Enthralling Escapades of an Explorer

There was a time when Humans and other creatures lived together in one world. Yes, Vampires, werewolves, Fairies, Gnomes, Goblins, Centaurs, Fauns, Wizards, Mages and the likes. Even gods and Demigods, Beings and Creatures now believed to be fictitious were real and lived among Humans. Those times soon  came to an end and the existence of these creatures were reduced to mere myths and stories told to scare children. And though the Humans didn't know it, these creatures still existed, just in another world, a universe that mirrored the Human world.  It was in this time that an Explorer by the name Kante Avah lived in Samballa, a city in an African country. This Explorer was soon going to make a discovery that would mark history.

Chapter 2: Agent Percival

"Run, Bon, run!" Bonclyde's mother shouted to her at the sound of the banging on the door. The invaders were attempting to break in. Earlier, they had seen flashes of lights all around their small village and heard the sound of a hundred feets rushing into the settlement. Her father had grabbed his dane gun and her mother had bolted all the doors and closed the windows knowing trouble was near. They heard screams all around, gunshots everywhere and the air was filled with the smell of gunpowder. They had hoped to remain silent and perhaps the invaders may not notice their home but this wasn't just any invasion, it was an extermination.

There was a knock on the door firstly, then came a bang and then a louder bang and her mom had shouted to her to run. Bonclyde ran and hid under the stairs as her mom shouted the second time. She watched from under the stairs through a hole as the invaders finally took down the door and made their way in. Her dad shot at the first man who made it in, the others had opened fire on them from outside. A bullet hit her dad and injured him badly. Her mom had fought bravely using magic. With just the wave of her hand Bonclyde's mom had sent many of the invaders falling to their deaths. Her mom could do magic and so could she but she couldn't do what her mom did as she wasn't to be shown how, till she was 14. The invaders were too many, they surrounded the house and fired shots from all directions. Her mom couldn't hold them off any longer and her dad was too injured to even move. Soon the men overpowered Bonclyde's mom. Bonclyde watched as they beat her and one of the men slit her throat and left her lying in cold blood. Bonclyde was horrified, too afraid to cry, too afraid to scream, so she remained silent. The men set the house on fire and left. Bonclyde came out of hiding, crying and rushed to her mom who was lying lifeless in her own pool of blood. Bonclyde cried out loud holding her mom's body, soaking herself in her mom's blood.

"Bon" she heard her father's voice call out to her. She had rushed to where he was to discover he was still alive and the men had left him for dead.

He was lying by the corner, dying, gasping for breath and struggling to speak.

"Bon, you must go and live, stay alive and survive… You can do great things like your mom but the world doesn't like that… don't let them see what you can do", Her dad said to her.

Bonclyde had been more concerned about helping her father. "Hang on dad, I'm going to get help" she said, getting up to leave. By then, the fire was bigger and had consumed half of the house already. Bonclyde was sweating from the heat and coughing as she made her way out.

"Don't come back, Bon, the fire… it's too late" her dad said but she paid no attention and rushed out screaming, "Help!" only to discover her entire village on fire.

The invaders had left and the place was dead silent. She walked around to see dead bodies everywhere and she couldn't find any living person. She ran out of the settlement hoping to find help nearby. She ran as fast as she could till she came upon a road. Just as she was about getting on the road, a truck hit her. She was in severe pains with her mouth and eyes filled with blood, she was gasping for breath and was drifting off to death. She saw a stranger walking towards her as her eyelids closed. That was the last thing she saw, not that she remembers any of it now though. She was 8 and she remained in a coma for 8 months.

Bonclyde was only starting to realize she was having a memory jog. She had lost all memory on that day but now they were all coming back to her like flashes before her eyes. She wondered why she was remembering this now after so many years. Perhaps she had pushed too hard when trying to get into Kante's head in order to find out how he travelled there. She couldn't think any further as the memories kept playing right in front of her eyes like a movie.

8 months after the accident, she woke up in the facility, as it was called and is still called today. It is the same facility which they are currently in, though it wasn't what it is today. It was more of a Medical research facility then, and was only about three storeys tall.

She woke up on a bed with an infusion flowing into her through a tube. A doctor walked in, excited to see her awake and welcomed her back from the dead. The doctor asked her if she could move her arms and feet. She sat up on the bed showing the doctor she was ok. The doctor smiled at her and asked if she could remember her name, how she got there or anything at all but she simply shook her head each time and remained silent. The doctor asked her not to worry, telling her she'll be fine and they'll help her. He removed the Infusion and walked out of the room while Bonclyde remained seated. She looked around the room she was in, everything was strange and unfamiliar. The doctor soon returned with another man, the man who today is her boss, Mr.Trebor Witkinstein. He took her by the hand and led her outside the facility, they took a stroll in the surrounding neighborhood. As they walked he explained to Bonclyde, everything that happened to her. He told her about her accident, how everyone she knew was killed by Humans and how the Humans went on to kill every other creature that wasn't Human all over the world. If she was saddened by anything he said, she didn't show it. She remained unaffected and silent. He further told her she had been unconscious for 8 months and that a lot had happened in that time. He told her how the demigods had saved them and how they had travelled to the mirror world, a story she would soon tell Kante. They returned to the facility and he proceeded to tell her about the creatures that live in this mirror world. He explained that every creature lived in peace in the mirror world, only humans are not allowed there. He told her of the different kinds of creatures and even pointed out what kind those at the facility were. Little as she was, she seemed to understand what he said and wasn't frightened by what she heard and saw. She inquired to know what kind he was and herself too. He told her she was a wizardess and he, a wizard. He took her into the facility and handed her over to the doctor again, assuring her they will take good care of her there.

