'Mara, this is your decision,' Malacai said telepathically without looking at her. 

He had no problem sharing the reason with Aine, but it was personal for Mara, so he let her decide.

"If we tell you, how can you help us?" Mara asked.

"I'll do what I can. Since this is happening here, it also affects me. 

Aside from this, we're also cooperating; my father is still in your custody. If something happens to you, it'll also impact me," Aine responded diplomatically.

Mara hesitated, not sure if she could trust Aine. However, since Malacai was cooperating without using his abilities, she figured it would be fine. 

Her insecurities grew as she realized there were many things beyond their control, even with their strength.

"They're related to my brother's disappearance," Mara said. 

She then shares part of her story while emphasizing its importance.
