The life of Leaena Leonard has always been smooth. No shortage of food or wealth. She belonged to a prestigious family of Hunters. Lea was waiting to get her Hunter ID. She always wanted to become a Hunter so that she could find the truth about the emerging Gates in the whole world. Her life went downhill when she entered a B-Rank Gate with her friend Rae without a Hunter ID. Lea didn't know the reward she would receive will change her life...
The current year is 2028. The world is now completely changed. All of a sudden, portals like gates emerged out of nowhere in the year 2000. It was confusing for everyone, and no one dared to touch them. They looked beautiful with their shiny blue appearance and all, but it proved scary for mankind. People tried to throw things inside, but the objects never got through the gates, nor did the gates return them. So humans thought that it was best not to get any closer to them.
But one day, in the year 2006, the gates broke, and monsters appeared out of them. Many people were killed, and on that very same day, many people awakened supernatural powers; they were called 'Hunters'. The hunters started to raid the gates and clear them.
It's been 28 years, and the reason is still unknown. Nothing remains like it was in the beginning. We were given powers to amuse the Supreme Being, which existed somewhere we weren't aware of.
The hunters were classified based on their Zodiac Signs. The powerful ones can have a partnership with their respective Zodiac constellations.
The people fought and fought for power but eventually forged peace. Because of this drastic change, humans decided to start everything anew. A council was formed by the people who were the very first to receive powers, the Hiraeth Hunter Organization (HHO). Among them, some were old and some were young geniuses. They together named the new earth- Hiraeth.
All these years, scientists have researched the Gates and found many interesting things about them.
Using the materials and items that the hunters provided to the scientists, the whole world discovered teleportation gates. These gates were owned by the country's Hunter Association and all 12 Guilds. Teleportation Gates allowed hunters and even ordinary people to pass through them to their intended destinations.
As time passed, many hunters and ordinary people settled outside their own country. This is a time when we can't call India a Hindi-speaking country, China a Chinese-speaking country, Japan a Japanese-speaking country, Korea a Korean-speaking country, the USA an English-speaking country, France a French-speaking country and more. Every country was full of diverse languages. We were expected to learn all types of languages, especially English, as it would be helpful to carry out missions outside the country.
The council agreed that this change was worth recording in history. We used our powers to clear gates. Nothing around us seemed dangerous. Everything was going smoothly or so we thought… We didn't know that the real calamity was at our door…
