Sinopse

In a kingdom where fate is determined by the stars, Princess Elira has always been bound to a prophecy she cannot escape. Marked by the celestial alignment at her birth, she is destined to marry the ruthless Crown Prince of Vandir and unite their warring realms. But when a chance encounter with a mysterious traveler named Kaelen awakens her heart in ways she never thought possible, Elira is faced with an impossible choice: fulfill her duty or follow her soul’s desire. Kaelen is no ordinary wanderer. Hidden behind his mischievous grin and piercing amber eyes lies a secret that could shatter kingdoms. Born of forbidden magic, he is a Starforged—an immortal created to serve the gods but cursed to live in shadows. Drawn to Elira by an inexplicable connection, Kaelen knows their bond could destroy the fragile peace between their lands. Yet every stolen glance, every whispered word, deepens the bond neither can deny. As Elira’s wedding day draws near, political alliances unravel, and long-buried secrets rise. The stars themselves seem to conspire against the lovers, their paths fraught with betrayal, ancient curses, and the wrath of the gods. To defy her destiny, Elira must uncover the truth behind the prophecy that chains her and harness the forbidden power locked within her soul. But love comes at a cost, and one kiss could rewrite the fate of not only Elira and Kaelen but the entire realm. Fate’s Forbidden Kiss is a sweeping tale of star-crossed lovers, treacherous magic, and the unyielding strength of the heart. Will love triumph over destiny, or will the stars tear them apart forever?

Chapter 1The Starbound Prophecy

The stars hung low over the kingdom of Altheris, their light weaving intricate patterns in the deep navy sky. To the untrained eye, they were nothing more than twinkling pinpricks of beauty. But to the seers of the Celestial Order, they were the words of the gods themselves, immutable and absolute. It was said that the destiny of every soul was etched into the heavens the moment they took their first breath, a cosmic script that bound even kings and queens to its will.

Princess Elira of Altheris was no exception.

Born under the rare convergence of the Seven Sacred Stars, Elira's destiny had been foretold before she could speak her first word. The prophecy was proclaimed with reverence and fear: she would marry the Crown Prince of Vandir, the rival kingdom whose bloodlines carried the scent of war and steel. Their union, the seers declared, would bring an age of peace to the fractured lands, healing centuries of strife. Yet, beneath the promise of harmony, the words whispered of sacrifice, one that would demand everything of her.

Elira sat alone on the marble balcony of the royal observatory, her golden hair catching the moonlight like spun fire. The vast expanse of stars above felt suffocating, their brilliance pressing down on her as if to remind her of her place beneath their gaze. She traced the constellation of the Sacred Seven with trembling fingers, the same pattern that had sealed her fate. "What is peace worth if it comes at the cost of my freedom?" she murmured into the night.

Her voice carried no further than the wind, but it wasn't the first time she'd asked the question. It haunted her every waking moment, the knowledge that her life was not her own. From her earliest memories, Elira had been groomed for her role as a bride of diplomacy, her every action dictated by the needs of the prophecy. She had learned to smile when she wanted to cry, to speak words of charm when her heart burned with defiance. Yet, deep inside her, a spark flickered,a defiant ember that refused to be extinguished. The sound of footsteps broke her reverie. Elira turned to see her handmaiden, Lira, stepping onto the balcony with a cautious expression. The girl's auburn hair was tied in a neat braid, her pale green eyes full of concern.

"Your Highness, you'll catch a chill," Lira said gently, draping a velvet shawl over Elira's shoulders. "The night grows colder this time of year."

"I needed the air," Elira replied, though her voice lacked its usual composure.

Lira hesitated before sitting beside her mistress. "Another sleepless night?"

Elira nodded, her gaze fixed on the stars. "How can I sleep when the heavens themselves conspire against me? They've written my life without my consent, Lira. Every choice, every moment, all for a prophecy I never asked for."

