Chapter 1 — Yu Han
The sun slowly rose above the sky, the darkness scattering away amidst the gentle rays of sunlight.
"Mnn... Morning already?"
A child slowly opened his eyes, the faint light coming from the distant window covering his face.
He was a cute and good-looking boy with large round purple eyes that glistened ever so slightly, and a long black eyelashes.
The boy ruffled his messy frame of silky hair that was black, almost charcoal in colour. He carefully sat up on his bed, his deep piercing purple eyes examining the room.
A room that was too large for a young boy like him.
"It's good that fiendish brat is no longer sleeping with me anymore."
He mumbled in relief, the weight covering his mind finally being lifted.
It used to be very difficult to adjust and even in this life, but now, after almost six years, it had become less awkward and endurable.
6-years-old Yu Han stood up out of his bed and slowly walked to the window.
"Ah...!"
Yu Han stretched himself, his joints popping and muscles loosening. It felt great and relaxing. He then continued to open the window to gaze upon the outside world.
The freezing winter had already passed and spring was just around the corner.
It was March 1 today.
The scent of the spring flowers, which were starting to bloom, tickled his nose. However, that doesn't seemed to impress him.
Yu Han leaned relaxedly against the window and looked outside with a gentle smile, savoring the beautiful and sooting scenery before him.
At first glance, Yu Han's facial features were of a young, bright child. However, his current expression was like of an adult who have experienced all sorts of misfortunes and storms in this world.
"Its already been six years. Time is truly a fleeting thing..."
Like his strange expression, his tone was very unnatural for a child.
His family and maid would be clearly stunned if they saw the current him.
Which is why he didn't behaved that way in front of the grown-ups and hide it for himself.
He instead acted as an energetic child, as much as he could.
"Tch, today is gonna be much more troublesome, isn't it? With that ceremony just around the corner..."
Yu Han clicked his tongue in annoyance.
After strangely reincarnating in this world without a warning, Yu Han grew up under the careful care of his mother until now. Wait, the word without warning wasn't right. He had noticed some unusual things when he had died at his previous life.
For Yu Han, who had his previous life's memories intact, his current life was an arduous task to handle.
Especially, when he had to relive the awkward times of being infant into a child. It was even more troublesome to act properly like a child and not appear strange or even weird. It would be his doom if he somehow appeared like that, there was a chance of him being mistaken as someone possessed by a devil.
Just imagining about it caused him him to frown and shudder greatly.
It would have been more doable if he just transmigrated instead of reincarnating into this strange land of battle spirits.
Yu Han sighed thinking about these. His current situation was just too ridiculous. No, even his unexplainable reincarnation was absolutely ridiculous and it might be the start of all things.
Still, he couldn't do anything.
Yu Han.
On his one hand,
He was the only son of Yu Fei and also the younger twin of Yu Bing'er. Yes, he have a twin and a twin sister at that.
His family was from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. No, it was an overestimation for him to say they were truly part of this top-rank clan when they were treated like an outcast.
On his other hand,
Yu Han was the most bastard out of the bastards living in a world called Earth. He was an extremely selfish and egoistic bastard.
However...
"This time... let's try to become a good person at least..."
It was unknown how many times he had uttered those words. He had long forgotten about it. He didn't even know why he wanted to somehow become a good person, but he guessed it might be because of his regret.
Yu Han's regret of not being a good and filial son to his past family that cared for him deeply despite his rotten personality.
Still, despite that, it was already too late...
"But it isn't that bad... I've already forgotten most of my memories from the past..."
This reincarnation offered him a new opportunity.
For him to live his new best life. Not as the villain who always lose in the end of every stories.
To live to his best, to become a better him.
If there was any problem about his new life, it would be definitely about him reliving childhood phase.
Yup, it was definitely about it being extremely exhausting to act like a proper child while possessing the mentality of a youth or was it an adult?
The next problem would be about the situation his family was currently facing from, them being considered as an outcast.
It was mainly due to his incompetent father who thankfully already disappeared from this world.
His father was called by the majority of the clan as the second trash of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan. Because of his trash dragon spirit, he was considered as an embarrassment from the whole clan and this also applied to the family he created later on.
After his father died without any achievements, their situation fortunately didn't worsened. They were just pushed away and became an outcast since his mother wasn't even related to the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon clan and instead came from an unknown fallen nobility.
The only reason they could still stay inside and be provided under the protection of the clan was because Yu Han and Yu Bing'er still carried the tyrant dragon blood within their veins. Although, it was only half and were not as pure as the descendants from the main branch.
Therefore, they could only live comfortably at the outskirt of the clan. Their two-story house was situated inside a small forest, isolated from the others.
They were not lacking any money since Yu Han's mother was working as an accountant on the clan's business. They were lucky that the clan still treated them fairly.
"Hmm? With my age now, I think I can finally start training without any permanent damage. It will be good to defend myself and my new family."
Yu Han knew what kind of world he reincarnated in. It was called Doulou Dalu, one of the many novels he had read.
To be honest, he had only read about half of the Soul Land 1 series, much to his dismay and frustration. He also didn't bothered reading the sequels that came after it.
The reason was mainly about it being boring, only a few things catching his interest.
Still, to not forget things, Yu Han wrote what he remembered from the series on a blank book using ink and quill.
From what he understand and he remembered, this world was extremely dangerous. Yikes...
The main rule governing this universe was the Law Of Jungle.
A Dog-Eat-Dog World.
Yu Han knew what he needed to do first was to basically get stronger to survive. He didn't wanted to become a cannon fodder and rely on the main character since he didn't even possessed a single cheat, a golden finger they say.
