Chapter 1: The Plan

Inside a big tent, in a gathering of hundreds of smaller tents, sat a man, with silver hair, pale skin, and bright blue eyes. Yes, it was me, Elda. I am out on a hunt. I am out to invade the neighboring plains of Alaksanda. A big muscly man with bright blonde hair walks into the tent

Elda: "So Torres, how are the preparations?"

Torres: "20,000 soldiers are standby, waiting for your command, sir"

Elda: "Amazing work! Now wait for a while longer, my plan is just about to be finished"

Then there was a long pause.

Elda: "My chess pieces, Torres. Where are they?"

Torres: "In the box back there sir."

He points behind me, a wooden box lays in the direction he points.

Elda: "Thank you Torres, you may not excuse yourself'

The man with blonde hair then bows and leaves the tent. Voullion takes out a map and rolls it out. And the he puts the chess pieces on it, one by one, but he doesn't put down the king. The king stayed in the box. The king always stays in the box.

Elda: "Now, the plan begins!"

The position of the plains was interesting. The flatlands are split in two by a range of mountains, but a gap between the range exists, leaving a path open for soldiers to advance. The part of the plains on the other side of the mountains was close to the neighbouring country of Alakzensha. But there was a problem to overcome. The Alakzenshans had over 300,000 soldiers while the county of Rejonia only had 100,000. But Elda liked these kinds of problems. It made the strategizing more fun.

After a long period of silence, Prince Elda Fursent Voullion yells "Yes"!

He moves a single pawns into the path between the mountains. All other pawns, he moves into the mountains. He laughs manically. He had fun coming up with this strategy. He looks at the box and puts the rooks and bishops away. The king was still in the box. The king is always in the box. The king never comes out of the box.

The blondie comes back into the room.

Torres: "Sir, are you done"

Elda: "Yes Torres, come look at this"

Torres looks at the map. He looks at the pieces. Then he looks back to Elda.

Torres: "Sir... You do know that the mountains have and eternal snowstorm. They've been cursed age-"

Elda: "SILENCE! If the snow is the problem, we'll just move the snow to the gap of the hills."

Torres: "Sir, you surely don't mean-"

Elda smiles, the smile filled with a trench deep malice. He puts his left hand on the table and takes off his glove.

A blue mark glows lightly in his hand. It's the shape of a star, twinkling silently in his palm. The blue colour reminds one of the ocean.

Elda: "Torres, do you know why my dad, and his dad, and his dad, and even his great grandfather have been kings for so long, even though anyone can become royalty in this country?"

Torres's legs shiver.

Torres: "Sir, it's that mark, isn't it?"

Elda: "Correct. Many armies were destroyed by my ancestors. Single. Handedly."

Elda pauses. A silence fills the tent. Torres still shivers, in fear of the power his master possesses. Elda places the knights past the mountains in enemy territory. A pincer attack, that is what he was planning.

Elda(Standing Up): "I'm contradicting my thoughts when I say this, but Torres, I'm gonna go to the mountains, and I'm gonna send the eternal snowstorm to the middle passage of the plains. And then I'm going to fight."

Elda smiles again, with a deeper malice, as deep as the ocean. He finally pick up the queen. He places the queen in the far back of the map. Elda was the queen, and he placed himself in the far ends of the plains, right in enemy territory. But the king remained in the box. The king always stayed in the box.

Elda sighs and walks out of the tent. Soldiers see him and immediately start to gather in tightly packed positions. This is because Elda only leaves his tent if he needs to take a piss or a shit, take a walk, or to command the army. Almost a thousand soldiers were gathered before he even called.

Elda(loudly): "EVERYONE GATHER! I HAVE FORMULATED THE PLAN!"

The soldiers working under Elda always trusted him. It was due to his near perfect track record. The percentage of casualties in his average invasion was only 2% after all. Elda had only messed up once in his life. And that was the day his father disappeared. It was the they the king went into the box, never to come out. It was a memory Elda had repressed.

The soldiers gathered while Elda walked around aimlessly, gazing at the afternoon sky. He wondered what his mother in the Capital was doing. The Queen has been a busy woman after the King's disappearance after all. But Elda was too young to be king. He said it himself. Elda told his mother he will come back to the capital when he thinks he's ready.

More than 15,000 soldiers had gathered in a tight formation. Elda walked up to the highest ground possible. He took off his glove. As he took it off, his mark started to glow, from a soft gentle glow to a violent and devastating glow. Electricity flowed freely through his body as his silver hair floated up.

Elda: "NOW, MY SOLDIERS, THE TIME FOR CONQUEST IS NEAR! I HAVE DECIDED TO FIGHT ALONGSIDE YOU TO CONQUER THE PLAINS OF ALAKSANDA, BELONGING TO THE NATION OF ALAKZENSHA!"

Oh, I might have forgotten to mention. To the readers of my story, I'm the villain!

Elda smiles as he prepares to reveal his plan to take down an army 3 times as large as his own.
