Chapter 54

Naruto, Kara, and Sara told Team Flash about the Crisis before Kara and Sara left as Naruto was standing on the roof when Iris walked up, "Lost him again Iris. I was right there but I couldn't do a damn thing to save him."

Iris placed a hand on his back as he sighed, "Barry was a hero. He did what he did because he knew you will still be around to stop the crisis. I know it doesn't make it any easier but you have to stay strong and keep moving forward.'

Naruto and Iris hugged each other tightly before they kissed and hugged, in a flicker of lightning Iris found herself in the room her and Naruto naked and him atop of her

Iris turned them over so she was atop of Naruto and gripped his member and sunk down onto him causing the two to groan before Naruto sat up and dragged them back to the headboard where he leaned back against and gripped Iris' ass while she began to ride him

"Any idea who our bold thieves might be?" Singh asked Naruto who was looking around

"Not yet. I'll make my rounds. But whoever did this either planned it out or is a meta. You should probably check to see if anyone with a grudge has been released from prison or is back in town.'

" Good idea." Singh said walking off

"Okay, I'll go and look, "

"Vanessa Jensen." Naruto said, causing Linda and Nora to look at him,"We were starting on this case before the Crisis."

"Did you find her hideout?"

"Lets go." Naruto said before in a flash 3 clones appeared with 2 of them looking like Linda and Nora before the three sped off,

As Flash, and XS ran with Lady Flash, it took a moment for Flash to notice Lady Flash was different, instead of a streak of white light energy trailing her it was speedster lightning

"You're a speedster?!" Naruto asked

"Yea. Was I not one before?" Linda asked

"No. You were Photokinetic. You could run at fast speeds but your powers were light based." Naruto said before his coms went live,

"Guys we have a situation." Cisco said

"What situation?" Naruto asked

"We got a Archives asset in Kolins Woods." Cisco said

"Archives?" Nora asked

"Yea, it's a place where we house everything Flash related... Prototypes, super suits...I mean, everything since day one." Cisco said

"Okay, and the alarm is going off because?" Naruto asked as they appeared at a warehouse,

"Because somebody just stole something from us." Cisco said as they skidded to a stop

"XS, Lady Flash go check it out, Cisco get here we will handle Jensen." Flash said

"Roger." Cisco said

"Okay." Lady Flash said before she tapped XS shoulder and they ran with XS looking back to Flash as Vibe appeared in a breach

"Is dad okay?" Nora asked worried

"He's been through a lot. He just needs to get his feet back beneath him." Linda said

Flash helped Vibe who stumbled, "That felt different." He said

"How so?" Flash asked

"Usually when I open a breach I can sense all others like me but this time it felt so empty." Cisco said

"The multiverse is gone. Makes sense your powers would be affected by that." Flash said

"But by how much?" Vibe asked

"Do you want to go to Caitlin and find out?" Naruto asked

"It would be best, without knowing how affected my powers are with the crisis, I'll be a liability."

Flash nodded before he and Vibe fist bumped and Vibe strained to open another breech big enough for him to jump through

Flash sighed, "Earth Prime is really kicking my ass." He said before he walked into the warehouse before his eyes narrowed when he sensed someone dying, and quickly he shot forward but stumbled as his speed was gone

Looking at his arms as lightning flickered before going out, Flash looked to the man in a cloak who pulled his lightning shaped dagger, Naruto blurred forward

The cloaked man turned into Naruto's fist sending him to the ground before Naruto kicked him in the torso sending him back

Ignoring the weird breathing, Flash knelt beside Vanessa to see her give her last breath, Flash growled and turned to the masked man that got to his feet and glared at him,

"You're going to pay for that.' Flash said walking forward before he ducked when the man tossed his dagger at him and shot forward with a shoulder tackle, the man on his back saw Flash about to stomp on his face and recalled his dagger but Flash turned around to dodge it and stepped back when the man tried to stab him in the foot before he kicked him in the face,

Flash watched as the masked man got up before with a yell the man began to swing his dagger at him,

Leaning to the left, and ducking anofher swing Flash punched the man in the ribs and leaned back up from a knee before he punched the man in the gut and then the chin and spun with a elbow that knocked the man to the ground