In fact, he only received a middle finger from the heaven since his chances of dying without knowing was pretty high, not gonna lie about that.
Anyways, Yu Han knew that only the strong reign over this world. The most important components building this world being the mystical energy which was present everywhere.
A kind of energy termed as spirit power.
There was also a strange power called Martial Spirit that every human possessed, something like their innate talent that allowed to them to accomplish impossible or inhuman feats by cultivating.
Having those two components meant that you can become a Spirit Master, the most noble and respected profession that existed in this world.
The spirit masters were powerful people capable of splitting mountains, destroying the seas and becoming immortal.
The only way to awaken the martial spirit was via the Spirit Awakening Ceremony. Only children who reached the age of six-year-old could attend this ceremony and awaken their martial spirit.
Yu Han was now capable of undergoing this kind of ceremony since he was now six-year-old, his birthday being today.
The current date is March 1.
It was his birthday.
It was then—
Knock! Knock!
"Young master?
A familiar voice could be heard, along with a knock.
An uplifting voice that he has been hearing for six years.
"Is it time already?"
Yu Han looked at the clock, which was placed over the wall.
Its hand closing at 8.
It seemed like he was too immersed in his contemplation, not making him realize that time had passed quickly.
"Young master, its time for your breakfast!"
Yu Han quickly responded, his voice this time with a high-pitched voice that belonged to a child.
"..Yes, I'm up now."
"Can I come in to help?"
"Okay."
The door opened slowly, and a brown-haired beautiful lady, wearing a black maid uniform, walked in.
Her name is Bai Ling, and she is currently 20-years-old.
Bai Ling was their family only maid, having serve them for almost six years now. Indeed, she has been serving them at a young age now since she was only an ordinary human orphan.
She looked at Yu Han, who was still in his black pajama.
"Your family are waiting for you. Please quickly change your clothes, young master."
"Oh, I must have overslept then. Help me change my clothings."
"Okay, but you must have sleep very peacefully with young lady no longer staying with you."
"I guess so, It's good that she's sleeping with mom now."
Yu Han smiled faintly and started changing his clothes. However, while Bai Ling was silently helping him changing his clothes, his eyes unconsciously fell upon her round, perky ass that looked very firm.
It was hard to become a good person...
His hand was twitching uncontrollably, not being able to stop himself from wanting to slap those perky ass. In the end, he couldn't help but succumb to his own instincts as a bastard in his previous life.
He was truly a bastard.
Yu Han slapped his hand over her butt strongly, amazed at the wonderful sensation he had felt.
"Kyaa!?" Bai Ling was quickly surprised, and then stared at him
"Why must I keep reminding for you to stop slapping me over there? It's painful!" She only thought of Yu Han being mischevious.
"Well, I saw a mosquito flying over there... I thought about killing it."
Huh, a lie that was too obvious. However, this maid was a natural airhead, so it should be somehow fine. In addition with those overpowered puppy eyes of his, it should work greatly.
"Ugh, fine. I guess I'll let this slide again, but remember that this will be last time again, okay?"
"Hehe, okay, but what if a mosquito fly over it again?"
"Young master, I'll no longer talk with you if you end up doing it again."
"Okay, I'll do it."
Ahh, him trying to be a good person might still be too far-away..
And it soon started again.
His troublesome, yet bright days.
...
I finished changing my clothings and quickly went straight to the dining room.
Standing in front of the wooden door, my face appeared complicated.
It took 6 years for me to get used to it.
'I got used to it, didn't I?'
When Bai Ling opened the door, the dining room's interior came into view.
On the long wooden table, a simple yet nutritious breakfast was spread out and neatly arranged.
And two people were seated over the table.
My mother quickly smiled, seeing me entering the room. She was a very beautiful and elegant woman with the perfect body proportions.
I inherited my unique purple eyes from her.
"Oh sweetheart, come and sit down here to eat."
I nodded faintly and sat next to her, but only to be hugged intensely and my cheeks getting squuezed.
"Oh my gosh! Why are you so cute!? Ai, I can't resist this cuteness! I wonder who you looked after? Hehe, of course, it's me right?"
I only barely managed to nod my head, and bitterly endure this torture in silence.
She was just overly affectionate, always showering me with her motherly love.
For me who didn't like being loved even in my previous life, it felt like a poison that I could only endure in silence.
I then felt someone staring at me, and stared back at the girl who was sitting in front of me. She was a young girl that looked cute and had white hair scattered over her back. She also have our unique purple eyes.
This girl was my twin sister.
We were born at the same time, only having minutes in difference. However, she was the oldest and me being the youngest.
It was something I couldn't accept.
You might also expect us to be quite close, but....
We're not that close. We were like a water and oil, not mixing and always fighting against each other. It might seemed childish for a reincarnated person, but I didn't cared at all.
We silently glared at each other, our gaze full of contempt and ridicule.
[ What are you looking at, huh? Feeling jealous about not receiving enough attention? Heh, then why didn't you become the youngest? ] I said toward her through telepathy.
And yes, we can converse with each other through our mind. We didn't know how, but it became natural since our birth.
[ Huh!? Whose the one feeling jealous? I am only looking at the ugly you obviously. ]
[ Hahaha, we are twin, so if I'm ugly, does it means you're also ugly since we look almost the same? ]
[ Bleh! I don't care, I don't care! You're simply ugly! ]
I sighed bitterly and looked outside through the window.
The heaven truly gave me a middle finger.
I really wanted to have those very cute/shy/obedient/loving younger sister, who will keep saying 'onii-sama' or 'onii-chan' and whatnot, but I instead got an annoying older twin sister.
God, was this karma?
Well, to be continued.
