Killed by a grim reaper, our MC, Hakai, meets with the God of Reincarnation and tells him that he has passed the Trial of Souls meaning that he will be granted 6 wishes and the choice of any universe to reincarnate into. Hakai was a normal, average guy... at least he thought so, and this is how he died.
It was just a normal day. He was heading home from work when a little girl approached him.
"What do you think of dying?" the girl asked.
He was pretty weirded out when she asked me this but he answered her, "Uhh, probably painful. Are you lost?"
As he thought about it some more, he definitely didn't want to die. He still hasn't gotten laid yet even though he was 19.
"I'm not lost and you're wrong. Dying might be painful, but once you die, you're free." The girl giggled. "Well, it doesn't matter. You're destined to die here anyway."
As she said that, black, feathery wings sprouted from her back and a black scythe bigger than her body appeared in her hands.
'What the fuck? She has wings? Why does she have wings? And did she just say I was about to die? Fuck this shit. I'm out.'
Hakai has seen enough horror movies to know that you don't mess with little girls that are talking about death, especially when they have an oversized scythe on them.
"Peace, I'm out."
With those words, he turned around to run the other way.
Hakai hoped that he was just hallucinating, but he was proven wrong when the little girl swooped in with her wings and picked him up by his shirt.
"Huh, you're a weird one. You've passed your destined date to die. If I recall, you were supposed to die from a heart attack," the girl said.
"Put me down and of course I wouldn't die. Dying of a heart attack isn't a cool way to die."
"Pfft!" The girl giggled. "Your soul is an abnormal one. I'll get a bonus for bringing you in."
"Whoah, wait a minute. What are you and what are you going to do to me?"
"We have many names but I guess you could call me a grim reaper. Don't worry this won't hurt," she said as she brought the scythe closer to him.
'I can't die here. I'm gonna die a virgin? What the hell kinda luck is this?'
"Wait. Don't-"
As her scythe made contact with his head, he found himself in a completely white world surrounded by nothing but white.
"H-hello? Is anyone there? Little girl? Did I die?" he called out.
"Hmm, another soul that has passed the Trial of Souls," a voice said.
"Huh? Who are you and what do you mean by 'passing the Trial of Souls?'" he asked.
"Well, quite simply. I'm the God Of Reincarnation and by the 'Trial of Souls', it means that your soul has absorbed so much Aether that it is too strong to be reincarnated."
'What the hell? This is straight out of a fiction novel.'
"What does that mean then? Am I just stuck in this white room?"
"No, you can still reincarnate, but because of your excess of aether, you'll keep your memories of your past life and I'll have to use your excess Aether to grant you a reasonable wish in your next life."
"For real?!" As a guy who read a lot of fanfictions and web novels in his free time, this was one of his dreams.
"Yup," the voice replied. "With the amount of excess Aether that you have, I can grant you a maximum of 6 wishes. Do note though that these wishes aren't omnipotent meaning there are limits."
Hakai thought to himself as he bit his non-existent lip since he didn't actually have a body right now.
'If this was a novel, It'd be an isekai novel and I would be the protagonist. With 6 wishes, I can make myself OP, but first, I need to know something.'
"Can I choose which world I get reincarnated to? Even if it's a fictional one?"
"Yes you can and as an added benefit, you'll be able to switch worlds after a year of residing in your world of choice."
"Ok, then I know what my wishes are!" Hakai began reciting his wishes. "For my first wish, I want to have a system. For my second wish, I want to be a dragon. For my third wish, I want to have Absolute Weapon Proficiency. For my fourth wish, I want to have Meta Crafting. For my fifth wish, I want to modify what I look like, and for my sixth and last wish, I want a shop system that will let me buy anything from other universes for a price."
"The system is fine. Same with the being a dragon, but you don't have enough Aether to get Absolute Weapon Proficiency or Meta Crafting. You'll have to downgrade them both."
"That's fine. Can you downgrade them then?" Meta crafting and Absolute Weapon Proficiency are good, but they are very OP, so Hakai didn't mind downgrading them since he could still make do with what he had.
"Ok then moving on. The fifth wish is fine, and the shop system is fine. Great now I just need to know what world you're going to."
Hakai thought long and hard. With these wishes, or should he call them cheats, he could basically go to any world he wanted, but which to go to first.
After a few minutes of thinking, he went with the first anime that he fell in love with: One Piece.
"Now, modify what you look like and you'll be sent into the world of One Piece. Don't worry. I've made it easy to use so you can make yourself look like whatever you want."
A blue window appeared in front of him with a hologram beside it showing what he would look like. Since he was a dragon, he was actually customizing what his dragon form would look like currently.
After a bit of fine-tweaking, he finished customizing his dragon form and he now started to customize his human form since dragons inherently had the power to transform into forms of different races.
"I'm done!"
