given by all Orthanian Royalty when their forces have been defeated. It is also a warning. A warning that was ignored by the Commanding Officer of the breaching team when he blew her head off. The scene was transmitted to the Orthanian homeworld instantly, and our destruction was set in stone. Friday, April 13th, 8:59 PM 3462 638 P.D. the time and date the Youngling Queen was killed, a mere 4 months, 8 days, 16 hours and 21 minutes ago. In this short period of time, over 140 billion soldiers and countless civilians have been killed while more than 150 planets and countless ships have been destroyed. All that remains of the once mighty Empire is Sol, our birthplace, 40 decrepit ships more than 100 years old and the Luna Deia. This is my story, one full of strange turns, battle, and an adventure I want to share. Once again, My Name is Morgan Nocte, Captain of the Luna Deia, and I will fight for humanity Till I Breathe My Last

The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgeral

The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, near New York City, the novel depicts first-person narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby's obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan. The novel was inspired by a youthful romance Fitzgerald had with socialite Ginevra King, and the riotous parties he attended on Long Island's North Shore in 1922. Following a move to the French Riviera, Fitzgerald completed a rough draft of the novel in 1924. He submitted it to editor Maxwell Perkins, who persuaded Fitzgerald to revise the work over the following winter. After making revisions, Fitzgerald was satisfied with the text, but remained ambivalent about the book's title and considered several alternatives. Painter Francis Cugat's cover art greatly impressed Fitzgerald, and he incorporated aspects of it into the novel. After its publication by Scribner's in April 1925, The Great Gatsby received generally favorable reviews, though some literary critics believed it did not equal Fitzgerald's previous efforts. Compared to his earlier novels, Gatsby was a commercial disappointment, selling fewer than 20,000 copies by October, and Fitzgerald's hopes of a monetary windfall from the novel were unrealized. When the author died in 1940, he believed himself to be a failure and his work forgotten. During World War II, the novel experienced an abrupt surge in popularity when the Council on Books in Wartime distributed free copies to American soldiers serving overseas. This new-found popularity launched a critical and scholarly re-examination, and the work soon became a core part of most American high school curricula and a part of American popular culture. Numerous stage and film adaptations followed in the subsequent decades. Gatsby continues to attract popular and scholarly attention. Contemporary scholars emphasize the novel's treatment of social class, inherited versus self-made wealth, gender, race, and environmentalism, and its cynical attitude towards the American Dream. One persistent item of criticism is an allegation of antisemitic stereotyping. The Great Gatsby is widely considered to be a literary masterwork and a contender for the title of the Great American Novel.