Bonclyde lived and grew up in the facility, raised as a wizard, fighter, and agent. She wasn't the only kid at the facility, there were several other kids who would become her family at the facility. They were taught how to speak, read and write in various languages, they studied Math, Science, Art, Martial arts and for Bonclyde and other wizard kids, Wizardry too. They received rigorous military training even at an early age. They became experts in stealth, intelligence, forensics, infiltration, evasion, assassination etc. They were trained for 20 years and they became the first special agents of the Universal Intelligence Agency, the agency which owns the facility and others like it worldwide.

The UIA was responsible for making sure there was peace in the mirror world, overseeing all creatures and making sure they don't go overboard in their behavior and making sure the humans never discover the mirror world and find out they exist. The mirror world was divided into 5 sectors by the UIA, they are : Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Omega and Theta. Each sector was as large as a continent on earth. The UIA headquarters was situated in Alpha, while the facility was their branch in Theta. Theta was more like earth's Africa.

Bonclyde received her first field mission when she was 28. Some Vampires had travelled to earth and had killed an entire filming crew. The Mission was to destroy every evidence that links the killings to Vampires and to track down the rogue vampires and bring them to justice. She was excited yet scared as she embarked on this mission with her partner, Derrick, who was a werewolf. They got to the scene just before the local police arrived and had burned all the bodies. Using a tracking spell, Bonclyde tracked the vampires to where they hid. In no time they were at the vampires hideout. There were about 8 Vampires there. Derrick wanted to call for backup as it was a deadly confrontation. Bonclyde, however, said they could handle it on their own and calling for backup would make them look less capable for the field work. She went in and spoke to the vamps, told them they were to stand down and come with her for their own safety. The vamps, realizing she was an agent, took flight but Bonclyde, using her magical abilities, stopped them. She raised her hand, while chanting some spells and they stopped moving and then she threw them off to the walls. She asked them to stand down once again. Some got up and ran out with great speed.

Vampires were really fast but it was an ability they shared with werewolves. As fast as they ran Derrick caught up with them and killed them, slashing them with his sharp claws and biting them with his fangs. The others realized a werewolf was killing their friends and ran out to help. They surrounded Derrick  and they attacked him but Bonclyde was there in time to save him. She choked them telekinetically, she raised them high in the air and threw them on hard surfaces while Derrick gave them the finishing blow. They retrieved the bodies and cleaned up the scene clearing it of any traces of their presence and they returned to HQ to receive their Medals of Honour. It was a happy moment for Bonclyde.

So in a span of 20 years Bonclyde Percival had become Agent Percival, one of the best Agents of the UIA. She and some of her family of friends who were raised up together were made the Elite squadron of the UIA special agents. They were thirty kids, raised by the UIA who grew up together as a family. Seven made it into the Elite squadron and they were Called the P7. Six out of the others were dead, two died in training, four on missions. The members of the P7 were Bonclyde, Derrick, Anna, Grimm, Torrin, Caesar and Caithlin. They moved to HQ to stay among other agents there and to train new agents. The P7 were given only the most important, classified and dangerous field missions.

Soon Bonclyde would move from being the best agent to being a normal researcher at the Facility. This happened when tragedy struck her family, the facility was attacked by a clan of magical beings, the Warlocks and Witches. The agents had fought bravely but the magic of the warlocks and witches was more powerful. Fourteen of the seventeen members of Bonclyde's family left at the facility were killed in the battle. The Warlocks ran off after suffering great losses. The P7 heard of what had happened and went after the warlocks, breaking the agency protocol. They tracked down the warlocks and engaged them in a bloody battle. In the end only Caesar and Bonclyde were left. They won the battle but at a great cost.

The UIA sanctioned them for breaking protocol, they were taken off the P7 unit and their special agent statuses were revoked to normal agents and they were reassigned to Theta region, to the facility.

Caesar and three of the other members of their family quit the UIA. One stayed back with Bonclyde who quit fieldwork to become a researcher at the facility.

That was 100 years ago and Agent Percival relived the entire experience again. She couldn't help but wonder why she saw all that and how she has suddenly regained her lost memory.

As  the memory flashes stopped, she fell on the ground, sad faced, tears trickling down her cheeks. She passed out just when Kante regained consciousness.