Flash was about to grab the man when he felt his body freeze, looking to his peripheral, he saw another cloaked figure with two kukri knives,

Naruto tried to move but found it impossible, as the new cloaked figure hit him with her knives but they didn't cut his suit, causing the figure to look at him, as he slowly began to move and quickly the figure grabbed the unconscious man and flew off with him and Naruto suddenly found himself with his speed and quickly ran in a 50 mile radius and grunted when he didn't find them,

Later, Maelstrom Labs

Naruto raised an eyebrow at his building of what was now called Maelstrom Labs, shaking his head he walked in toward the Speed Lab

"So Kara and I are on the same planet now. Dating apparently. Everyone here knows me as Naruto instead of Nathan now, and according to Sara, Oliver doesn't remember the Crisis. Speaking of, what's going on with Nora's situation."

Stepping off the elevator Naruto frowned when he saw everyone standing around two Time Spheres, "Please tell me that doesn't belong to who I think it does?'

"No. It's not Thawne's." Cisco said, handing Naruto a tablet, "It belongs to us but it was used by her.' Naruto raised an eyebrow at the blonde woman, sitting in the time sphere and looked at Cisco, "I may have installed some hidden cameras when we made it."

Shaking his head Naruto walked to a desk, "Judging by what she's wearing she's the one that helped the killer of Vanessa Jensen."

Naruto played the footage his mask recorded and the speed lab was overlapped with a 3D image of the warehouse and they watched the fight and how the woman saved the man, "That sound he made." Nora said wide eyed

"Yea, like a Darth Vader knockoff.' Cisco said

'Sounded like an insect." Caitlin added

"Like Cicada." Nora said looking to Naruto who looked at her

"Whose Cicada?" Naruto asked

Nora looked at her father, "As a kid there was a part of the Flash Museum that always scared me. I guess it's normal for children to be afraid of monsters. But this monster was different. No one knows where he came from, how he got his powers, who he is. All that's known is his alias, and the last sound his victim hears. But that's not what makes him scary. What makes him scary is you never catch him."

"We never catch him?" Caitlin asked

"Supergirl, even The League tried, but no one was successful." Nora said

"Probably 'cause he can dampen everybody's powers with that magic friggin' dagger." Cisco replied

"Not all superpowers are meta-humans though. What about -"

"Batman and Green Arrow? Yeah, they tried too once, but-" Nora trailed off as she shook her head

"We're dealing with a meta-human Jack the Ripper, with a partner. Great." Cisco sighed

"What else do you know about him?" Naruto asked with a raised eyebrow

"Just that he's early." Nora said

"What do you mean he's early?" Iris asked

"In my history, Cicada's first victim was a meta-human named Floyd Belkin. And he never killed Gridlock or Block. They're completely different victims. And you had already vanished by the time he appeared." Nora said to Naruto

"Space and time as a whole has been changed. Okay, there's no telling the ripple effect of this change or what kind of future Nora's gonna return to. We gotta catch these two fast."

"You mean catch the guy that the future us can't catch?"

"And his future sidekick." Naruto nodded before he looked at Nora, "Lets go."

Morning

Iris was in the kitchen cooking breakfast or trying to, she burnt the toast, and tried and failed to make lightning shaped pancakes as they turned out lumpy and she quickly ran to the stove as the eggs began to burn

Nora stumbled in rubbing the sleep from her eyes and saw this with Naruto who was doing the same

"What are you doing?" Nora asked

"Uh," Iris turned to the two with the same sleepy expressions as they yawned while scratching their bellies, "Good morning. Um, I, um, was thinking that we could have breakfast together. Right? Like a family." Iris said watching as they titled their head in confusion

"Come on." Iris smiled leading them to the table

Naruto sat down and poured himself some tea while Nora got some coffee,

"Okay. What do we have here?" Naruto asked looking at the plate while Nora was taking pictures of the food,

"Well, these are pancakes, as you can see, but I made them into little lightning bolts. Well, the batter kind of got away from me, but you see the little zigzag."