Lira's expression softened. "Perhaps the stars can guide us, but they cannot bind our hearts, my lady. You are stronger than you know."

Elira wanted to believe her, but the weight of the prophecy was a chain she couldn't ignore. "And yet, here I am, a pawn on their celestial chessboard."

The two sat in silence, the cool night air brushing against their faces. But just as Elira began to lose herself in her thoughts again, a faint sound reached her ears,a melody carried by the wind, haunting and unfamiliar. It was neither the call of the night birds nor the hum of the palace guards. It was something otherworldly, a song that seemed to resonate with the very fabric of the stars.

"Do you hear that?" Elira whispered.

Lira tilted her head, her brow furrowing. "Hear what?"

"The music." Elira rose to her feet, the shawl slipping from her shoulders. The melody grew stronger, weaving itself into her soul. It pulled at her, an invisible thread leading her away from the balcony and down the grand spiral staircase of the observatory.

"Your Highness, wait!" Lira called, but Elira didn't stop.

The palace corridors were bathed in silver moonlight as she followed the sound, her bare feet moving as if guided by an unseen force. The melody led her past the royal gardens, through the shadowed courtyards, and to the ancient ruins that lay at the edge of the palace grounds,a place forbidden to all but the royal family.

The ruins had once been a temple to the gods, its alabaster pillars now crumbled and overgrown with ivy. In its center stood an altar etched with runes so old they seemed to shimmer with their own light. And there, standing before the altar, was a figure cloaked in black, his face hidden beneath a hood.

The music stopped as Elira approached, her breath hitching in her throat. The air around the figure seemed to hum with power, a faint glow emanating from the intricate patterns on his cloak.

"Who are you?" Elira demanded, her voice steady despite the pounding of her heart.

The figure turned, lowering his hood to reveal a man with striking amber eyes and dark hair that fell in waves to his shoulders. His features were sharp, almost otherworldly, and his gaze held a mixture of curiosity and sorrow.

"I am Kaelen," he said, his voice deep and resonant. "A traveler of the stars."

Elira's brows knit together. "A traveler of the stars? Do you mock me?"

Kaelen shook his head. "No, Princess. I speak the truth. I have come because your destiny and mine are entwined."

Her eyes narrowed. "You speak of destiny as if it is a gift. To me, it is a prison."

Kaelen stepped closer, his movements deliberate but unthreatening. "The stars may dictate our paths, but they cannot predict our choices. You, Elira, are at the center of a prophecy that will change this world. But prophecies are riddles, and even the gods can be defied."

His words ignited something within her, the ember of rebellion growing into a flame. "Why should I trust you?"

Kaelen hesitated, his gaze searching hers. "Because I am cursed by the same stars that seek to bind you. I am what they call a Starforged,a being created to serve the gods, but cast aside when I dared to question their will. My existence is a reminder that even the heavens can falter."

Elira's breath caught. The tales of the Starforged were legend, whispered among scholars and seers. They were said to be immortal, their souls bound to the stars themselves. But if Kaelen spoke the truth, he was the first of his kind to set foot in Altheris in centuries.

"If what you say is true," she said slowly, "why have you come to me?"

Kaelen's amber eyes burned with intensity. "Because the prophecy that chains you is flawed. It was crafted by those who fear your power, who seek to use you as a pawn. But you are more than they realize, Elira. And together, we can rewrite the stars."

The words hung in the air, electrifying and dangerous. For the first time, Elira felt the weight of her chains begin to lift, replaced by the possibility of freedom.

Her lips parted as if to respond, but the distant sound of approaching footsteps shattered the moment.

"Princess!" Lira's voice called out, laced with panic.

Kaelen stepped back, his form beginning to blur as if dissolving into the night itself. "Seek me when you are ready to fight for your fate," he said, his voice a whisper against the wind.

And then he was gone, leaving Elira standing alone beneath the stars, her heart racing with the promise of rebellion.

For the first time in her life, the heavens no longer felt so far out of reach.
