02. A Conspiracy?

He was lost in wonder for a moment. 'A game system?' 'How do I even access these things? Skills?'

As if responding to his thoughts, the Skill section expanded bringing out the description for the two skills.

SKILLS

-Quantum Tunneling Lv.1 [1SP to level up]

 Desc: User is able to vibrate their molecules at extreme frequency and intensity. Can also be transferred to Objects.

-Regeneration Lv.1 [1SP to level up]

 Desc: Increased tissue and cellular repair.

'Woah'

'So, I'm guessing this is some sort of level up system where more aspects of the system is unlocked with time. Alright then…'

"Barry Allen" The voice of Dr. Wells brought him back to reality "How do you feel right now?"

"Good. I feel… very good" he responded lightly stretching his body on the bed.

"You've been in a coma, Barry" Wells explained, his voice filled with a mix of sympathy and excitement, more of the latter of course. "You've awakened with abilities beyond our understanding. Have you noticed that yet?"

Barry placed his hand in front of himself and started moving it side to side, the motion sped up in a ramp until only a blur could be seen. "This?"

Cisco backed up about three steps, "Whooaa, What?"

Dr. Wells nodded, a knowing smile playing on his lips.

"You have the gift of superhuman speed, Barry. You are now a speedster, and it's not a weapon. It's a gift that can be used to protect the city from threats beyond imagination."

'Ah Jeez! Reminds me of those unskippable youtube ads.'

"Follow me" Wells said as he slowly wheeled himself out.

Barry stood up and found that the only thing he had on was a trouser.

"Here" Cisco handed out a sweatshirt. "Yeah, thanks. He put it on and went after Wells. Catching up to him, he patiently waited for Wells to 'continue the unskippable ads.'

Wells entered a room and Barry followed. "You see…when the particle accelerator exploded, dark matter was released into city creating that lightning storm and…you're not the only one with 'gifts'." He said and tapped a few buttons on his wheelchair showing a map on a screen on the wall. It was a map of Central City. "All the yellow dots on the map, those were the areas affected by the storm of dark matter. And a lot of them are using those abilities to wreck havoc on the city. We could really use the help" "Sure. I'd be happy to help. But right now, I have to be with my…fa…mily. Yeeaahh" He said and headed for the door. "I'll keep in touch Doc."

He left immediately wanting to experience first-hand what it felt like being the fastest man alive. He left the lab and sped towards the CCPD feeling the thrill of the wind rushing against his body. "Okay! I think I just passed the CCPD. Where's the brake?!! Crap!!"

He just kept running ahead, his clothes was started to ignite from the friction. He kept taking random turns until he saw a huge pool. "Water! Cool, yeah yeah, yeah! Perfect!" He suddenly stopped, the force throwing him into the water making a huge splash.

"Who the hell is that?" a woman shouted from the house in front. "Crap…"

CCPD

Barry arrived at the entrance of the CCPD, partly soaked and headed for the captain's office. A lot of the staff were happy to see him, hugging him and stopping him to say "Hi". It almost took forever to get to Joe's office.

He lightly pushed the door open and waved at Joe who sat behind the desk going through files.

"Barry! You're… back??"

"Yeah! And in one piece too…"

After visiting Joe and Iris and making sure they know Barry Allen's back he put a call across to Dr. Wells.

"I'll help with locating this mistakes. But first, I'm gonna need your help with these abilities" He said while walking into a café to restock on Calories.

"We'll prepare something for you over at S.T.A.R Labs. Come over"

In an abandoned airport runway behind S.T.A.R Labs, Barry, Cisco, Caitlin and Dr. Wells.

Barry was equipped in some sort of protective gear that can also monitor his vitals and body's reaction to the exercise. Cisco pressed a couple of keys on a computer and gave a thumbs up, "Just run around the track while we track your vitals. This will allow us to be able to know your limits and what you're capable of." Nodding in response, Barry took a deep breath and shot off like an arrow from a bow, accelerating to about 250mph in just a second. He kept taking multiple laps around the track.

"It's all done now Barry, you can stop." Well said looking at the readings on the monitor.

"Alright. So, uhm, the thing is… how do I stop again?"

"Okay. So, as an object moving at that kind of velocity, you've accumulated a lot of kinetic energy. But the thing is, this ability you have allows you to control the kinetic energy you've gathered around you as you move. Try controlling that aura, then dissipate it. It should allow you to make an instant stop."

'I don't know if I want to be banking on probability right now, but here goes.'

As he kept running, he noticed a red aura around him with flecked with golden lightning. "Okay. Can't be that hard"

He relaxed his body and tried to grab hold of the aura and started manipulating it. The aura felt like an extension of his body. Slowly, he started to reduce the amount of kinetic energy around his body until he immediately came to a stop, slowly sliding as he did. "OKAY!"

"If you quickly understood it that easily, then maybe you're ready to know the real complications behind the explosion of particle accelerator." Wells told him. "Meet us at the control room in about half an hour."

Before he left though, one thing piqued his interest. At the corner of his sight he saw a little 'notification.'