"No, no, no. Yeah, yeah. I totally see it, yeah. Yeah." Naruto smiled

"What are-what are you doing?" Iris asked Nora

"Uh, I am just getting evidence that you make lumpy pancakes in every time period." Nora said

"Let's try it out." Naruto bit into a piece of his pancake and a crunching sound was heard and he looked at Iris, "I'll make everyone something."

"You don't like it?" Iris asked

"Iris, you've never cooked a day in your life. I'm proud of the confidence you had to try though." Naruto said kissing her chastely before in a blitz of speed the table was cleared and instantly a full on spread was on the table with Naruto back at the head of the table this time with Dash in his arms as the baby squealed clapping his hands

Caitlin and the others began to file in causing Naruto to smile, "Morning." He greeted as he handed Dash his bottle and the babe began to guzzle down the milk

Kissing his sons scalp, Naruto watched as everyone chatted and ate with a small smile

Moment's Later

Iris was washing the dishes when Naruto hugged her from behind, "What's wrong?"

'Nothing." Iris answered

'Lying to an empath. Not your greatest look.' Naruto said turning Iris to face him and he asked again, "What's wrong?"

'You know, I thought having her here, we would finally have a chance to connect, but it's like every time we take a half-step forward, we end up taking six steps back."

"Stop trying so hard Iris. She's our daughter.'

'Who only wants to spend time with you. Why didn't you tell me you got her a phone."

"I didn't know that I needed to." Naruto raised an eyebrow, "Nora is here because I'm gone in her time."

'I know and she wants to spend time with you.'

"Then you need to use this time with her to show her who you really are. She only knows you when you're grieving."

'She looks at me, she doesn't see me now in front of her. She'll never come around to me."

"I can't force her to accept you. I can tell her to give you a chance and when she extends the olive branch you have to take it. If she hated you, she wouldn't even be in this house with us." Naruto kissed Iris' cheek, "Give it time."

Iris watched as Naruto left and sighed

Uzumaki Labs

The team was in the cortex with Cisco in front of a white board, "Okay, Cicada from our timeline. He's our way to finding out who his sidekick is. With that being said what do we need to know."

"How did he become a meta-human?"

"How does his powers work and how important is that dagger."

"What's his beef with metahumans."

"The function of his mask besides concealing his identity. That haggard breathing could be the result of an injury." Caitlin said

Naruto got a call causing him to raise an eyebrow, "Hello."

"Allen, where are you?" Singh asked

"I'm at work."

"Today is the softball game, and we need our pitcher."

'Um, I just thought that wit-"

'Your still on the payroll. Get down the field."

'Alright. Could blow off some steam anyway." Naruto said, hanging up and looking at his family, "Want to go to a softball game?"

20 Minutes Later

Naruto dressed in CCPD softball gear approached the mound,

Cecile, Caitlin, Nora and Iris watched as Naruto striked out everyone who stepped up to the plate and even scored a homerun

Wow, dad is an amazing athlete." Nora smiled taking pictures of Naruto before opened a new app

"Yea even without using his more exotic talents." Cecile said

Nora's phone vibrated, getting everyone's attention, "Hey, what is that, Nora?"

"There is this really great app called Spyn Zone. The push notifications let you know the second anything happens in the city." Nora explained showing Caitlin the app

"Like Iris' Website?" Caitlin asked

"Uh, yeah, kind of. It's just a lot more up to date than that, and it's, like It's really cool. This girl's, like, really in the know." Nora said showing Caitlin a picture of the creator while Iris looked over

"Oh. Yeah, Spencer Young. I know her." Iris said, causing the two to look at her, "Yeah, I see her all the time working on her laptop at Jitters. She actually was a junior reporter at CCPN when I worked there, but she didn't last very long."

"Why not?" Caitlin asked as Nora went back to look at Naruto hit another home run

"Well, she wanted to be famous and make a name for herself, but she didn't care how it happened."

