Chapter 7: Extermination

"Let me see him."

Walking towards them, I witnessed a gruesome scene. The man has no more left arm and right leg, it's like he was tortured badly. I kneeled beside the heavily injured man. l and spoke calmly.

"I can heal him don't worry." I smiled to assure the other man who was carrying this poor being.

Using Divine Power, my eyes glisten in a golden hue while a golden haze enclosed the heavily injured person.

"Heal," I muttered, and within a single breathe the missing limb of the man began to grow but not in a gruesome spectacle and the process even make the onlookers relaxed.

"His breathing is now stable. Just let him rest for a day or two then he can resume venturing if he wants to."

I patted the man who carried his brother.

"Thank you, sir! Thank you for this! How much do I need to pay? I can't promise that I can pay you all you wanted right away but I will surely do in the future!" The man lowered his head on the floor while sobbing.

I shook my head and supported him to stand up. "You are a good brother and didn't abandon his own family. I admire individuals like you. Also, I don't heal people for money, I do it for free if I have time or it's urgent."

"Once again sir. Thank you! Thank you so much!" He lowered his head while nonstop singing praises to me.

"Now then, if you excuse me gentleman, I will register as an adventurer."

I excused myself and walked to the receptionist. As I arrived at the counter, a woman spoke.

"So you can heal without chanting huh? Did you know that what you have done is a miracle? Even high priests will take a week or two to heal a missing limb. What more if that person is at death's door."

She is a cute girl with light pink hair that ombres into hot pink and is tied into pigtails, she tied her hair using two tubes and had a small red clip on the left side of her face. She has red eyes and she is about 166cm tall with small glossed lips. She looked very fragile, having a very slender figure and thin legs.

"As long as I can help people, I don't care what rumors will spread." I smiled at her, causing the cute girl's face to redden slightly.

"I understand. You're a good man and I didn't feel you are lying." She answered with a smile as well.

"Oh? You can feel if a person is lying?" This is surprising, like my Divine Sense.

"Yes. It's my ability. That's why I was hired to become a guild receptionist." She answered proudly.

"Now then, you want to register right?"

I nodded my head. She took a piece of paper from a cabinet and gave it to me.

"Here, drop a small amount of your blood in this paper." I don't know why I should drop some blood but I complied.

The moment my blood landed on the paper, it started to shrink until it became like a card.

"It will register you as an adventurer in the Luduris Kingdom. All your quests achievement will automatically record here while you can also put your money inside like a bank."

It's like a magic item and they also have a bank in this world.

"Before I take a quest, can I choose the hard one?"

She nodded.

"Yes, even your still a new adventurer you can do difficult quests as long as you can do it. It will convert into Fame Points. However, dying will not be our problem because you chose that quest."

"I understand but what are these fame points?"

"Fame Points will assess how successful an adventurer is. The more Fame Points you have, the chance for you to become a noble is possible."

That makes sense. They don't have any ranking or some sort, what I need is to earn Fame Points as many as possible.

"Thank you for the assistance." l

"It's what I should do." She replied with a lovely smile.

"I will be going then."

"Take care and if you need help, I will be here." She waved her hand with elegance.

"I should pick the difficult ones."

I went to the section where the hardest quests are located. Not a single adventurer spotted here. It's to be expected because most quests here are difficult.

[Demon Subjugation: Powerful Stray Demons are lurking at the far east of the Dead Woodland, we have been placing these quests for a month already but no adventurers seem to take the risk in clearing them out before their numbers will increase and began to destroy nearby villages. "Yeah. I think I'll have this."

"Alex? Oh... You decided to take one of the hardest quests."

I noticed miss guild receptionist the second she was about to pass behind me. I decided not to disturb her because she is carrying many sheets. However, she halted and spoke to me first.

"Yes. The situation of this quest if no one will accomplish it will be dire. I don't want to see nearby villages destroyed and powerless people killed because no one can protect them."

I have my experience being powerless, I'm no saint or playing hero. I'll kill who deserves to die and save who deserves to be protected.

"Really. You're a good man... Honestly not lying."

Oh? Did she use her powers again at me?

"By the way, I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Elissa." She requested her hand.

Holding her soft little hand, I introduced myself. "I know you already knew my name but I'm Alex."

I don't honstly mind if she is using her powers against me because I'm also using my powers against everyone.

"I'll be going. However, do be careful okay?" She smiled sweetly and went to the second floor.

I took the request and put it inside my Inventory ring.

"Let's go, guys, we have some extermination to do."
