chapter 5

the lunch was a grand success, everyone seems to like it by the jolly mood going on in the hall, they were happy and laughing which is good for him, even if his modern palate identified it as just passable, it's not that he is not satisfied, but he is already missing all the different tastes from earth

3 hours later, there was a loud noise, like the emergency sound on earth, and everyone started running towards the training field, and him being not stupid immediately understood what was going on, especially after seeing them wearing the training outfit, so he run to the dorm and wore his own training outfit as fast a he can and went to the field

hopefully he made it in time and was not the last one the make it, I said hopefully cause the last one was hanged upside down in the middle of the field under the hot sun, everyone was lined up neatly waiting for the drill Sergent's instructions, Arowen never had military training but he watched some of them on YouTube or in movies, and he wasn't stupid, when he made it to the field, he immediately spotted his cooks crew and joined them

after a few march drills that he did successfully they had to run around the field

"give me 200 rounds in 30 minutes, 30 more if you don't finish it!! now MOVE!!"

the drill Sergent yelled at them, and as it would be expected Arowen was last of his batch, after all the people of this world are born with stronger bodies and higher potential than him, not mention that they must be already used to it, compared to him, now the only advantage that he had over them was that he didn't have a cap over his potential and could grow as long as he tries, so by the time the 30 minutes ended, Arowen was still running and was 100 or so laps behind so he was still stuck at running, for him to move to the next exercise he had to finish the first one, their was some chore boys who didn't complete the run on time, but they were close, the worst of them had 30 laps left, and of course there was those who excelled and finished it before the 30 minutes, the best of them was 20 minutes

the drill Sergent saw it and he kept hurling insults upon insults at the late ones, and he gave special care to our protagonist, but to Arowen this didn't matter, by 70 laps he was already exhausted, by 80 laps he could only hear his ragged breathing and heart beat wildly, by 90 laps he didn't even feel his legs or arms anymore, but by some miracle was still running, i will let you that that is a perk of his enigma, it has strengthened his spirit and by extension his will which made his overcome his limits and squeeze as much as he could from his body, and finally at 110 lap his body couldn't take it anymore, his vision was already blurry and he collapsed

the Sergent has been observing him for quite sometime, and was really impressed by his will, he could already tell that he went past his limits and beyond even, so after Arowen collapsed he called for one of the chore boys to carry him to the medic bay

"get him to Swara" the Sergent said

"YES! SIR!" and so the chore boy carried Arowen on his shoulder like a sack of potatoes and ran to the medical center

10 minutes later, the doctor Swara a big buff guy over 2 meters tall, a hulk of a man was checking on Arowen

"what a mess, *sigh* multiple muscle injuries, severe exhaustion and a head injury" did i forget that when he collapsed head first hehe

"and such a weak constitution, what got into the marines these days, accepting such a weak person," after finishing he evaluation and moving his tools he undressed Arowen, and cleaned him up from all the sweat and grim with a surprising agility you wouldn't expect from a giant like him, afterwards he applied some sort of medical paste, that smelled very pungent and then wrapped him up like a mommy

Arowen stayed in a coma for 4 days straight, and during that time, the quality of the food got back its previous standards, unfortunately for the whole base, the top brass investigated the cause and found out that the reason it went up in the first place was because of Arowen and that he was now sick in bed after the afternoon drill, and that annoyed Swara the most, with all those big shots asking for Arowen's condition and when he could get back up,

finally on the 4th day he woke up already healed, it took him 3 days to make a full remission and the reaming one to recover from the exhaustion and the healing process, you really gotta give it to this world for its excellent knowledge and expertise when it came to medicine, it really did miracles
