Last were the items. The 2 energy crystals took up the most amount of space and were orange and purple in colour with energy swirling and moving inside. Now that he brought them out, they seemed to be hissing and hussing under the sky. Kyle straight away got the notifications to absorb the power through the system, but he now had a new memory part from Seng Lin.
It demonstrated that any beast core could be used to aid in building up a richer qi and rare cores would let one enhance their understanding of the attributes that beast was most profound in controlling.
As beasts were always living in the forests and in nature, their affinity with the elements was much closer. They were already born inside nature, and there was no white noise that put them astray. After the first day in the world, they slowly, but swiftly start building up their knowledge of the element. That is why beast cores of old and strong beasts could be used to improve the understanding of elements.
Also, the element itself could differ from a beast to the beast. There was a common pattern in the species, but lucky encounters happened to any being in the world of Game. Humans, elves, and dwarfs could get lucky and stumble upon treasure or legacy, but the same was true for the beasts. Some of them stumbled upon the treasure that would let them change or improve their affinity and so they would grow stronger and mutate away from the original species. That is how white snow wolfs, and poison lizards appeared. Their ancestor was a lucky beast that changed their element.
Kyle started with the purple crystal. He began to rotate his qi to try fully enveloping the crystal. This was the basic need in order to get insights from the core. If ones qi was not enough to fully envelop, or maybe one didn't have such a high control of their own qi, they wouldn't be able to achieve this.
As the last of qi closed up the beast core, Kyle felt extremely cold and sinister. As if someone was watching from behind him ready to assault him. As it turned out, this was coming from the beast core itself. The element that was inside was s shadow element—a direct descendant of the chaos, the original element of everything.
The shadow element was not very close to Kyle's heart as he was much more straightforward with high affinity to light element. This meant that the benefit that Kyle would get would be limited. Even still, understanding the basics and touching upon the concept was harmless and could enrich Kyles knowledge and broaden his horizon.
The beast core was telling him to become one with the shadow and blend into the world, but Kyle couldn't really understand how to do that. The idea was too far. After a brief moment, the beast core lost it's dark colour and became transparent. It then dropped on the ground empty.
Next was the ogre crystal. It was orange in power and could be of any element. In reality, Kyle was very disappointed. It was less the insights into the elements and more into the world. There was some general information about what ogre felt of nature.
The only thing relevant and interesting is that ogre considered everything to have a soul. Every single small grass and even a tree or a rock would have a soul. That was because inside that autumn forest, deep inside lived a race of treants, or in other words, living trees. They were ancient and extremely powerful.
Ogre stumbled upon them when going on a frenzy chasing a prey. He found a tree that was speaking and alive and was nearly killed for damaging other trees. That is how ogre understood that everything was placed in the world for a reason.
Kyle lost his connection to this crystal, and it dropped to the ground, also empty.
"Well, this was lacklustre. Two huge crystals and I barely got anything. I hoped that this orange crystal would have lighting insights. I really wish I could practice my Lightning Step…" Kyle was pondering on what he just learnt.
World of Game was fair to everything. Any object could become stronger. Just as beasts and humans were able to grow, trees and rocks were able to cultivate and grow as well. For them, it was of course, harder as when they are born, they would be extremely weak and susceptible to the influences from the outside. Their bodies couldn't even let them retaliate. This though, didn't mean that they didn't feel or think of anything. They simply couldn't show that.
After understanding this, Kyle felt bad for the trees he knocked down or cut while practising the Wave of Conviction technique, 'If an ogre got chased away by one of those trees, I wonder how powerful they actually are…'
Finally, Kyle was ready to see what those two beasts have dropped. There were around 100 remains from each of the beast. But by the system, they got reduced to 2 items.
The first item was a belt that was made out of bones and was radiating an orange glow. As soon as Kyle held it in his hand, he could feel some energy rush through him. It was the same orange energy that ogre had, and it strengthened his muscles, making him stronger. Kyle could feel that his already strong power, nearly doubled due to this belt.
The second item was a small tooth, the size of a needle. It was white in colour, but the end of it was black, and something green was constantly dripping from it. The effect stopped inside the storage space, but once Kyle took it out, it started dripping to the ground.
Kyle, at first, couldn't understand what it was. But once the tent under the liquid started melting Kyle rushed to put it into some random box he found and back into the storage. It was too dangerous to hold on. 'It is a poison relic that would constantly generate poison. Even though I have no use for it, it gotta sell really good once I get to a merchant guild.' Kyle thought to himself.
'This harvest was amazing, to say the least, now it is time to move out into the forest!'