"Well, I think she's cute." Nora smiled looking at the picture

"Yeah, I mean, she may be cute, but she's never fact-checked a thing a day in her life." Iris said before Nora shrugged

"She's doing something right She has three times as many followers on her app as you do on your blogs, so I'm going to get something to eat." Nora said getting up and walking off as Iris frowned

Nora walked continued to watch her phone when she paused and a glazed look appeared on her face as her eyes glowed purple and she walked off

Cecile was clapping when she froze and began to look around, "Cecile? What's wrong?"

"Something's not right. Something's not right"

Naruto was about to toss a fastball when everyone noted a man walking on the field, "Is that Jonesy?" He asked before everyone watched him raise a detonator and their eyes widened

' Hey, somebody stop him!" Cecile screamed

Naruto was about to make a move when Nora sped in and grabbed the backpack after Jonesy pushed the button and tossed the backpack i to the air when it exploded

Jonesy looked around when Naruto and some of the officers tackled him to the ground, Naruto helped the cops subdue Jonesy before he walked to XS as she looked around confused, "Hey, hey! Nora, hey."

"Huh? What? What happened?"

Naruto smiled, "You just saved everybody."

15 minutes Later

Everyone was in the parking lot when Naruto walked over, "Bomb squad finished their sweep. They said it's all clear."

"Okay. Nora, how did you know what was happening?" Iris asked

"I don't know. One minute I was going to get food, and the next I was in the outfield with Dad." Nora said as Naruto frowned

"And you don't remember anything else?" Caitlin asked getting a negative from Nora before he phone buzzed

"What's that?" Naruto asked

"A notification from Spyn Zone." Nora said showing Naruto her phone and he frowned seeing it was an article about XS saving the park

"Already? That was fast." Iris said

"Look into who is behind this app, we may have another Kilgore on our hands. Nora lets go." Naruto said walking onto the field with Nora to canvass the area

"Iris, if Cicada sees that post…." Caitlin trailed off

'Yeah, he may pick Nora as his next target. In preparation to go after Naruto.' Iris frowned

Later, Uzumaki Labs

Naruto watched as Nora tried to perform the Rasengan while he idly thought about Jonesy who said he remembered nothing just like Nora, with a frown he looked up as Gideon spoke

"Fire at CCPN.'

"Let's go.' Naruto said before he and Nora sped out to the scene, and into the building before getting everyone out

A woman with her phone was recording the two as they stood outside, "Okay, the building's already been evacuated. Fire trucks are on their way. All, we have to do is get inside and put the fire out."

'I've never done this before." Nora said

"Come on. Seriously, move!" The woman hissed as Naruto who heard this ignored her and focused on Nora

"That's okay. We're just going to create a vacuum."

"Fine." The woman Spencer began to type on her phone and swiped it before the screen outfront reported the Flash in Vegas, "I will make you move. Enjoy this news, Flash."

"All right, I'll walk you through it. Once we're inside." Flash said before he turned and saw the screen and his eyes glowed purple before his RinneSharingan appeared and with a shake of his head they sped into the building

Spencer watched shocked as Flash ignored her hypnotism as the fire was out out and two streaks of lightning left the building causing her to curse

Hour Later

Naruto sat playing with Dash when Caitlin, Iris and Nora walked in, "Gideon reported a spike in your brain activity. What happened?"

'Someone tried to mind control me.' Naruto said picking up Dash and sitting him on his lap,

"Who?" Nora asked

"Spencer Young. I heard her while we were talking and preparing to go into CCPN. I looked at a report of Flash being Spotted in Vegas and next thing I know I'm about to run to Vegas, luckily mental attacks don't work on me anymore.' Naruto said looking down to Dash, "Ain't that right, little man."

Dash babbled clapping his hands causing everyone to smile,

"Why would Spencer do this?"

"Publicity. Spencer Young wants to get famous by making you famous." Iris said causing Nora and Naruto to raise an eyebrow

"You don't know that." Nora said

"She admitted it when we talked. Check this out." Iris said turning on the television where a report of the fire was reported. "Look at the timestamp on the post."

"7:52 p.m? I guess you'll always be the first one to the scoop if you're the one making it." Iris said

"Circumstantial at best we need proof. Before he slap meta cuffs on the girl." Naruto said looking to Nora, "We need to figure out if Spencer's responsible for this. Can you keep your feelings in check while we do this?"

