Chapter 1: George Albeno

The brand new VR mmorpg called Kingdom's Online by SundayCorp was a massive hit with citizens of earth regardless of age, gender or race.

The game was the first real step into integrating virtual reality into real life. This is because the game is played not with a remote or wearing a headset but by transferring the physical body of the into a virtual space, almost like a separate dimension.

The game was released to some unknown beta testers and the reviews were top notch. This sparked many influential people in the gaming industry to play the highly priced early release which further increased the hype.

As time passed more and more people began to play as the government started to invest in real life applications through the tech used while playing the game.

The users were happy with this as the AI begun to learn more about human behaviour and how to manage the games themselves.

By the time the first shipment was sent out to the general public, people were already preparing to play.

Everyone was going to play this game, it just had to be done.

By the time the year 2205 came about, pretty much everyone had a room made specifically for playing Kingdom's online.

Of course, that included me, George Albeno, an 18 year old university student who spends his time working out, studying or drinking.

Ding!

The ding of the doorbell echoed throughout my house.

"Coming!" I called out in reply to the doorbell.

Standing in front of the door while, I saw a black metal box about the size of a palm hovering in front of me.

Taking the metal box into the empty room in the back of the house, I placed it into the centre of the room.

The box opened itself and begun to leak a black liquid that forcefully re shaped the matter around it into the necessary equipment to launch Kingdom's Online.

"Woah" I muttered in awe at the now shiny black metallic room with an elevated centre of the room that had turned into a podium with steps up one side.

Having read the instuctions before even ordering the game, I knew what to do.

Stepping up onto the centre of the podium I started the launch sequence.

"System Start" I stated to my self.

A blue light shone from the ceiling and covered my entire body.

My body began to pixilate and float upwards into the black hole above me.