"Feelings, what feelings?" Nora asked blushing

Naruto smiled at her

2 Hours Later

Naruto was dozing off as he sat in the company van, while Nora was inside Jitters, with Harry's meta-watch, "This is so boring.' He said with a groan

"It's not that bad."

'Yes it is. We need to be looking for Cicada with Linda and Cisco not here waiting f-.' Naruto

"I see her." Nora interrupted Naruto

'Finally.' Naruto sighed

"All you need to do is get within five feet of her, hit the button, in and out."

'I know!" Nora snapped

"You see what I mean? Half-step forward, six steps back?"

"I mean, you've been saying that for the last hour and a half." Naruto said

Jitters

Nora was walking up to Spencer and heard her talking to the cashier, "Thank you. You should totally name one of your drinks after that new female speedster, XS." Spencer said before she turned and nearly bumped into Nora

"Whoa."

"Sorry." Spencer gasped, "I didn't splash you did I?"

'No I'm okay, Spencer."

"Do I know you?" Spencer asked.

"No, you don't know me. But I know you." Nora smiled checking the watch and seeing no activity, "You're Spencer Young. I read all your stuff on Spyn Zone. It's a really good app. It's fantastic stories and really good writing. I'm a really big fan. I'm Nora."

"I always enjoy meeting a fan." Spencer smiled checking Nora out, "Especially when they're as adorable as you."

Naruto raised an eyebrow before he looked up to see Iris leaving and he shook his head, "That won't end well." Watching the cameras as Iris approached Nora who was talking to Spencer before Spencer left and he shrugged

Time stopped and Naruto got out the van before he walked to Spencer and took her phone from her pocket, looking through it he frowned seeing nothing incriminating on it before he found a half written chapter of Flash dying in an explosion and Nora taking his place

Naruto glared at Spencer, and accidently cracked the screen of her phone causing his eyes to widen, "Oops." He said before he watched surprise as the cracks repaired themselves, "What the hell?"

Naruto examined the phone and took off the back to see it glowing before with a smirk walked off with her phone allowing time to restart,

Spencer left without her phone as Naruto headed toward Jitters

Inside

Iris looked at her daughter after Spencer left, "Nora look, I don't care that you think she's cute. She's dangerous, okay? You need to stay away from her. She could be dangerous. Nora, I am trying to protect you here."

"Has that been your thing my whole life?" Nora scoffed as Naruto entered and stayed back seeing the two standing across from each other

"What does that even mean, honestly?" Iris asked stopping Nora from walking away, "I mean, is that why you've been so cold to me, why you don't want to spend any time with me? I'm just trying to get to know you."

' Just drop it." Nora said frowning

"Nora, I don't under-"

"Look, you lied to me!" Nora yelled

The people in Jitters looked up before Naruto walked up, "Hey, let's continue this some place more private." He said

Later, Uzumaki Labs, Cortex

Naruto sat down as Nora and Iris stood across from each other, "Nora, I would never lie to you." Iris said

"Yeah? What do you call that?" Nora pulled her short down revealing a scar beneath her collarbone

You put a power-dampening chip inside me to take away my speed. And until six months ago, I didn't even know I had powers. My whole life has been a lie because you have been trying to protect me. You've kept everything that had to do with dad from me so if that's your protection, I don't want it." Nora said before she sped off leaving Iris shocked and horrified

Naruto frowned and Iris looked at him with tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry. I don't know how I could do something like that to her, Naruto."

Naruto sped around the table and hugged Iris, "It's okay, Iris. You didn't do anything to her. You can't blame yourself for something future-you might do.

"Yes, I can, and it's not a might. I suppressed our daughter's powers, and kept her from learning anything about you. I kept a huge part of who she was a secret for her entire life. I did that."

Naruto frowned

"What if my dad did something like that to you after the particle accelerator exploded?"

"I wouldn't be able to forgive him. I still haven't forgiven Jiraiya or Sarutobi for that matter, but that's a conversation to be had with your future self not you now. We will figure this out." Naruto said holding Iris as she began to sob
